RE: HBX, Who else owns one??
Hey Knoxes... Can you give me a little back ground on the truck you have ??? If it is a Bonzer then your gonna be in for a hard time.. We have all tried going alternative brushed motors with limited sucess. I am currently using a HPI X-35 35T motor and so far no sign of it smoking the armature.. (Then again I use my Bonzer for trail riding so it hardly gets held on full throttle for anymore then 10 secs) Bonzers have a bad habbit for smoking motors due to the LARGE tyres used on the on-road running gear.. Some people have had sucess with the Graupner 600 motors, others have had sucess with a Pro-Stock 27T but all seem to have limited life. Some have used the Tamiya TZ motors and others have had them smoke inside 10 minutes... Probably the safest suggestion is to hunt down an Original Bonzer 550 fan cooled motor.. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Seperate Question... If I drop down to a 16T pinion :Would that help me get the Torque I need???

RE: Are Rock Crawlers Fun?
I am looking at making Scale RC Adventures so I am more into the Trail rig rather the dedicated rock crawler... I am lucky enough to live about 15 minutes from a Forrest and there are plenty of walking trails to drive down.. so Yeah I suppose its a case of having places to go and getting used to going slow..

Scale Trail Rig
Since Crawlers tend to know more about the rough stuff then the General offroaders like Buggies and Stadium trucks I thought I would ask my question here.. I am looking for a scale Rig.. At the moment its a bit of a toss up between spending a little and getting a litlle and spending alot and getting alot.. The Two that are up for debate are The Tamiya CC-01 Landcruiser [image]http://clodzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/tamiya_cc01_landcruiser_5.jpg[/image] [image]http://www.tamiyausa.com/images/product/250/58445/chassis.jpg[/image] Which I already have RC Gear to sink into it.. Like Servo,Reciever and 50T motor. Or The Axial SCX-10 Trail Ready [image]http://clodzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/axial_scx10tr_5.jpg[/image] [u]Reason why I want one[/u] I am fortunate enough to live close to some national parks and state forrests. I currently have a HBX Bonzer but it is not scale... I need a rig I can water proof to handle small rivers, Mud, Rocks, grass,Sand and Gravel. I dont like the stick insect look of the Rock Crawlers but need a car thats going to have some suspension travel without looking like a stick insect... I really am looking at a chassis I can get one of those Tamiya Highlift Body's to go onto but dont want to fork out an absolute mint..

RE: drift tire question
It takes alot of skill to slide on a set of PVC tyres with any sort of real control.. I would be looking at Home Made ABS tyres (Black Polypipe as opposed to white PVC) The black polypipe offers a little bit more grip then white PVC and gives more of a authentic look then seeing a set of rims wrapped with white pipe.. Electrical tape wrapped around a stock radial is a good way to get drifting straight away but the tape needs a dead smooth surface and with brushless I doubt would last more then 5 minutes...

RE: Sprint 2 drift or E10?
Sprint 2 is a far more balanced chassis to drift.. The E10 is an All plastic entry level car which you would need to invest some money into if you want it to handle brushless.. Sprint 2 is brushless compatable and needs no mods to drift... Only real mod to do to a Sprint 2 is the rear Diff plate mod so little rocks dont jam and shred the rear belt.. Out of the two chassis you have mentioned... Sprint 2 all the way

Similiar.. Thanks... Thats not too bad for a stock boat.. Although you can see that the stock boat is not proportional as the motor is either on or off... but it looks alot faster then I would have thought...

RE: HBX, Who else owns one??
I haven't had a problem with the rear gears chewing since I replaced the motor so I can only assume that they dont align them properly at the factory... A series 1 bonzer has an ESC and Reciever in 1 unit. A Series 2 is a Seperate ESC and Reciever.. If you bought it recently then it would be a Series 2 as they seemed to have dropped the series 3 from E-bay down under..

Reef Racer 2 Question
1. What was the difference between Reef Racer 1 and 2 ?? 2. Do they use the same 7.2 Volt 6 Cell as the cars do ?? 3. How good are they at handling wake ? 4. If 3 are running at the same time and have a collision, How will they survive ? 5. What sort of motor do they run ? 6. If they dont use the same packs as the cars, Can you possibley fit the Stick pack in ? If anyone owns one, what trouble have you encountered ?

RE:
The TC4 would make a better drifter then the TT-01D only on the basis that it is a proper touring car.. It will only be a better car if you can get the parts for it. The 17T Reedy Motor will be fine for Drift, If you find it too fast, then swap it back to a Tamiya TZ..

Intermediate Drift cars Hotbodies Cyclone S [image]http://www.rcsmart.com.my/webshaper/pcm/pictures/Hotbodies/66408/66408-1.jpg[/image] Tamiya TA-05 [image]http://tftr.org.au/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ta05.jpg[/image] for Shaft Drive Team Associated TC4 [image]http://www.rctechonline.com/products/kits/associated/images/tc4_chassis.jpg[/image] HPI Pro D [image]http://www.rchobbies.com.au/store/images/HP30904.jpg[/image] Intermediate drifter chassis are basically ones with more adjustability other then just Polypipe and go... They allow you to dial in your chassis.. a TT-01 and HPI Sprint 2 are very adjustable chassis and can be used from the Basic to the advanced slider.. It just depends how much money and how serious you are about the sport... Most drifters are happy with the Basic chassis and just throw more money at them.. So really in a sense, there is no real Intermediate chassis, just an Intermediate Drifter..

Well after some exploration I found out that yes, they are no more then Glorified NQD Boats..\ They use the same electronics and no cannot be made hobby spec without gutting and retro fitting... (the Straight Jacket and the Killer Vee) So looks like I am on the hunt for the Reef Racers.. at least they run of more then 2 different frequencies...
