RE: Sebart Miss Wind S 50E
Don't tell me your getting soft, wanting calm days. There are plenty of calm days, mostly found between Monday to Friday!

RE: Is it Electric really worth the trouble ?
I have recently started to fly electric, I still have my YS160, which is already starting to be "dated", but is still an amazing motor. But electrics ARE already starting to over take glow in F3A. I just liked the idear of being able to fly at my field in summer EARLY, but here was the catch, there is a curfew until 0900, and 1000 on Sunday's! Electric is allowed to fly before the curfew, so I now have an Angle 50 for practice, and LOVE how easy it is to duck out to grab a few "quick" flights inbetween doing other stuff at home, it really is quicker the set-up, fly, then pack up again. The other advantage I think electric has over glow, if my YS goes "off song", it is a real effort to pull it appart, and get it back together, electric is more what I would say, "plug & play", like another post said, if it is not working, it needs to be swapped, yes you can pull appart the motors, but it is rare. Just my two cents worth. Matt

RE: F3A Judges Corner . . ask a question
Yes it is interesting to see how other people veiw the same video. When I first saw this the question that jumped into my mind was, did this snap, the lack of a break/apparent lack of a break is what I was hopeing would be discussed as it has been, the lines are hard to judge without a horizon in the shot. My thoughts were "no break", but I have only local competition experience.

RE: F3A Judges Corner . . ask a question
Hi Jeff, no, just Sunday morning pattern surfing, it's too windy & I'm too slack to try flying in-between the rain showers. I did look up the price on the "Spark" as it is a nice looking model in the air. Maybe the wind will calm down this afternoon, and I will get a few flights in.

RE: F3A Judges Corner . . ask a question
This seems like a good point to try to add a practical exercise into all of the theory that is being debated. There is some good examples of some snaps being performed in a youtube video which can be found in the "electric pattern forum". Go to "re; Spark F3A from Krill models Spain Team", on page 5 there is a video of this model. Now, on this footage, at time index 2:50, is snap #1, 3:00 is snap #2, and at 3:22, is snap #3. This could be a good chance to see the finer points of judging/thinking at work, but please respect the model/pilot in the discussions, I just thought that this footage showed the snaps quite well.

RE: Sebart Wind 110
Hello tIANci, have a good first flight tomorrow, the 110 seems to be an even nicer model than the Angle 50. I am using a Turnigy SK 50-65 380Kv, they are now listed at 39:95 at HC.

RE: Sebart Wind 110
The painted canopy on tha 110 looks great! For the earlier posts about the Turnigy's, I'm running one in my Angle 50, on the first flight the magnet came loose and stopped the motor. Zapped all the magnets and have been flying since with no problems, about 30 to 50 flights, climbs out of sight rolling. You get what you pay for, and if that means you have to run a bit of super glue down the sides of the magnets, then that's pretty good for the cost of the motor. Matt.[;)]

RE: 2M Electric only planes...?
The Angle 50 has become an excellent practce, entry level model, the Wind 110 is even better, but a full 2mtr built up would be eeven better. The composites are great, but at a cost. I think an open frame electric 2mtr would fill a gap in the availible models at the moment, but it would have to fly/handle well.

RE: Angel S EVO Build Thread
Hello again, yes Jeff that is a Tracey photo, I got the new model, she got a new camera, a Pentax K7. I was just looking at the prop I'm running, it is a APC 17x10. This works well, it was the models previous owner who did all of the prop testing, I just copied his set up when I bought the model off him. tIANci, the Miss Wind looks great, I can't wait for them to arrive in Australia, but I think that Jeff will beat me to one first:-) Hati, don't forget to order the speedy program card when you get your gear. RE: Angel S EVO Build Thread
Here they are, Green is 125mm, Orange is 100mm, and Red is 65mm. The one I have is second hand, I got it from a good pattern freind, and it is my first electric model. I have also got a Turnigy for power, it is the SK 5065,KV380. I use Rhino 6S 3700 batteries and fly for 8minutes, with the BEC for the radio. Power wise, it will go vertical rolling out of sight, the only problem was on the first flight, the brand new Turnigy got a loose magnet which stopped the motor, I glued them all with some zap, and now have about 20 flights with no problems. I was told to run some zap around the magnets before running the turnigy, but I knew better. Would I buy another ? Yes, the price is hard to beat, and if the re-glue works, no problem. The Angle 50 is a great first Pattern model, this is now my practice/ back up model. Matt

Hey tIANci, sorry, I didn't mean to be sacrilegious! As you can probaily tell from to posts that I have been spreading over various posts, I'm having a ball with this model:-) My KAOS might have to take a back seat for a while. I'm also like a kid in a candy store with "e-power". It is my first go at it, and it will certinally not be my last. Hows the Miss Wind coming along?

