RE: What do you think of those 2 onroad cars?
Hi JC, mcd make a hard compound tyre for drifting (whitespot) which are perfect, and being a hard compound, they do last quite a long time, thats what i run on my mcd rally car, i think pvc tubing would be too slippery for these big heavy cars, and would probably crash into something lol, have you considered an mcd?? they are quite a bit dearer, but they certainly worth the extra coin!

JC, if its drifting you want to do, then id be going for the 4WD car, much more control and big powerslides to be had! 2WD is no good for drifting.

why not go straight for a G270 zen 4 bolt, more power than the G260 despite what the specs chart says, and its in your price bracket!

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
Yeah man my car runs great at 15:1 mix, infact it actually had more power!, i noticed the power would drop off considerably after about 10 minutes running with 25:1 mix but bear in mind the weather was very hot, 32 degrees celsius, it all depends on what oil your using i suppose. i have never had a problem with fouling plugs either.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
dc2, you could try 200mls, but i would up that to 250mls to 5 litres, its still not as rich as my 250mls to 4 litres that i'm running, i think my harm has a 50T diff ring gear against a 16T layshaft pinion but not 100% sure.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
Hey dc2, the car i got is a harm sx-3 05 model, they are probably more common in racing circles than for bashing lol, but not as common as fg i would say, they are also made in germany......about the oil, i would try a bit more than 200mls, but its up to you.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
Hey dc2, i just started with factory needle settings and went in about 1/8th of a turn on both needles, i tried with factory settings to start with but it spluttered a lot, but yeah didn't have to turn in much to get it running perfect, when i first started in large scale i seized a couple of cylinders, so i guess i got a bit paranoid lol. i think its really important to run more oil in these engines especially in summer.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
Hey dc2, great vids there, looks to handle and brake very well! i bet your pleased with it, the fuel mix i run is about 250mls to 4 litres of fuel.....YES thats very rich, but i like my engines to last!!, what your running is about 30:1 so you could always go a bit richer........those comp chassis sure are great! no flexing.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
dc2 man, did you get a body shell with the fg ? or just the rolling chassis ? that beemer body you have looks like its been through some tough times lol and severe abuse!! yeah i run plenty of oil in my cars, 15:1 actually and they run better, especially when they get really hot, i have never had problems since i changed to this mix, as i toasted a few topends when i started in large scale running 25:1mix.

Hi dc2 man, cool i can't wait to see the comp version your gonna make, are you doing a full conversion ? do fg comp parts fit ?. the body on my car is the BMW 320 same as yours except i think its a harm body, with a carbon wing. the weather is bad here again, just won't stop raining, so no racing today.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
yeah thanks man, its a G230 zen, not too sure whats been done to it, i guess its been ported as the guy i bought it from raced it in sydney, but yeah, damn its quick! its got a samba 5 pipe so that definately makes it rock! the tyres that i had on in the vid were really worn, so was a bit of a handful, but have now got some new pmt tyres on, running 15s on rear and 30s up front. really looks like your car is flying, and handling well too. do you have more parts on the way ? or is hobbythek out of stock ? lol, you are really chewing through your tyres lol, but good to see your getting lots of use and having heaps of fun with your car.

yeah the car is solid az, very little plastic on this car, the radio tray is stock carbon item, i wanted to buy a 1/5 car about 8 years ago, but they were so expensive then, prices have come down since then alot, i was going to get the carson onroad car, but ended up getting an fs onroad car, then the xrc, then the mcd rally and finally the harm lol.

RE: FG COMPETITION LINE TO EVO 09 SPEC
yeah i know what you mean about the spectators lol, every time i take my car out, really annoying, people ask a whole bunch of questions, and they're not even interested in getting one, and it wastes your valuable playtime lol. i bought my harm secondhand from australia for $2250 nzd which is about $1000 usd at the moment. in terms of reliability its excellent, just doesn't seem to break! unless you make heavy contact with a wall! lol, there really is nothing to upgrade on this car, as its a comp car. correction on the price... $2250 was about $1125 usd at the time i bought, just to give you an idea.
