RE: Gyros for 3D flying?
gyro's are not needed. It take a plane set up to do it. Learn how to trim a plane properly. and burn gas. some planes are easier to hover than others. but once you get it. You will love it.

RE: G90 and mousse can test today... WOW
I build a moosecan for Paul Swanson, he's here on RCU, and the www.theprofilebrotherhood.com a few years ago for his ST G.90, I used a 2"x10" can. I don't remember what the stinger O.D. was. But it made his throttle response perfect. I think it picked up his RPM by around 900-1000RPM

RE: OS 50sx prop size
I build a moosecan for a friend of mine for his OS.50SX he was getting 15,000 with a 12x4. It would pull a 5lb profile out of sight. It has so much power the whole fuselage would flutter on full power uplines. and yes the prop was balanced.

RE: Super Tigre G-34 or OS .40LA???
the ST.34 is a good engine, but needles in my opinion are finicky. I don't have a OS40LA but have a .40FP on a moosecan and it is a great little motor. I think the ST .34 with stock muffler will weigh more than OS .40LA and a moosecan. Also if your trying to keep your budget light, you could try a Thunder Tiger .36 and it will outperform both of those motors. I think the .40LA exhaust and the TT .36 exhaust is the same so you could move over you moosecan. For a bit more money you could move to a OS .32SX and moosecan. great light weight combo, but the OS .32 is expensive. I have a OS .32SX for years and love it. but a friend of mine has the TT.36 and his does just as good, but for less money.

RE: Aircraft International or Cactus Aviation
I have never dealt with boby, so I can't comment. But I dealt with Gerhard, when I was having problem with barely used 3W-75usi that I bought used. and he diagnosed that problem over the phone. He told me to send it in, just to make sure. I mailed it in and had it back in less than 2 weeks. The spark plug cap was fouling out, and he diagnosed my problem over the phone with the symptoms I was telling him. He nailed it right on the head. It been two years and haven't had a problem yet.

RE: I need help on repairing my carden cap
I did some looking last night. This is going to take a little while before I descide to do anything. I do agree I think I am giong to have to cut the stab out. Luckily my elevators halves hinges have pins, so I will be able to take the elevaotors off easy. But it is also broke at the aft end of the trailing edge. right up against the fuselage. So it looks like I am going to have to cut this stab out. does this sound right. thanks, Micheal

RE: I need help on repairing my carden cap
well I ended up cutting into the covering last night. The break is about 1 1/2 from the fuselage. And it stop where the servo bay is in the elevator stab. and picks back up behind the servo bay. But the foam is busted lose inside the fuselage behind the servo bay. Nothing is damaged on top. any more hints. thanks, Micheal

I need help on repairing my carden cap
I am needing some advise repairing my 30% cap. somehow the elevator stap broke. I had to happen from hanger rash some how. I did not build this plane. I bought this plane used. and I haven't flown it since May when I put it up everything was perfect. Here is whats wrong. The elevator servo is in the bottom of the stab and, it is broke right throught there. I haven't cut into the covering yet. But I know it's broke on the bottom because the covering is cracked and when you wiggle the stab you can see the crack. ON the top of the stab it broke loose real close to the fuselage. So how do I fix this problem. Do I just work in some gorrilla glue or exopy in to foam and wood just glue it back. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks, Micheal

RE: what happened to my apache 2500 charger
Way to go Hobby Lobby. I called hobbylobby and told them what was going on a a tuesday w/ the charger on Tuesday May 23. They told me to send it in, and they would look at it. I mailed in in on Wednesday may 25. I called them the following wednesday, just to make sure they got it. And they said they mailed me a new charger out on May 26. Even before they got my original charger back. They said I would have the replacement charger in a few days. So I got my replacement charger on friday June 3. Way to go Hobby lobby. You defefintely exceeded my expectations w/ great customer service. You replaced a defective charger what was about 20-30 days out of warranty. and mailed me a new charger before you got my old one. I don' t know of anybody else that would do that. I will definefitly recommend and will buy from again.

RE: Burrito/Mojo Landing Gear
What I did was mine. was mount the muffler backon the plane. on then position the tetherite gear over thetop of muffer. It looks a little funny at first, but it works great. I like the landing gear because they are light, but after a couple of ruff harrier landing, they wires got bend to bad. So I went with the way explained above.

