RE: Great Planes 25% Yak 81
No mounting gear plate is very good, ive had a couple of bumps in my probable 100+ flights and besides the aluminium will bend which is good, i have no complaints. My field is quite bumpy but i land very well. Fuse bottom is foam. I have no pics on the computer of inside fuse. Mark

RE: Great Planes 25% Yak 81
I have a 7955 330 oz at 6v on the rudder, makes high alpha knife edge very easy and 7965 on the elecvators 139oz at 6V, i ran 5645s but didnt like them the plane fishtailed so i went bigger and stronger. This plane has large surfaces if you blow a lot of wind over them then you need good servos. Im sure anybrand would be good. It is a good plane just not superlight, but it flies real good. Mark

RE: Great Planes 25% Yak 81
this plane needs good servos at 6v and a very strong rudder servo, i have 2 in tail and one rudder servo up front, tried to keep wait forward. Flight charecteristics are good , it does have lots of coupling in it on knife edge but it will fly very slow, before stall and do all the tricks. A good hack plane. Mark

RE: Great Planes 25% Yak 81
Im at just under 13lbs and it does throw about very well, ive watched the DA50 vids etc and the planes are well overpowered its pretty nuts with the zdz40, i used carbon rods everywhere and hacked the hell out of the firewall. I could run a wooden prop and put a lighter main rx batt and not the duarlite a possibility! Mark

The rudder fluttered on mine so i put a 7955 on it and its superb, i had one spare so plugged it in. I found that 12kg on all other surfaces works great and i fly my model hard. Mark

Should be good, this plane flies superb on the zdz40 rv, im running a 21x10 mejlick pulls better and the plane flies great its keeping the weight to a minimum with this plane and it will fly lite, mines way tail heavy and im liking it a lot its had 5 gallons through it so has been well tested. Mark

RE: Brian's Nissan Yak 54 Build thread.....
ive just built one with a zdz40 and i would keep servos forward for rudder and look at engine spacing forward for c of g. It should be a great plane with the OS200 in I have a os91 fs in a ef extra 58 just love it, keep it lite and i bet the os will be a killer combo. Will watch this thread. Mark

RE: GREAT PLANES YAK 54 BUILD THREAD
Hi it is clean and neat but i prefer the screws to come in from the sides, i guess they did it to make a more rigid fixing and not have mounting points coming off the motor box. Its probably easier with glow but when you have a plug lead and wrap round silencer in there getting to all the holes is not that easy. Mark

RE: BAD EXPERIENCE WITH FLITON PLANES
I still bought another one cause they fly so well, just had a small battery cut off issue and do i buy another well yes, because it flies so well. Im not slamming the plane, its the poor customer support, great product bad support, and with precision aerobatics raising the game its getting hard to choose. I would say third time lucky but what fun ive had and annoyance. Mark
