RE: Aero Works P-51?
thanks for your help.the warbird guys at our field all seem to think i have enough air exit from the exhaust pipes back towards the rear of the cowling.opening is 3 1/2 " long ending 1 1/2" from the rear edge of the cowl and 3" wide.also air can flow thru the fuse and exit at the rear of the supercharger air dump.it does'nt open or close.i just opened it up to help air flow.thanks again

RE: Aero Works P-51?
i got my first test flights in last sunday.the plane flew very well.first flight lasted about 2 1/2 mins and the engine shut down.landed fine and we richened up the high speed about 1/4 of a turn.it flew 5-6 mins and landed it after deciding it was too rich.engine is a DA 50,XOAR 22-8 prop for break in.cowling has 3/8"or more clearance around the head fins.i have since opened up the air scoop on the bottom of the cowling as much as i can without looking fugly.ign box is mounted inside the fuse about where the engine box meets the firewall.hav'nt flown it again and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

RE: Aero Works P-51?
has anyone had an issue with hitec hs 985mg servos? i am still trying to get mine done. i used these analog servos, everything hooked up and all worked fine.i had the landing gear converted to electric by down and locked,[excellent work and system, great guys to deal with] and when i plug in both systems, the servos go crazy.if i unplug the gear, all servos work fine.if i plug in the gear and unplug the flight surfaces, the gear works fine, can't use the two together.i did use a couple of ds 821 DIGITAL servos and everything works great together.any ideas? i am using a jr 9503 radio and a 921x rec. thanks all

RE: Aero Works P-51?
getting close to flying mine and was wondering about the fuel tank. does everyone use the stock tank.looks a bit small to me.i usually fly 10-12 mins, but sometimes a little longer in my nitro planes.maybe 12-15 min. i am using the da-50 and was wondering if this is enough witha little safety margin.
