RE: Starter box with a lot of power
I was about ready to get a new starter box becuase it was having a hard time starting my cars but instead i put a lipo in it and its like a whole new box. I would put a lipo in it before buying another box. Once that lipo in there you wont be having problems even with new motors.

I was in the same boat with my old XB8, wasnt sure what to do with it. I kept it and when people want to drive i let them use that one and keep my 808 to myself.
ORIGINAL: chevy_jlewis disregard. im going electric after spending a few hours at the track.
So you meant your going with nitro ? I like nitro more because it more like racing with pit stratigies and having to know how to tune your motor on top of being a good driver . Plus you cant fo a 30 minute main on batteries.

If your a good drive just about any buggy/truggy will do well at the club level. i would go race them and see how you feel about them after a couple of races.

RE: Losi 427 in an rc8?
I have the orange head mach in my truggy and I just bought a SC8, I plan on putting another mach motor in that too. The mach is super easy to tune, or at least mine is. I did 4 6 min qualifiers and a 20 minutes main (didn’t make the a main) and it never flamed out on me once. On the straight away it hangs in there pretty good, its not going to eat Vspec's for lunch or anything but im not regretting buying that’s for sure.

RE: Hard time deciding on QUALITY servo.
I use the Hi-tec 965mg for throttle, and i really like it. I had a cheap no name servo before and i'll never go back to those cheap servos again. Th 5995mg is great for steering, if you ever need one of those.

RE: good 1/8th scale buggy for towing another RC car
Get something off ebay, there are cheap buggys on there all the time. If yuor going to be pulling something i would stick with a .28 motor for the extra torque. A .21 will be fine but getting up to speed quickly i think you'll want a .28 . If we were talking about top of the line .21 then the motor size would not be an issue, but with the lower end motors you probably want the torque. Oh, and please get video of this and share it !

I'd put that on the shelf and find a nice race ready buggy to start with. If your staying with the club leve the Hyper 7 black is pretty easy on the budget and a good buggy too.

RE: Good 1/8 buggies for $300?
I would but a used buggy with new motor and what ever is needed to get it going like radio, servos etc... That might cost you a little more but you'll end up with a nicer buggy in the long run.

RE: Buggy track setup questions thread
You can also change the springs in your clutch to engage earler which will create less wheel spin. 1.1mm is the stiffest which gives it the pop of the line, so you may want to try some 1.0 or 0.9 springs to start with. Changing the CB will make a difference too.

RE: 8ight 2.0 servos. Pitch 'em or keep 'em?
I admit that I always went the cheap way when buying servos. My thought was why pay $100 for a servo with 295oz of torque when there is on that has the same torque for $40? Well I finally bought the $100 servo and the difference is night and day! I have since changed all my Truggy servos to Hi-tec and my buggy will be soon. (It needs a motor first)
