RE: TREX 600EFL Pro - Part Question
ORIGINAL: soneebee yup i agree.. I have 2 of those.. one for the 500 and one for the 450.. it screws on top of the read replacing the button.. just something that can be used to align the blades pitches.. after setup .. just remove it and replace back the button...
ORIGINAL: BarracudaHockey Just a guess but I think it goes on the top of the head to slip a flybar through, that way you can use a pitch gauge and it gives you a reference, you remove it for flight.

Thanks all!

RE: Firebird maiden
ORIGINAL: Erik R Guys, A link to the video.A little background. The motor test ran fine, then got cranky at flight time.Once running,it checked ok,and we launched.First dirty approach was to get the feel of the sink rate.I was told to expect alot more sink than that, off power. On the go around, the motor started popping and spitting, and then never made full power.Wind dead calm.Last approach was still fast, but I was afraid to go around again, for fear the engine would quit. It's a US Microjets(AMT USA)450,which I will probably replace. In any case when it touched it was still fast, and I got the dreaded hop.Good news is,there's not a scratch on the jet.Just 2 bent struts. I will get the motor issue straight, and add some more flap and crow, and now know that it takes long, flat approaches.I can't say enough good things about this airplane.Flies like a nuclear locomotive, and every design and component is top notch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NCHaYOvrWM&feature=youtu.be
Sweet Erik! Great job Dan/Alan/Erik!

RE: Tartan Twin info
ORIGINAL: rcacro If anyone is interested in purchasing a Tartan Twin, I have one with the Ousley Modifications and reed unit for sale at a low price. Also have the Miller reduction starter. If interested PM me. John
Did you ever have any success with your Ousley modified Tartan? I had him modify one of my Tartans, but could never get it to run, ended up selling it. One of my club members had one years ago that ran like a scolded dog...man did it sound nice.

RE: ASP 108 giving me a fit
ORIGINAL: Firepower R/C I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but you may want to check the pressure nipple not just for tightness, but for a crack... these are hard to find sometimes and can cause you fits.
I would also check the carb where it connects to the intake. I had one that was sucking air and ended up replaceing the entire carb... Good luck

Dalton 42% 300 3w-157 Throttle Servo and Linkage
Hey guys, trying to get this Dalton 300 done before the new year. It has been sitting for two years awaiting the final plumbing. I never did like to run throttle servos and linkages and this time is no different. Would like to see some photos and advice on the best place to install the servo for the throttle. Not sure if I am going to have a servo operated choke or not. Thanks!

RE: What Type of batteries to use?
ORIGINAL: RonLongAZ I run all Duralite batteries LI-poly li-mag and A-123 they all charge the same with the duralite charger. Hook them up the night before and fly all day. I'm talking up to 10 flights if you would like on 1 charge. My 2 cents Ronald R Long
Are you still running the same setup? Which battery are you using on the receiver and ECU?

Duralite Li-Manganese (4400 mah 7.4 volts)
I have two batteries and they were purchased on 4/08 and 8/08. Currently, they will charge up to 8.29 volts. While the instructions say they should charge to 8.35, is it time to toss and replace them. Also, they barely drop voltage with a 1 amp load. Thx
