RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Hi Christophe31, Where can I purchase the new steel pinion gear for the RS333 rotating retracts? I've looked on both your websites (e-tract.com and lado-tech.net) and don't see these parts available. Please let me know. Thanks, M3

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair
I currently have one of those new turnigy SK3 320kv motors. The prop is a vario prop setup as a 15x14. I'm running it on a 6S setup. hk

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair
Nice. I was going to go with tri-color scheme as well but ended up trying something a little different... I'm using the same TF cowl and canopy. hk

RE: New Top Flite P-40 60 sized arf
CJ, I made mine electric as well... Fly's great. Had to add some nose weight though. I'm currently flying it with the stock spinner and APC 15x10 prop. However, I have a DB 3-blade spinner, which looks a little more scale than the stock spinner. I plan to swap out the motor for a lower kv and use the 3-blade spinner with a Master Airscrew 16x10 prop. My only gripe is I went with the Robart 615's.... I was trying to get the Sierra Giant units but after trying to get a response from SG for over two months, I gave up on them. hk

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!
Armando, The RS333 - 100 degree is NOT A ROTATING retract. It's a standard type of retract. The RS333RT is the ROTATING version. The "RT" and "RB" designations indicate whether it's a top mount or bottom mount. For Top-Flite kits, you need the RT version. The RB version's are typically for Hangar 9 kits. By the way, the rotating 333 series retract on the lado website are all 90 degree. As CJ stated, it's better to go 100 degree. Supposedly, Lado will be releasing 100 degree versions of the rotating 333 series soon. hk

RE: Spektrum A7000 retract servo
Warwix, Stock setup probably would work. I forgot to mention I switch out the stock wheels for heavier, larger Robart wheels. I also notice on bench testing it will barely work but in the air, it will not work 100%. I never tried it with stock wheels... For $30 bucks, the A7000 is a great retract servo and would be my choice over the hitec 75 any day. I'm just not so sure it's putting out the full 240 oz of torque as it claims. Or, it could be the JR 791 has more torque than it claims.... I've had the 791 keep on going even when the retract got stuck once and it just bent the push rods as it did not stop. hk

RE: Spektrum A7000 retract servo
Warwix, As I mentioned before, I used it on a H9 Hellcat. The Corsair and Hellcat use a ROTATING retract mechanism which requires more torque so the Hitec 75BB will not do the job. BUT, for standard NON-ROTATING setups, it works fine as does the A7000. I ended up using the A7000 on a P51 and for this platform, it works fine. Plenty of torque with ability to slow down and set endpoints. hk

RE: Spektrum A7000 retract servo
TripleW, I can careless about the name. I'm not loyal to any brand servo. I really was hoping the A7000 would work just as good as the JR since it's half the cost and allows for end point adjustment. But, from my one experience. It does not. I have 3 JR791's and they all work on the H9 Corsair and Hellcat rotating mechanical retracts. The A7000 does not.... Comes close; get's about 90% of the job done. Hitec 75BB gets only about 60% done. As I stated in my post, it "works as claimed" except it seems to have less torque than the JR791. Don't try to put more into what I stated. Warwix wanted someone with first hand experience and I provided. hk

RE: Spektrum A7000 retract servo
I tried it. It works as claimed with my JR 11X. However, the specs say 240 Oz torque BUT, when I used it on my Hangar 9 Hellcat, it could not produce enough torque (@ 6V). I had a JR791 retract servo which is also rated at 240 oz and it has no issues retracting or extending the mechanical retracts on the Hellcat. It seems the A7000 specs are over rated... But for $30, I'd say it's not bad but don't expect the same level of power as the JR791 has even though the specs claim it. hk

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70
flycatch, I'm in the same boat as RBean... I want to get this kit but don't want to pay for retracts I won't be using. Since you said they are junk, can you explain what specifically are bad about them? I've dealt with the ESM air retracts.... They aren't too good either. But, after an hour or so disassembling them, lubing everything, then reassembling with loctite, they turn out OK. HK

Why is it taking so long for this to hit the US?!?! I hope when it does arrive here, they offer it without the air retracts... hk

RE: Black Horse Models FW190 A8 70
I can't wait for this to hit the states either. I saw it at the AMA show and was amazed how scale it looks. Perfect size without the "extra" weight (ala ESM). I know someone who works at Hobby People and they are telling me they don't show anything in their system of the kit coming any time soon :-( M3

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Guss, Question. So does the new regulator work for the smaller LADO retracts as well (333 series)? Also, if one were to get the regulator and used it on a 300 series REV B retract, could one use it to speed up the retract or would that only work on rev. C units? M3

RE: New Top Flite P-40 60 sized arf
CJ, Having read your post on the TF P-51 build a while ago, it inspired me to get the same kit and do an eletric conversion. Flew great until a tree smacked it down - yes, a tree smacked it down. I did not fly into the tree! The same lessons learned from your P-51 electric conversion & build thread was used on my TF P-40 (I believe I'm the one LDM is referring to on RC Groups who did the eletric conversion). With this said, I'm very familiar with the "hidden hatch" you are talking about and I can tell you without a doubt, unfortunately, there is no hatch on the P-40 ARF .60 size. hk BTW, here is the link for the LMBT (lazy man's build thread) on RC Groups: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1279847

RE: Resurgence of Lado Retract Systems
da Rock, How did you get the robostruts into the lado's? I just picked up a TF P-40 .60 size ARF and I'm thinking of getting a set of the new lados but I want to use them with the robostruts as well. I noticed the new lados are made for 5mm strut wires but the robostructs are for 4.8mm (3/16"). Did you make an additional bushing or is the .2mm difference trivial enough to not worry about it? Let me know. TIA hk
