RE: Reaction ARF - PST/BTE All-Composite Sport Jet
HI. I used a K80 for just on 20 hours flying of grass before I put my 140 in it, the 140 is a far better option unlimited verticals and much nicer to fly Cheers Mav

As far as I know it is world wide, you have to be signed off as a competent Jet pilot with sufficent knowledge on how to opp a turbine. Mav

RE: LiFe or Lipo with regulator??
HI Jetfan For what it is worth I use only A123's but with a Regulator I have had 2 Servo's fried by using them straight into the receiver.I was lucky one was on my brakes and the other was on the retracts and before any one can say that they were probably stalling I can assure you that they weren't. I had a thread on this very problem late last year. I run 5.8 volts now and have not had a problem in any of my jets since. The only common between them was that they were both on short leads not sure if this was the reason but I wasn't going to take any more chances. Cheers Mav

RE: BIG IN FLIGHT TRIM CHANGE OPINION HELP
HI Phil. Glad you got it sorted okay mine has a pair of A123's up front with a 4500 3 cell lifepo4 for the ECU. The only trouble I had was with the brakes and retract valves so I fitted Jet Tronic's and end of problem. Mav

Bad building technique's
HI Guys It's bad news when you see so many planes crash through building/and bad glue joints a mate lost his L39 last Sunday through elevator seperation.I got to thinking that a lot of these problems could be avoided by going back to using foam core's and sheeted wings there is a slight increse in weight but at least you get to keep your models. I used this method for years and never lost a model (except a couple of dumb thumbs) the fuz is no problem you can see 99% of it and is easly fixed. Retracts are are a breeze to fit and beleave me they take far more abuse than what we have now, interested in your views Regards Mav

RE: A123 & Life Po4's
HI Phil. I agree you would have to go a long way to find kits as well put together and at a good price, I have finished my new Reaction and have put the 140 in it (Also have another one sitting there I got it while the dollar is still good) they also listen to you when give them feed back on how to improve something. Before I actually start my build I lay carbon fibre on all the bulk heads and the ribs that hold the retract mounts and I lay 6mm aircraft ply with a carbon fibre sandwitch on the mounts with long screws that go right through, I have had some very average landings and never damaged the mounts.I think Sunee must sleep with her computer under her pillow. I you will be surprised how easy the Yellow is to see, one thing I have noticed is that the Revision takes up a lot more sky than the Reaction it might be me being a bit weary of it, I don't let them slow down to much on finals they can bite you pretty bloody quickly.Hope you all have a great Xmas and a happy New Year. Best Regards Mav

RE: A123 & Life Po4's
HI Phil I have a spare Smart-Fly TurboReg that I have decided to fit and I am going to put Jetronic retracts and brake valve's in it. Have you got your yellow one yet, I had a bad day yesterday fried the servo and noticed the left hand wheel wasn't tracking straight and when I checked it out the trunion was cracked where the bolt locks it up. I was going to put some lock-tite on it but decided to wait until Sunee sends me another one. Hope you all have a great Xmas and a happy New Year Best Regards Mav

Another thought is that both of these servo's are analog I wonder if this coupled with the short leads might be the problem. Mav

RE: A123 & Life Po4's
HI Guys I made dubbly sure that I didn't excede the travel on either one the only one that used to load up was the brake servo as it was on a proportionate valve both were new servo's when I built the model. Mav

A123 & Life Po4's
HI Guys I would like some feed back from those of you that are using A123's & Life Po4's straight in to your receiver's (mine are Spektrum 9100's). In my Reaction I have Jetronic valves for my retracts and brakes and Hitec servo's through out 5645 on the elevator ailerons and rudder with 645's on the rest, I have had NO problems at all with this set up. In my Revision I have the same set up except I have a servo driven retract valve and brake valve 225 on the retract and 645 on the brake I have now fried both of these servo's. I am wondering if the short leads 300 mm long is the cause and the long leads to the wings and back of the plane I am getting away with it. I am seriously thinking of putting a Tubo Reg in, look forward to your view's. Regards Mav

RE: Advice on PST Reaction
Dave I will add that when you do your build keep your batteries up front and even with the K140 I have only 30grms of lead .If yo are going to be using the K80 you will only need the standard fuel cell, that will give you 5.5 mins flying with plenty for go-arounds. Regards Mav

RE: Advice on PST Reaction
HI Dave I have a Reaction X that I fly with a K140F it is my every day flyer and it is the most fun plane that I have ever had. This is my second one the first one had a K80 in it with over 300 flights I then put the 140 in it for another 50 or so flights i retired it and built another and put the 140 in it. The flight envelope is fantastic it will fly so slow or you can cut loose and go balistic, the plane itself is so well made as are all the PST products Sunee and the guys at PST are really nice people to deal with. If you need any more info please drop me a PM and I will be only to happy to help you. Best Regards Mav

RE: BIG IN FLIGHT TRIM CHANGE OPINION HELP
HI Phil Mine flys just great no nose tuck at any speed I have the C-G in the middle it sounds like it might be a tad nosey, I have my Kingtech 170 F in mine one thing we did notice was how quite it is I have the 170 dialed down to 110,000. I do have the tip tanks on mine as you know not sure if they would make any difference, they all come out of the same mould so I find it hard to believe that there would be any structual variation in the model, when you look down the thrust pipe is it dead centre with the back of the turbine not a tad high at the front. Hope you can get it sorted mine is fantastic. Regards Mav
