RE: Red Bull P-38 at NAS Pensacola
That would be N25Y Lefty Gardners former "White Lightning" Lefty left us too the day before Christmas. I had the opportunity to fly with him at Ukiah Ca but two small children and nobody to watch them, didn't happen Whatched Lefty and the Lightning probably 20 times, always put a great show. I was really happy to see VQ or KMP, can't rember which, use the N25Y Scheme for ther p-38 ARF. It was Red White and Blue for 30 years. The Red Bull Guy should have left it that way. Mike Goodwin

RE: Club FOX!
Jeffie. I think I might have a muffler still in the bag. I bought it off Ebay for my early schnurle bushing 15's. When I got it I realised it was for an older split port motor. If you will give me a center to center measurement on the exhaust bolt holes I'll go bring my fox stuff inside and find it. So from the pictures of your motors the internal threads should be in the muffler? Michael Goodwin

RE: Does castor ever go bad?
I couldn't help but go look at my last quart of Sig AA, given to me about 92, been down to +5 F. twice, opened 3years ago. No flakes smells good, ran in fuel last summer. The first quart was open when I got it and did develop some whiteflakes. After the fuel and oil was thoughly mixed at room temp I ran it through a coleman lantern funnel/felt filter got the chunks out ran fine.

RE: Synthetic Oils
Hello All FHS supply in South Carolina has synthetic 62RM and Castor/Syn mixes That will work with methanol. Fuchs Silkolene has a Synthetic Super2SX that will mix also a Caster/Syn mix. Horizon Hobby has Morgan Oils Synthetics and mixes .I believe Blendzalls Synzall Synthetic Racing oil will mix. Also VP Racing fuels RS-7 is also suppossed to have been mixed with methanol. I would contact the manufacturers first. Maxima has a 927 Castor/Syn mix that will work. Amsoil and Redline will not. Michael Goodwin

RE: .15 twin?
Roadtrip. The RCM Magazine website, which I believe is still up has plans for at least 6 small twins ,also the model builders magazine plans catalog has two, I think they are being sold by the AMA and the AMA I believe has several Dick Sarpolus Designs. I think it's model airplane News That Has the Twinstar 15 by Mike Sherrod. I have the model builder EEZI- FlI Twin framed, look's like a Hobbico twinstar $12.00 for wood and easy to build. I didn't finish it because when I got the plans for The Twinstar 15 It would have a lighter wing loading. I have the plans for the RCM C-45 and Brittan Norman Islander, the C-45 uses foam wings. All of the plan's that I have are older designs that could use some upgrading They all look fun Mike Goodwin

RE: Castor oil - A final word?
www.usc.edu/CSSF/History/2003/Projects/S0211.pdf Gentlemen. Too further fuel this thread, Or maybe oil it would be more proper The above address is the results of a California state science fair project on which oil would produce the most power in a 2 stroke ATV in the 18 HP range on gasoline. The choices were Caster, Caster/Synthetic, Synthetic. I realise the test motor is a far cry from a 2 stroke glow motor on methanal that we use. I was suprised at the results. Of course you will need adobe acrobat or similar viewer for pdf files Michael Goodwin

Twice As Easy EEE-Z-FLI
Hi. This is my first post with an attached picture, I hope there is an attached pic, anyway this is the airframe for an Easy -Fli series of planes designed by Al Wheeler of Maui around 1989. This is the twin version. I never intended to let it get this far, I was really just trying out a really cheap Chinese 3 wheeled band saw. And Twelve dollars worth of wood later! The span is about 62" Chord about 9" flat bottom, supposed to have wing plates and the center open structure, couldn't help my self. Used CA for the sheeting probably regret that. Tails probably a little short. 4 Ch, with one servo for throttle and one for elevators. Trike gear. Batt in the nose. for 25's and 6 ounce tanks. weight around 4.5 lbs. Kinda Twinstar looking very simple to build. Hopefully I can get my flying skills up enough this summer to handle a case of twinsanity next year. Anybody had any experiance with one of these? Any Comments? Michael Goodwin

Italian 45 Ring
Hi . New to Super Tigres. I have an Italian ring 45 square 4 bolt head. I was wondering what the letter designation was? I have a Chinese 90 I know thats a G. Also are the Exhaust header and carb common to the newer engines. or other brands? I was given this motor. I was able to get it to run on 0% nitro 5% Acetone 18% Klotz supertechnaplate a fox miracle plug 10-6 master airscrew. It was around 15.5K when it departed for a Galaxy far far away and a wall stopped it. It was still climbing out with a 10 oz sullivan tank following behind with the muffler and fuel line streched out from 6 inches to what looked like a foot. When they say anything will fly with enough power this is true. Moral of the story you can't tighten your test stand screws enough and some blue loctite wouldn't hurt. I was really impressed with this motor I realise I can replace it with the G version for the price of a carb and header. But I wan't to run it This time with an airframe. Can't believe I still can't find the carb!

RE: Anybody that know someting about Petrel Seaplan?
Hi. I have A petrel still in the box. Probably be there for a while. I beg to differ on the fiberglass work and the quality of the covering, more likely done by a small band of chimpanzies. However if you look at it from the standpoint of an ARC I think it has possibilities. Thanks for the heads up on the on the tail and engine mount. The fuse appears to be well made however the covering did not over lap on the bottom and it leaks so I'll glass it and the floats. The total parts weight with Super Tigre 45 and all the equip was 6.5 lbs with 5.73 sq ft of wing. Now balancing might be another thing. I believe Fiberglass specialties might make a suitable nose cone. The sea monster looks close with 4" shorter wing and a glass fuse verses wood for the petral. The manuel is a joke, though not really needed if you have built an ARF or two, however the hardware for what appears to be a pull pull water rudder looks intriging The wing appears to be set up for no diehedrel? This will be my first non converted land plane. Any Tips or comments would be appeciated. I think there is another thread on this plane in this forum someplace. Mike Goodwin
