Does anyone know if the wheely king wide hex upgrade will fit the xs?I have badlands on mine and i could do with a bit of extra width to help stability.

Hi guys.I have fitted the 32-60th idler on mine and kept the 28th pinion.I have fitted the motor back in the rite holes as in the manual but the mesh seems alot tighter now.Has anyone else experienced that?
ORIGINAL: redfisher1974 Looks good dude!
Thanks mate but i dont think i will run them until you can get some much better out drives. These wheels are heavy and will destroy them in no time.i will keep them for looking good on the shelf for now[;)].I love the look of the xs with the bigger tyres tho and dont think i will be able to go back to the stock size.I am going to keep the stock 28th pinion and get the 32-60th idler gear.I have read about someone running that gearing on 2s with bigger tyres without getting any heat issues so i will give that a go.
ORIGINAL: fastgreen350 I just won a set of mashers on hpi mesh wheels, so I got a 60t idler and thaat shuld gear it down more than enough. Now just going to be wating on my esc and motor from hpi that I sent in for repair. Oh well maybe it will be here when i get back from my vacation lol
I went down my shed yesterday and found 4 brand new mashers i bought ages ago for another truck but never used them.I fitted them to a spare set of wheels yesterday just to see what they look like on the xs and they look so much better than the stock tyres. It looks like a monster truck now.I will be very interested in how you get on with the gearing as i am useless at gearing.

I think the black rims look bad a**!
I love the way Badlands will give the xs more ground clearance.Thats my only niggle with the desighn of the xs.Lack of ground clearance for a bashing truck.
ORIGINAL: nitro-rob Another good solution to heat is to run the castle SCT 3800 motor. Â I've run cool with it even on 3s with stock gearing all the time and I have no plans on adding air flow because its not needed. Â I look at fans as a bandaid.
If i need to get a new motor sometime i will deffinatley go for the castle sct 3800[8D].Good to see you have stuck around rob as you seem to be the only one of the early buyers of the xs still be interested in it[:o]

I have got mine but havent ran it.I took the rear diff out so i could fill it with fluid rather than greese and one of the diff bearings was already cracked.I have ordered some more and hopfully they will be here soon.I have got my white hpi wheels on it now and i realy like the way they brake up the colour and realy stand out[8D]

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
ORIGINAL: gdiddy13 So I've run mine a few times and love it! Yes, new tires are needed, I did get some paddles and they are awesome, but obviously I can't run those all the time. I did my loctite and slipper clutch adjustments and this thing is awesome!. I finally had a turnbuckle pop off, which is scary the first time, when you see a wheel all bent to the inside! So what has worked to fix this problem? I also cracked the front body post in half. Is there anything better than the stock plastic, it seems really soft, but maybe it's better than having hard aluminum, so that there is some give? thanks for the help
For the turnbuckles get traxxas TRX-2443.They fit straight on with no adjustment. You will need some button head screws to fit them tho but apart from that they go straight on[;)]

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
ORIGINAL: nitro-rob Forgot to comment on settings. Â I run 35% punch control and leave everything else as is (BEC to 7v for HV servo). Â I don't bother with torque limiting. The problem I mostly have is with too much power off the line, once its going it seems to be easy to handle with just the throttle. Â This is my 3s setting and I just run it that way on 2s although I am going to try it with no punch control since it could use a little more. I realized last night I made a mistake and ordered the wrong cups. Â Another delay... Â my slipper pads came in. Â They come with new metal plates as well.
Thanks very much for the reply rob[;)].I ordered some white 5 split hpi rims for mine today and i will get some Ground Assault tyres after christmas[:D].May i wish everyone a very merry christmas and Happy new year.

Is anyone running any different offset wheels on the xs?I want to run Badlands but i reckon the higher tyres are going to mke it roll alot more.I like the look of the Proline titus 2.2 beadlock wheels.they are virtualy imposible to get over here in the Uk anymore so i would have to order from the US but dont realy want to order if there is no feedback on them?
ORIGINAL: nitro-rob Seems like the blown ESC problem is still going on and being regularly reported. Â The hpi support guy told me that the odds of getting one are incredibly small...he also told me not to listen to people in forums.
I was reading on a UK forum about a guy who just got his.He ran it twice and the third time the esc smoked straight away.Only ever ran on 2s.I got mine from the same shop as his so it will be the same batch so i will keep my fingers crossed.if mine does smoke i will get a Hobbywing sc8 for it instead[8D].
