RE: max charging amps
Never exceed 1C when choosing the amperage to charge a Li-Po battery unless directed to by the battery manufacturer. This means that you charge the battery at a rate based on the mAh of the battery you are charging. Examples of 1C = 2300mAh @ 2.3 amps OR 4500mAh @ 4.5 amps OR 500mAh @ 0.5 amps... etc.

RE: Which shipping company?
For me, USPS is the better choice. They are quicker by days in some cases and offer free shipping supplies for sending priority mail shipments. For me it is by far the cheaper way to go as well, but I agree that you get less service. HOWEVER. I am residential and every time a package comes from UPS I am not at home to accept it. In most cases they won't leave it near my door or with my niebor, so they leave the dreaded "notice". I already waited a week to get the package to my door, and now you are telling me that I can't get it for another day? And don't try to get UPS to have a driver come back after he has left. In my area, they refused many times. And picking up the package if it's on a weekend, requires me to go 30 miles away. My post office is only about 30 blocks. Also they seem to be getting better with the whole customer service thing and tracking for shipments (tracking must be purchased) is just as good as UPS for me. In all, I think UPS has a corporate "plan" to make themselves a lot of money and the cost savings they are offering to you might just be a hidden agenda to lock you in and then when you are stuck with them, they raise your rates. They might also try to make it hard and expensive for you to change back to a more "economy improving" solution in the future. By just sticking with the good OLD USPS (that was started by one of teh smartest people who ever lived and has been running fine for over 100 years), you keep your options for your customers open to suit both needs. Just my 2 cents... Z

RE: Hobao MACH .28 Big Block in a Matrix?
I fit an LRP Z.28 big block engine in my matrix recently. I had to mill the chassis with my dremel tool in some areas for the engine to go low enough for the stock engine mounts to reach the chassis plate. I didn't have to go through the bottom, just milled about 1-2mm in the rear. However, After trying this engine out in the car, I found it to be way too much power for me. Hope this helps. Zac

RE: what airbrush?
Please stay away from Testors equipment. I recently bought a $200 Aztek metal kit and after a week my dog broke it in two because a lot of it is made from plastic and my dog likes plastic. Well, of course I was prepared to shell out some $$ to get it repaired, but Testors said they can not repair or provide parts for any of the airbrushes and I was basically out of luck! I mailed it to their CEO and told him where he could put it. Give a serious airbrush like the Peak, Badgers, or Geko's. Anything around $70-99 will get you a no nonsense (gimmick free) all metal airbrush. And for about $80 more dollars you can have a nearly silent compressor to go with it. Just my 2 cents. Zac

RE: What li-po fits?
You have to cut the battery box a little bit for the 1320mAh LiPo to fit. If that's the one you purchased. Anyway, see my instalation below. [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3630672/anchors_3681940/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#3681940]SEE HERE>[/link] Zac

RE: Holshot carbon fiber?
ORIGINAL: lstRacerX Dont bother with the CF unless you are really into racing. One, the HS kit is not the most well cut piece of CF... it will require anywhere from a very small amount of dremmeling to a large amount to get it to fit. Not because it wont fit the 2, but because the cuts aren't real exact. I had to slightly elongate a couple of holes, other have had more than an hour of dremmel work to get everything to fit. Someone is obviously sloppy with the templates. Second, its also not as rugged as the HD (and probably the HP) plating from Losi. When my bottom plates wear out (early this season I am sure), I'll be getting the high perfomance plates. Since I have already got everything fit I'll keep the chassis and top plates, but the 3 bottom plates will go soon. If you don't mind a little dremmel work, the CF chassis plate is FAR more stiff than the stock chassis. It will lighten the truck a bit and give it better performance on the track. Forget the bottom plates, one race gouged mine pretty good.
I can't agree more! I bought the HS top plate kit and the holes were just as I've read... off in many key areas. Being the strong willed idiot I am, I thought it be simple to do a little working on the holes to get them just right (I can work a dremel pretty darn well). Although it turned out to be a nightmare of an install. I think the way the holes are now, kinda makes the geometry of the front and rear bulkheads, off by a tiny bit. Well for $80.00, Holeshot should correct these flaws. They just give refunds to unhappy customers instead. Not the way I'd do business. Zac

RE: Stronger Steering Servos?
I knew ahead of time that I was going to have much more battery drain because of the digital servos. They draw way more battery than thier non digital counterparts. I had also wanted to upgrade my battery for longer runs between recharging. I went with a 1320 mAh 2C LiPo. This upgrade also required that I use a voltage regulater. Novak makes a nice one. With this set-up, I get about 3 hours of "on" battery time while racing. Zac

RE: Stronger Steering Servos?
I put two JR9000T's in mine @ $100.00 a piece. I never have to worry about servo troubles though. Servo's might just be one of the most important items on your vehicle. It is a good idea to have as bullet proof as you can. Zac

I know what you are talking about laserman2. You are looking for the same thing as me. I think it's a spray adhesive of some sort you apply to the mesh. But instead of sticking like crazy like other spray glues, it easily peals away. Zac

RE: AFTERMARKET CLUTCH
Claudacio, Print this out and bring it to your local machine shop and see if they will make this for you. If they can't make the part from this plan, than they aren't a machine shop and you'll need to go elsewhere.[;)] My shop charged me their minimum of $25.00 (this included the material - 7075 aluminum and sweating it in place). This is the most basic of projects for a professional outfit and they shouldn't charge you much more unless they just don't want to be bothered by such a small job. But maybe if you intrigue them about what it is for, than it might help gain their interest. Zac
