RE: Caldera SC10E Spur gear
I think I'll order the plastic gear, and set the punch to Level 3. I can just set it using the button on the esc. What should the gears sound like while powered, with the mesh set right? Or, if I got a smaller spur gear, i would get higher top speed, but would it make it easier to strip it, or would a bigger pinion gear be better to increase top speed?

Caldera SC10E Spur gear
I finnaly stripped my first spur gear! I think it was because the gear mesh wasn't set right, I heard a clack-ing noise when running it, but ignored it, and after about 5 runs of that, the spur gear was stripped. Is the Steel Spur Gear on RUFaster a good upgrade? Or should I just get the plastic one again? Any tips on how to set a gear mesh?

RE: Stock needle settings for Tornado Engine
The stock needle settings are 2.5-3 turns out from fully closed on the high and low speed needles. the idle screw should be set so the carb is open about 1mm. Hope this helps

RE: Installation of new C-carriers, Drive cups
I used the super glue trick, and it seems like its holding. if it strips again, I'll thing about the aluminum knuckles. Today I finally upgraded from the trickle wall charger, and got a Duratrax Onyx100. 25 minutes is so much better than 8 hours! [:D]

RE: Installation of new C-carriers, Drive cups
Thanks for the info, got them installed. Now I ran it and the screw going up through the c-carrier fell out, luckily i have spares, but would blue locktite fix this? When I move the tire that screw moves, so would locktite lock that up? Also, It seems like it doesnt turn as much turning right than turning left. The servo horn was hhitting the end of the battery tray, so I Cut a notch out but it still doesnt steer right. any fixes?

RE: Volcano EPX... battery...
Im not sure if the ESC is Lipo-ready, but you can just get a higher Mah Ni-Mh battery for longer runtimes. A 3800 Mah Battery came with my Caldera 10E, and I get about 15 minutes of runtime. That would cost about $35.00 for the battery. It charges in about 8 hours.

RE: *Official* Caldera 10E Video, Picture And Discussion Thread
Does anybody know what size screw is on the drive cup? It came loose once and I took it to the LHS, and they tightened it down for me, then I ran it again, and nothing broke. I ran it today, and the same thing happened. Would a new drive cup fix this?

RE: *Official* Caldera 10E Video, Picture And Discussion Thread
I was driving it around yesterday, and all of a sudden, I only had FWD. It looked like the drive cup fell off, but not completely, so I put it back on, and noticed the dogbone was sliding back and forth in the drive cups, like it was too short. Is there another part there that I may have missed?

RE: Bullet Connectors stuck together.
I fixed it. I didn't push them together enough, and there was a bad connection. I had to cut the plastic cover off of it to pull it apart.

Is there any place that sells just the retainer, or do I have to buy the set of 2 shocks?

I just ran it, and they seemed to be fine, but I'm going to solder on some Deans connectors soon.

RE: *Official* Caldera 10E Video, Picture And Discussion Thread
I fixed the temp. issue. Bad battery connection. It looks like I lost a lower spring retainer on the front right tire while driving it. Can I lightly run it around on pavement until new shocks come, or will that hurt the spring?

RE: Bullet Connectors stuck together.
I cut off the plastic over the male connectors, and then it pulled apart. I wasn't pushing them together far enough, so there was a bad connection, and it melted together a little, but it's fixed now. Thanks

Bullet Connectors stuck together.
After running my Caldera SC 10E, I went to pull the battery plugs off, and they were stuck together. Will I have to buy new connectors and solder them, or do I have to buy a new battery?

Bullet Connectors stuck together.
I was running my Caldera SC 10E, and the ESC kept shutting down, so I pushed the battery connecters together more, and it ran fine. Then, when tthe battery was dead, I went to pull them off, and they are stuck together. Is it melted together, and will I have to solder new connectors, or do I have to buy a new battery. It is the stock battery, 7.2v 3800MaH NiMH.

Well, my Caldera finally came yesterday, so I charged it up and took it for a spin... every 5 minutes it overheated and shut down. The motor and battery were really HOT. Any way to cool it down?

Hey guys, I just ordered a Caldera SC 10E yesterday from URC, and i was just wondering what parts I should order, beforehand, so when they break i'll have a replacement. Also, will a Caldera XB body & wing fit on it?
