My how time flys! Oddy, maybe post a new thread with a picture of your engine and a question about the prop adaptor. Good luck.

RE: Zenoah G23L - Any Experience?
Do I recall correctly; I thought there was a problem with one of the hedge trimmers having a reverse rotation that was causing problems with conversion several years ago. Just a caution if correct.

RE: Walbro wt391...What goes here ?
1) on the botton side, the side where I will attach the adapter, there are two small holes one each side the venturi. AS you can see on the picture above, one of them is blind the lower one, on the other the top one, there is a very tight hole, is there any problem if I close it with the adapter or do I need to do something about this small tight passage? 3) Does this carb uses any connection to the engine pressure, ir order to make the carb pump work?
Read more: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2813550/anchors_9809626/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#9809626#ixzz0rEOCmBye The small (very tight hole) is used to provide the suction from the engine to make the fuel flow properly through the carb. Make sure that mates properly to the small hole on the cylinder where you bolt the carb. (do not allow the gasket or any sealant to plug the hole or the carb will not run.)

how to resize ailerons and shaping
Building a mid-star 40 which came with 1/4" x 1"x 30" leading edge (LE) shaped ailerons. I plan to enlarge them to 1 1/4". I was given some 3/8" x 1.5" tapered aileron stock. My first thought was to just trim 1/4" off the LE. The problem is that at that location the stock will still be in excess of the 1/4" This is my first kit and not sure how best to proceed. Also any tricks on how to get that nice LE radius and once radiused any trick to locating center to install hinges?

RE: Engine has sat for 2 years after crash - Tips to put back in service
Update: did as I outlined, once drain of fuel it spun freely with starter, replaced plug, filled tank and bingo off it went no unusual sounds at full and went to idle and behaved itself. Tomorrow it goes in the air. Should the fresh fuel dissolve any remaining castor residue in the front bearing?

Engine has sat for 2 years after crash - Tips to put back in service
Thunder Tiger 46 survived a crash. Balance of fuselage was a bucket case. Engine had an air filter on at the time and it did not allow dirt into engine. It turned over and did not appear to be damaged. It has sat in a prop down position for 2 years, some castor oil has leaked thru the front seal. The fuel in plane had been enriched with castor to about 22% if I recall correctly. What should I do to put this back into service. My first thought is to put some fuel directly into carb and and plug hole, let it set for 30 minutes; flush it out by turining over by hand and then firing it off.

RE: what are the best bolts to attached the landing gear
Do you remember from the way back when, when the NEW nylon props came out. You had to boil them in water to condition them or they would fly apart on the engine. And if they survived a while boil them again. Maybe we should boil our We have 2-56 to 1/4-20 sizes plus matching nylon washers! nylon screws in water prior to using them.
Are you saying you are suppose to boil just the props and bolts? My planes have been rather heavy after I remove them from the bathtub. Humm

I had one piece missing from a Sig MidStar, that was quite late in arriving. Contacted Sig and the part was shipped promptly and carefully wrapped. Maybe someone can assist. Ordering via internet and using a discount code, is it possible to use a gift certificate on the order, if so just how is it done. Same order scenario, but you have a manufacture rebate you wish to use. I am a super saver member and want / need to take advantage of all offered savings. Thanks

RE: Been looking
Ralph, glad your are back at least for awhile on RCU. ( I miss your concise, often humorous comments. I admit going to the other forum just to check for your posts.) I hope the resolution of this erratic running engine is to your satifaction. I hope you continue to post comments on this site; it is a benefit to all who enjoy learning. The general consenus of this 5 page thread is that you will be missed if you hang up the business aspect of this hobby. It is a testament to your past and current reputation that customers and prospective customers stand firmly and encourage you to continue. Good luck and enjoy. (It is a shame our high schools no longer have shop classes that instill an interest in working with hand tools and craftsmen skills. Our nation is not replacing the craftsmen as they retire. Computer skills yes but working with hands and tools, sadly no.)

RE: Tower Hobby Phone sales people
Whirley Bird , man you have it tough!! Consider: 1)You can call and talk to them for a reasonable in-country fee. 2)You get shipments going through only one carrier not several. 3)You don't get to deal with Customs and Importation paper work. 4) I would bet your nearest LHS is within a 45 minute drive. Many times I do not receive my order for 30 days or more after shipping. Tower has made a few mistakes and have promptly satisfied each of my limited requests. You might do better by just going to your LHS and getting your supplies. My LHS is about 900 miles away. I rate them at least a 8.5 out 10.
