RE: ESM P-51 Build thread
Well, it sell quick if I had it as the airframe only, but I've bundled it with the RCV 120SP, Scale Exhaust, Spinner and 4-blade prop.

RE: Pilatus PC-6 Porter Sport 150 ARF
A DA-50 on this plane is way to much engine for this size Pilatus Porter. I have a similar size Porter and fly it on a 120 Surpass.
ORIGINAL: Ice5 Mimoore67, What ever happened.. I want to do the 4 bladed also on my F4U what static thrust and rpm did you get. Jens, what did you come up with. It seems static thrust on these engines cant use ''normal'' 4 stroke static thrusts to compare.. being such a different animal.. this is really necessary to see what has worked best in the past. Thanks, Nickel

thanks, Tony! I'm sort of in the same boat as you! I'm attempting to put a retracting tailwheel in the TF P40 ARF, with closing gear doors! I think, I'm growing a tumor!

RE: Top Flite P-47D Thunderbolt ARF .60-.91: Building & Mods
Yeah, I agree with the care and maintenance of my "Big Lots" weed wacker, because I've got $65.00 invested in it and I use about 20 times a year! But, if I'm to lazy to shoot a couple of drops of after run oil (marvels mystery oil) in my 4 stroke, then shame on me! Gassers are nice especially in short moment/nose war-birds! Especially if you got a big round hold to fill! I've had them in the past and they were great and now they are so cheap! I prefer the sound of four strokes and I don't fly enough to worry about the cost of glow, because I'm lucky if I get through two gallons a season! What's nice about this airframe, is that it lends itself to all kinds of power options!

RE: Top Flite P-47D Thunderbolt ARF .60-.91: Building & Mods
I must say I see this thing all the time. Not only in the forums but at the flying field! These threads are a huge source of information and yes sometimes a question get asked a few times! So what if it does???? I too have scoured a thread looking for something that I read only to be not able to find it! I will always ask and 99% of the time get what I need along with some good advice! Remember there is no dumb question especially in a hobby like ours! Wether it's electric, gas or nitro it all flys! Encourage other and help one another! I teach online ethics to middle school kids! Remember don't say something online you wouldn't say in person! It's a hobby! Sorry for any typos or grammars, I'm doing this on my phone!
I have bought this plane. I will be using a RCV120SP, with the Keleo Scale exhaust, and Beila semi scale four bladed prop. However, I may not start it for another year!

Best wishes and speedy recovery, Darrel and Theodora. I agree, it's the person who wasn't being responsible, who is responsible for their accident. Life happens, unfortunately, it's those who aren't responsible for themselves or respect the rights of others, that cause things like this.

Okay, I'm back! Well I hope to be in the shop tonight! Need a bit of motivation! I'm using the[link=http://www.robart.com/products/40-size-retractable-mini-tailwheel]Robart 40 size Retract Tailhweel[/link] . I cut out in between the two bulkheads where the tailwheel, should go. If anyone has any pictures to how they mounted there's, I need to kick start my brain again, as I walked away from this project when the weather got nice! Thanks Michael!

None, what so ever! There is a bit of a difference in strut length between the ARF version and the kit. Check with Darrel at www.sierraprecision.com if you have any questions.

RE: Siai Marchetti SF260 ARF
Well, I'm at a stand still! What I need to do, is obtain a set of oleo struts from a ESM PC-21, that will give me the trailing link landing gear to keep this plane looking right. I've stripped off all my covering and have done significant mods to the airframe.

Bacon, Like the cowl flaps. I was thinking of doing the myself, but I think I'll hold off till later. Maybe that will be a mod, on down the line. Well AFTER ONE WEEK, my tail wheel retract got here from Tower! Is it just me, but it seems it should take one week (5 Business Days) to get something from Illinois to Michigan, via the standard shipping? Well the Robart 122 40 size tail looks like it will work!

RE: Mig 17 at Airshow
The Flying Rock! Just a side note! We use to have one of these at my home airport KJXN it was always interesting when the owner would come back from a flight, he would have to land it on the numbers because our runway is 5,000 ft in length. This particular Mig was all Black and look like a big bat in the pattern.

No Luck on the CNC Router! So, if you want your in Brass you'll have to cut it yourself. Chad, are you interested in "Kitting" the tailwheel retract in wood?

I like the fact that the lower half of the fuselage is removable, which should make easier installation of a retract in the tail. I'll be seeing my Brother-n-law today and I'll see if he has a CNC Router to cut the parts! M

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!
Chad, That sounds like a plan! I've been a fan of your work for years and I agree if you could build these out of wood, it would be a nice modification. I could build one out of wood too, but if you could kit the tail wheel that would be better for me, as I'm in "Full Dad" mode most of the time. So, a kit would help me out immensely.

RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!
A few years back there was an extensive thread on building retractable tail wheel for a 1/8 Corsair. Now, we'll have to wait and see what if any modifications will have to be made if anyone wants to scale up their TF Corsair ARF a bit. RE: I Saw it! TF 60 Size Corsair ARF!!!!!
Good discussion on the particular variant of the corsair. I hope this is not to jumping ahead to far, but is there any interest in someone developing or planing or creating plans for a "semi-scale" retract for the tail wheel? Reason being, I've followed some of the threads on Royal Corsair where the guy's have created some pretty nice tail wheels. I would be willing to pay for one. I've committed myself to obtaining this ARF, due to the fact of how impressed I am with the TF P40 and the Sierra Retracts! I have a RCV 90SP that can swing a big old prop on this bird! Plus, I need a round engine airplane in my stable! Any takers on the Tail wheel design! (CHAD Viech ???????????)
