For all you know I built that 503, or your plane? By the way, what is it that the 503 is bolted to? Please tell me you're not going to cross country a parachute? Have I flown one? No. The closest I ever got, probably will ever

RE: AMSOIL SABER 100:1 PRE MIX SYNTHETIC 2-CYCLE OIL AND AMSOIL QUICK SHOT FUEL ADDITIVE
Actually no ultralight engine is liquid cooled... The only rotax that is liquid cooled is a 582 or the 912... The 277, 447, 503 are all AIR COOLED!! And not much bigger than our engine!!! Especially since people are now running DLE222 on ultralights!

RE: Why the near obsession with over powering airplanes?
On the subject of speed that is one thing..... BUT why do you want a trainer or cub to go 114??? Why not get like a sundowner or a racer and go 180??? They are designed for a purpose and taking them out of that design area is dangerous!!! Look at controll surface size and hinge gap... A Toledo special going 114 is asking for flutter and a lot of wasted money.... Also the potential to hurt someone depending on WHEN it does come apart!!

RE: Turbo props at Jet meets
Is this hobby really like this??? Seriously people... GET A GRIP!! The hobby is dying and people like this are the reason... The jet group has the most pompous arrogant people in the hobby... Thanks for ruining the hobby.... Seriously who would even say something like " would you bring a turbine to an electric event???" seriously when the hobby is truly dead this is why! People should be happy to have a turbo prop show up!!! People that voted no need to look in the mirror... Are you welcoming to new people at a field or do you distance your self??? Again making people not want to join our great hobby because it is full of arrogant pricks!!!

RE: Pattern Plane Recommendation
Nothing beats the old school pattern missiles... My father has a bunch of old pattern planes as he used to work for a kit manufacture... My favorite to rip around with is a Wolfgang Matt arrow! Straight and level probably 110mph flies like its literally on a rail!!! I completely agree with the OP!!! Love the old school pattern!!!

RE: BUILDING A PHOENIX 8
Guys these planes are incredible!! The phoenix 8 is a great plane I'm only 22 but I love this era in pattern we actually have 4 of the phoenix 8s! I guess it helps my father worked at aero composites the original producer of the 8! It's an amazing flying plane! If you have any questions my father knows this plane like the back of his hand and would answer any question or problem you have! Keep up the fantastic work!!!

RE: JR radio question
Well thank you just ordered a set and yeah I am only 22 but been flyin since I was 6 and I'm trying to get into precision, my dad is a past pattern nats masters champion in the days of the LA-1 and SL-1 but I would like a little more stick differential tension and the new stick springs don't get tight enough for a good differential. But thank you very much!!

RE: Zeoah G62 magneto vs Electronic Ignition
I may be late to the game, but i completely agree with Yard-Dart.... I have a G-62 on a sukhoi... i know its no warbird but the model is 35% and the G-62 set up bone stock no spring starter will hover the plane at 3/4 power swinging a xoar 22x10 at right around 7,000.... GREAT ENGINE!! Also very under rated! people knock it all the time saying it belongs in a leafblower but it beats their DA 85's in IMAC and they shut up. My father has one an a Yellow P-47 and we built it light and the 62 makes that thing really cook on those low high speed passes.

has anyone had issues with the 9503? just seeing if they may have secretly fixed an issue??? everyone knows that a major company doesn't like to admit something is wrong similar to toyota? maybe i don't really know i just want to know if anyone has had issues with the 9503

RE: Total lock out on JR12 2.4Ghz
ka9fax i could not have said it better myself!!! you are the man i don't post much either but i sure read alot. I have used JR for a long time and have a 12x and a 9503 i was up at liberty bell jet rally, and like you said of your event 99.9% of the people that were there used JR. the biggest problem of the whole event was Lewis patton and if you really want to blame radios guess what he flies that FU brand. so i am with you i love my King Cat and i will use the 12x in it until it gives up the ghost!

RE: Total lock out on JR12 2.4Ghz
i can see that fields may have different effects on 2.4 our flying field is at the communication center for airforce one out side of andrews airforce base not really populated but has about 14 towers that are on the edge of 1000 feet tall so there are alot of 72 problems but so far 2.4 seems okay airforce is pretty strict on our frequences and our altitude and they also don't like us flying turbines because they are so much faster and can hit a tower but that is besides the point the site is very noisy for 72 so i will keep my fingers crossed for 2.4

RE: Total lock out on JR12 2.4Ghz
ok guys just curious has anyone even used the data log to see just how many missed packets and fades and holds they are having in a flight?? you can use that to exactly tell you how good your system is! it is normal to have up too 100 missed packets in a 10 minute flight but you shouldn't have any holds or fades you should really test this stuff i check after every flight and have maybe 15 missed packets and it sends over 100 packets a second so you will never ever in your life notice that!! so not trying to start something just want to know how many people actually use this device to see how effective there own system really is? well thank you for letting me know i am very interested since i am an avid user of JR!

RE: G-62 starting
haha when i first got the 62 i flipped and flipped until i thought my shoulder was going to fall off packed up went home, read this forum went out and in less than 10 flipps it was running!! i was like WTF and like you said EVERYONE at the field was trashing the zenoh engines and there lack of EI but it was just total and complete lack of experience on my part heck it is my first ever gas engine and first engine bigger than a YS140!

RE: G-62 starting
the micro servo is a great idea and is very cheap! as far a the EI i love the mag on the engine and everyone at the field always complains about the lack of EI and then i go head to head against there engines and my G-62 starts just as easy and runs as good if not better than there DA or 3W !!! you pay too much just for a name!!! and weight is not an issue like most think! the g-62 with the mag is lighter than the all up weight of ANY EI engine on the market! and does the spring starter in any way affect the performance of the engine???

RE: G-62 starting
42% products sells what is basically a relay that plugs into any chanel on mine i use gear which makes sense but i have it and an external kill switch on the airplane so i can shut it off with the transmitter via the gear switch or the throttle trim and i can use the switch on the plane. but Troy built models sells the kill switch for the zenoh engines! it works great and uses hardly any power! on my plane i am running two, 5 cell 3000mha nicads just because of the cost and ease of use and with 6 ds8711's and the kill switch i have flown 7 times in an afternoon then charged it over a week later and it only took 700mha to get back up to 300 on each pack! that is the way to go!
