DSMX Transmitter and older receivers
I am looking to upgrade my X9303 to either a new 11 or 18 (DX18) later this summer and am trying to find out if I can still use all of the older receivers I have AR7000s and JR921s not to mention the small park stuff 6000,6100s etc... I know that some of the features may be limited but wanted to see if they would still bind and work. Thanks

Chris, Can the exhaust angle be brought forward slightly? (angle changed by bending) If not what about a short extension? Welded... Course you could always get some high temp hose and water clamp it on... ;) lol

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
Mine didn't have the ring but had the collar with the screws similar to the Align SE V2 main shaft and it definitly interferes with the low end of the swash. I ordered some of the align Main shafts this morning. Mine didn't have anything permently attached. I found what I needed on another site (Finless Bob) and they said you can get about 10 +- pitch and 6-7 on ail and ele with the V2 shaft as it is shorter and you will get swash interference... I will wait for the pro shafts to show up so I can finish setting up the head.

RE: HK-450GT CCPM Alloy T-Rex compatible
I got a 450 GT Pro belt and it had what looks like a V2 shaft with stop on it. Anyone else have this issue? I ordered some Align Pro main shafts and hopefully they will fit. The V2 shaft won't give me the clearence on the low end for Pitch or aile and ele.

RE: Fuel tank set up
Not sure but I wouldn't chance it as it can gum up the carb. We have 10% ethanol and from what is reported the neoprene breaks down and problems start. The viton is made for gas and maintains it's flexibility.

RE: Fuel tank set up
I wouldn't recommend neoprene, it will break down with the new blended gas and clog your carb at least here in the states. Not sure if you guys run any E-10 blends over there or have any other additives. I just did 3 water bottle gas tanks and used viton tubing and it works great. I did use a section of brass with 2 short sections of viton in the tank. http://www.thunderboltrc.com/tutorials/tutorial_five.html place to buy the line. http://www.redaerorc.com/

RE: Hitec 7954SH on 7.4v unregulated lithium-ions?
There are some good threads on them. I have 5 going into a 30% slick. From everything I see they are very similar to the 7955s only with steel gears instead of Titanium. Running them on A123s.

RE: 30%-50cc, Servo Recommendation?
I would recommend 7955s if you have the money, if not look at 7954sh, I picked some up and they look good. They have received decent reviews and they are about 15 to 20 less per servo than 7955s. Basically they are similar to 7955s with steel gears. If you look around you may find some low use servos also with plenty of life in them for much less money also. The 5645s are slow and don't center well and will develope slop fairly quickly on the elevators of a 3D ship. I would trade or sell them and use the money on some higer end servos for the elevators. RE: First gas model
If you are using one A123 for both I would use an IBEC similar to this. http://www.tech-aero.net/ultra-ibec the product has a regulator and a ignition kill switch combined. It will be the ticket for both ignition power and safety.

RE: Recommendations on 50cc 2-Stroke
That they do Andy, I have 2 also and love em. For the power and proven track record I couldn't find anything else close in that price point. The reason I mentioned the 2 shops above is they are authorized DLE dealers and will do repair work themselves.

RE: Recommendations on 50cc 2-Stroke
DLE 55cc from an authorized dealer. 1. Great Power 2. Can be had for around 355.00 this time of year. http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/DL55ENGINE.html 409.00 -55.00 savings http://www.valleyviewrc.com/DLE-55cc%20gas%20engine.htm 3. They have a proven track record for several years. I would buy from either Jody at Valley View or Troy built. Links above. DA has a new 60cc engine coming out but it is more $$ and there are other 50s out there in the DLE price range or less but most don't have a real established track record. Both dealers above service what they sell.

RE: A123 or Li-Ion for a 50cc yak
I don't know about fancy chargers. I have my A123s with a JR balance tab and charge them using a cellpro 4s (60.00). they charge in about 15 minutes and have never had any issues in the 5 planes and 2 years I have been using them. Just bought 2 more for a new slick 540. It is very nice to be able to forget them for the winter (non flying season) in Maine and throw a quick charge in spring and start flying. No need to cycle or storage charge them.
