Whatever man. Just read up on the build thread for the 27% 260 an you can figure it out yourself............You will see how everyone loved the C/F Gear for this plane...

RE: Hangar 9 extra 260 27% what engine
Well 3D, It does not depend on how hard you land the airplane. If you land it at all its going to delaminate sometime soon. An sense you must not have this model I will go ahead an fill you in on something....It comes with carbon fiber gear legs, you buy the aluminum gear after the carbon fiber gear starts delaminating....... An if you take a real good look an the Hanger 9 27% Extra 260 you will see nowhere on the box or on the plane does it say.......... Trainer ......I won't be bliping anything. Need not give me a how to land speech. If I needed that I would still be flyin something that said ....TRAINER....

RE: Hangar 9 extra 260 27% what engine
Fox 2.4 (40cc) great engine for this plane. Not the power of the DA ,but you have less than 1200 inch wing area. Ita a real good set up for the plane.......I love it. OH buy the aluminum gear hanger 9 offers. The carbon fiber suck.Came apart on my second weekend with the plane. 11 FLIGHTS

RE: Aero-Works Cessna 195 ARF
I love the Look of an old Ham Std prop.....I'm not sure what prop this plane used with the jacobs engine...But the 195's that have the S.T.C For the Pratt R-985 use the hamilton 12D40 an the 2D30. Both are counter weight return props, so you won't get that smooth round look of the chrome dome of a double oil driven Hamilton. I love the look of the Hamilton on the T-6. 12D40 with 6011-12 blades with the round tips... Beautiful

RE: Ryobi 28 or 31.How do I know?
Well av8tor, You talked me into it. I hope this is not an "oddball" engine. Have you converted many of the short shaft engines? You seem to have lots of time converting Ryobis. Do you think this engine is a good choice for the Great planes RV-4?.....I was noticing in your pic's.You showed engines with two diffrent crankshaft. Mine has the crank shaft that has the two holes drilled in the counter weight. Is that the crank that would be more pron to being out of balance?....Thanks

RE: Ryobi 28 or 31.How do I know?
Well I'm torn. Not sure if I should keep foolin with this thing. I don't have the flywheel no more, an I'm not sure how its balanced. Is there any distinct marking that would tell if this thing is externaly balanced.I would love to be able to convert this thing, cause it would make for a real clean set up on the RV-4

Ryobi 28 or 31.How do I know?
I have a Ryobi engine off of an old Ryan weed eater.Runs good. It is the engine with the short tapered keyed shaft. I would like to convert it to an EI. My question is. Is there something I'm missing,Is there a number cast in it telling the displacement that it yeilds? One more thing. Is there a place I can by the prop hub with the magnet already installed or is that something I will need to have custom made? Thanks

RE: Great Planes RV-4 .60-.90 ARF
Thats what I'm planing on doing.Servos in the rear don't bother me. I like short linkages anyhow. I just want the simplisity of gas. Plus the Ryobi Is a rear carb an Rear exh engine. which I think will leave alot off the cowel intact. Don't want to butcher it all up. Want it to sound nice fly nice an look nice, That an I wanna take it on some really long trips with a 50.oz tank

RE: FM Radios?
Ch 41 is working great. The more people go to 2.4 the better it is for me. Never have had a problem with PCM an it don;t look like I will be for sometime. The price for a 9ch 2.4 Rx is sky high. I can pick up 149DP's an 319DPS Cheap Cheap. I'm loving it. 2.4 Makes me nervous.I have a friend over in Oklahoma,Just west of Ft.Smith Ark. Who flys right Off of Interstate 40. A private field with 15 members, They lost 7 27% an larger(One was a 50% Extra 260 with a 3W 212)last year to radar jaming equipment going down I- 40. One guy was testing his radio gear in a PT-40 after smashing his larger Edge 540 an smashed his trainer, cause his jamer was on in his truck.Still to many holes in 2.4 for me. 72mhz has not let me down yet.
