RE: CMP 160 sized Texan
ORIGINAL: Meschmidt Mike, there is not any drop in retracts available for this plane as of now. I used a set of old Spring Airs and reangled the mount slightly. Bent some 1/4'' music wire to fit it in the wheel well. Works pretty good as a bad landing will only pull the ply layers apart. 5 minute epoxy and 30 minutes later, back in the air. Mine has plenty of support in the center section. It flies great, just a pain for me to land without it bouncing.

It won't be too bad as the engine only weighs 38 oz with muffler and ignition.

RE: Giant Scale Planes - CMP P-40 Mods
The engine I'm referring to is indeed a 35 cc gas engine. It has a beam mount that drops right in with little modification. It was originally used in my World Models 1.60 size P-51 and it was a pretty good match. Here's one with a DLE 30 . http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1367587

RE: GP Waco?
ORIGINAL: oppie I'm using a DLE 30 with side carb. The instructions call for using 13 spacers and with the standoffs that came with the motor you need a 10-32 x 4'' socket head bolts. I would like to know where to get this bolt. I have checked all the usual hardware retailers and no luck. I then did a Google search and came up with nothing. Have any of you guys gotten this far with a side carb engine? ''Test fit the engine with the spacers and standoffs using four 10-32 x 4'' [102mm] bolts and four #10 lock washers (not supplied).''
Check the bolt depot, they have what you need. http://www.boltdepot.com/product.aspx?cc=13&cs=71&cm=6&cd=1211

RE: NEW DLE30!
ORIGINAL: bkyrdflyer Thanks, Yours is the one I saw on the other thread I think. One other question. The user manual that came with my dle30 is pretty lame and includes nothing about setting the ignition up or breakin. Someone who has no expierience with a gas engine would be kind of lost. Anyone else feel this way?
Checkout the manual from tower. It's a bit more detailed. http://manuals.hobbico.com/dle/dleg0030-0031-manual.pdf
ORIGINAL: vallawyer I have had one of these sitting in the box for years. I don't want to read teh whole thread, but can you tell me will a G26 fly it? The plane seems haevy. What mods are needed for the wings?
A G26 will fly it just fine. I fly mine with a CRRC Pro GF26 and it flys pretty good. As for as mods to the wings, I built it stock and I haven't had any problems.

RE: NEW SYSSA 30CC GASSER MADE IN THE USA
ORIGINAL: ghoffman I was at Syssa's shop yesterday and he really got my engine singing! Â It did 8700 with a Vess 18-6 with a 1600 rpm idle and instant throttle response and I only have about 3/4 of a gallon on the dino oil through it! Â Now I have to get it installed with the pipe on the EF Extra. Â I am wondering how much covering I have to remove on the bottom? Â
I've been following this thread for a while now trying to decide if I want to buy this engine or not. I was just wondering if you had a problem with your engine that required Todd's expertise?