RE: what happened to my apache 2500 charger
I forgot to mention that on saturday, I took it to the field, and hooked my batteries up to a friends apache 2500 and it started charging them instantly. I tried each of my batteries on 2 differant charges w/ no problems. But when I hooked the batteries up to my charger all it does is set there and blink. well that good for the charger for the safety feature. So now I still have to go out and buy or borrow a triton, which nobody is going to let me borrow their charger for a few days. To fix the problem of my li-pos being out fo balance that have less than 3 charges a piece on them. If I would have know that I would have bought the triton to begin with. I do appreciate the help.

My lipo charger is acting up Apache 2500
I bought a apache 2500 charger from hobby lobby at the e-fly in here in Memphis, TN about 3 months ago. I have charge li-pos with it less than 20 times. I am trying to recharge my lipos and the green power light comes on. all that I get is the charge/error light just blinks. It starts blinking as soon as I connect the charger to the lipo. all I have is 3 cell lipos. My lipos show that I h have 10.96volts and the other shows 11.5 volts under 1/2 amp load. I check the output of my power supply and it shows it putting out 13.2volts. I tried using my riding lawn mower battery, it shows by a volt meter it has 13.6 volts. I tried my field box battery is showing 12.8volts, and I tried my truck battery. So I know its not input power. so what can be wrong with my batterys or charger.

built you a mouse can muffler for it. Will increase RPMS from 1000-2000RPM depending on what prop your using, but it will definetly give you a 20% power increase for less than $30

RE: Dimensions of OMP or Jerry Smith pipes?
well there are 2 versions. I guess we are talking about for the OS 1.60 1 that jerry smith builds which is longer with a smaller diameter can. Works well. I don't know the dimentions of it. The longer one that he builds and sell is quieter than the short one that I have. But I bought one fromone of his friends. and it runs great. Pressure fitting is a 6-32 tapped in the header. 2"diameter x 10" Long hair spray can. Inlet is the back 2" of header JB welded into the can. stinger is 1/2 I.D. Inside diameter Aluminun tubing. Length of it it is about 1-1/2"

I bought mine used RTF @21lbs. w/ 2 6volt 1650mh nimh pack on RX and 4.8volt 1650mh nimh on ign. I have since took off the standard gear, added carbon landing gear, and duel fromeco 2400mh RX packs and 2400 ign pack. It should come in just under 20lbs. w/ 3W-75usi. batteries alone took off 7oz

my TT 1.20 run greats. Try richen up your needles a lot. then start over. What muffler you running. I had mine mounted sideways using a bisson pitts muffler, and it ran great. using a 16x6wood prop. I am now running a mousecan muffler on it now runs even better.

RE: HS-5955TG, one per Aileron on 33% H9?
I know that my 3W-75 doesn' t have the power of a DA100 but were are looking at 2 differant classes of motors. every H9 33% w/ a DA 100 I have seen is grossly overpowered, which is what I like and prefer. but I already have a 3W-75 and don't want to drop another $1200 on a DA100 w/ muffler. I was hoping to slide by with the 3W-75 but I also have seen them DA 100 swinging to 28" props with not enough ground clearance with the stock gear if you don't grease the landing you just snapped a prop.

RE: HS-5955TG, one per Aileron on 33% H9?
Surely a ZDZ 80 doesn't have that much more power than a 3W-75USi single. what I have read is that a ZDZ 80 is a great combo for H9 33% Maybe I don't I have no idea. I know my 3w-75 will fly my 21lb 30% carden cap with ease. Pull out of a hover is real good, and you can slap full left aileron and will will continue to roll on vertical uplines until you can't see it. But I know the 33% edge will come out around 23lb 1/2lbs. I know that my 3W is over a full pound lighter than a DA 100 and if I use carbon wing and stab tube, and 1 aileron servo per half, and 1 rudder servo, that will save me a pound of weight there to.

RE: HS-5955TG, one per Aileron on 33% H9?
so you can get by with 1 servo on a H9 33% w/ a 8611 or similiar in the wings. Just use the servo bay closest to the fuesleage. Is that correct. I am thinking seriously about getting the H9 New extra 330 or the H9 edge, and using a 3W-75USi for power. And using 1 servo per wing half would save me 4oz of weight. How do think it will 3D with a 3W-75. I would use lithiom ion batteries. and buy a carbon wingtube and stab tube.