RE: Best Flying Sport Plane??
I have never had such a kick out of flying a new model for a long time, a few posts before this one I said the Pluse60 was a contender to a modern classic, but now I have a new one. To be fair, it is more of a pattern style, and it may be that I am only just discovering how good "e-power" can be. But all I can do is think about flying it at the moment, great handling, fantasticly easy to knife edge, no noise problem so I can fly first thing in the morning, and no oil to clean up! I give you the Angle 50!

RE: *New Hanger 9 Pulse XT 60*
Chuck, this was the easiest model I have had to get into the air YET! All the controls are hinged, the cowl is pre-drilled to fit the fueslarge, the fuel tank even had the lines already on, just needed to trim to lenght. The tail group just bolts on, the only time the glue came out was for the anti-rotation wing dowels. Drill, screw, and fly! Two evenings if your keen.

RE: Sebart Angel S Evo 50E
I have just being flying one of these Angles for the first time, and can't believe how well the thing TRACKS. This model flys like it is larger than it really is, if that makes sense. The one I'm flying is second hand, the guy that sold it upgraded to the 110. I put the same running gear in it that he took out, which is a Tunigy motor, and 6s Rhino's. This is my first ever "E" model, I haven't even flown a foamy before, and so far I'm convinced that this is the way forward for me in future models. It has been a lot of fun just getting my head around Lipo's etc. GREAT MODEL. p.s my wife just got a new camera, so I hope to upload a couple of pixs soon. Matt

RE: SEB ART SHARK
The freind that sold me the Angle 50, replaced it with two of the wind110's the same colour as the one in your first pix. It is VERY competitive (in his hands) and impressives everyone who sees it fly. For the price it is hard to beat, a pity they 2mtr one they are bringing out is not built the same way, as it would be a cost effetive 2mtr which would be every bit as good as the higher price models. SEBART deffinatly do a high quality model though! The Miss wind 50 bipe also looks awsome on their site[:)]

SEB ART SHARK
I have been RC flying for almost 30 years and am just about to fly my first electric model EVER. It's a Seb Art Angle 50 that I got second hand from a fellow pattern flier. I needed to get my own electrics though, and have had a lot of help along the way to learn this new "art". Even as I am only just starting, I am already thinking of the next model, which willl be smaller. I always like to have some thing smaller to throw in the boot of the car that is fun and capable of some good aeros. The Seb Art Shark is a trainer, but I like the look of it for some reason, and after seeing the video of it being put through it's paces on Seb Art's web site, it looks just like what I'm looking for. But there is almost nothing to be found on RCUNIVERSE in any forum about this model, which seems odd, there is a thread on almost any model some where here, but when it comes to the Shark, nothing. So, what does every one think of this model, would it make a good "sports" model, or is it too tame, and the DVD of it is just due to the amazing talent of the pilot? Matt.

RE: Rumplestadt Bipe
Wow, another Rumplestadt, I have seen a few over the years, we do a WW1 combat once a year over here and there are a few Rumplestadt's each year. They are all built by just scaling up the A4 size plan as you go, drawing directly onto the balsa. With the right paint they look the part, even though they are not scale, I tryed to upload a pix of one but it wont load onto the site for some reason, will try again on another night. p.s they fly great for a simple model. RE: Kookaburra Plans , Spitfire VIII
Just to update, I am currently looking at the plans which turned up in the mail today from Tom Dixon, he included a nice note about another CL spitfire as well. The plans are more detailed than the original one I have with the "Grey Nurse" scheme drawn on(there is a full size MKVIII flying in Aus with this scheme), I was thinking of trying it as an electric conversion, but dug up my Fox 35 and a tank which was last in a Nobler which I crashed a few years back, so I might stick with what I know works. Thanks again Vauxhall for pointing me in the right direction to find the plan. Matt

Who knows why the builder thought that this would work, I bet he didn't do it the same on his next model. But still one has to try new things in design, some work, some don't, maybe you should fit a cannuliser thingy to it, you never know...?

What am I missing here? The post started with a question relating to a Pattern model, not a glider? Rendegade, have you tried using more expo to help with thr rolling issues? I would certinally spend time trying to find a trimming solution before re-doing the wings. Matt
