RE: os engines and carbs!
ok if you want the 20E carb, the OS engine i know it is on is the OS RZ series of engines, and Yes the 20E carb fits a hyper, i currently use one on my hyper.... secondly, i believe the OS RG engines carb, the 20B also fits the hyper.

RE: Iliminator 20% fuel?
on the other hand... for the oil to settle out of fuel, one of the blending agents wouldn't be working.... one of the 3, and if were to settle out, there would be no bringing it back.... oil and water don't mix no matter how much you shake them up right... well same idea... if this were the case you should be able to visiably see the seperation.

RE: Fail Safe Switch on my EB4 S2
i thought it might be the servos..... what kind of batteries are you running.... if they are weak, they might not stand up to the high torquers.... why not use a standard race servo for throttle and break..... you don't really need a High torque for breaking.... just try another type of high torque i guess... maybe that one it just doesn't like....

RE: Iliminator 20% fuel?
hey, check your slipper clutch on your Tmaxx, that could be why it bogs down... and gets hot,.... see if it is 1/2 turn from tight... i think that si where it is supposed to be.... that could cause the boggy in the grass and not on the pavement..... also they do have a tendency to come loose from time to time... and if it is slipping the engine would be reving but going no where hence it would heat up...

RE: Iliminator 20% fuel?
yeah, just make sure you listen to you motor... you should know if it sounds too lean... or too rich... but usually loss of power is rich.... because it has happened to me when i changed fuels... just watch the temps, so you don't damage anything... and have some fun!

RE: Iliminator 20% fuel?
if you go from a fuel with 12% oil to 18% oil you will have to lean it out a bit to get the same performance... because your engine might be having a hard time clearing out the oil.... the "Flash point" of your fuel has changed, causing your motor to stay "loaded" with excess oil..... and that oil is staying inside and preventing the engine from running as strong as before.... ALSO if you engine is not burning all the fuel, it works a little harder, and it is also harder for the exhaust to get out, and the result of that is Heat. your motors heat will climb..... one thing to check is, bring your truck to a stop... does the temp climb still at idle? or does it go down? if it goes up... your engine is running loaded... lean a little, try again(could also chech by the pinch the fuel line test to see if it is rich or lean)..... just don't go too far.... watch the temps... hope this helps a bit. PS i used to use That fuel all the time, and never had 1 problem with it.... it just go too expensive up here, so i switched to something else...

RE: Fail Safe Switch on my EB4 S2
well the repeated use of a "Bad" servo.... say it is drawing too much current... could cause things to heat up... also... nitro eats plastic, if a little bit got on there... who knows.

RE: OS20E Carb for 8 Port in the UK
correct i guess it is 15mm, never checked.... But it is a tight fit, and wroks GREAT!!! the thing is the 20B carb is a little more expensive because the RZ motor is one of OS's most expensive engines....

RE: Fail Safe Switch on my EB4 S2
ok, here is one thing that hasn't been asked yet.... what kind of servos are they? I heard that the glitching that is occuring, by your failsafe kicking in and out could be due to the Servos. I am an Electronic Technologist, and i fix radios on a daily basis.... Now with a High Torgue servos, when they are turned they suck alot of initial current causing the failsafe to kick in.... then after the initial movement is done, it doesn't draw as much current... this could cause you battery pack to get warm.... hence the melted plastic..... so you could have a problem with one of your servos.... try unplugging one servo at a time and test, then see what happens..... Let us know... i have a few other things you can try... but try this first.

RE: Disaster :(
well either way, i believe the problem is either the switch or the receiver, but if it was the RX, then you would have seen smoke there too, so i think it would be the switch....and since it is all new, i would contact the place where you bought it from... and ask for a replacement, on Warranty.... As for starting it, i think it might be hyper locked as well, but there is no need for taking everything off it.... just back out the glow plug and thats it.... once the glow plug is out... it will relieve the pressure, and you should be able to pull it again... or if the cord is stuck out... just turn the flywheel once the plug is out... and it should suck back in.

RE: wont hit second gear
Ok, did you check to see if the grub screw that holds that gear in place didn't back out(there used to be a "To Do Thread" when you get a savage... don't know where it went)?? if it did... that gear will just spin and not ingage..... and you will usually have to take your tranny apart to put it back in.... check that, because it can cause alot of greef and cause more damage... Sorry keep forgeting these things.. :) ummm.... was it an RTR savage or a kit SS savage?? if RTR you should take that crub srew out and locktite it even if it isn't whats wrong.... because it might become a problem later on.... No you are saying it is stuck in First right? i am not beeing a prick, but are you sure? Does you motor prematurly rev out? going very slow with motor screaming?... Now how much running have you done on that truck? it is possible that the spring and ball has to get replaced in the 2 speed.... but more often than not... i have seen the plactic "kind of" melt onto the 2 speed houseing, causing the little arm to just slide across the gear rather than engaging... or that crub screw comes loose....

RE: Traxxas Fuel
how can you say "I wouldn't say BT is bad just wouldnt be the best performer for the engines in the savages".... really, Blue thunder in my mind is WAY better than traxxas fuel... I personally have run both, and it seems you have to run your .21 engines Way leaner with Traxxas fuel to get the same results... and i don't like that idea!!..... i have heard different things about Traxxas fuel, but it is only here say... so i don't really want to say any of that... That Traxxas fuel likes smaller engines..... but i use home made fuel now and i just make it how i want it.

RE: Savage 25 break in question
True to that!!! For people just getting into RC, it is kind of good to get the kits, because they know how everything goes together, and if something isn't right.... they should know where to go to get to it..... as you get more experienced, you just usually know whats wrong, and what has to get done, and building the kits are just the icing on the cake :):) Nothing beats getting that nice box in the mail or from the store..... and putting it together!!

[/quote] If it is that cold, take a hair dryer, and warm up your motor.... or a heat gun... heat it up to like 200 or as close as you can get, then try starting it.... it should start right up, but make sure you don't run too lean, due to the fact colder air is denser.....

adding bigger tires, will make you accel. a little slower but your top end higher when it gets there..... to counter act this you can drop 2 teeth on your clutch bell, which would give it the over all same effect... and also is a lot easier to do.

i Definity know from experience that you can charge ANY battery at 1C. if you want to work the batteries you can charge them at 2C BUT you have to watch the TEMP, and make sure they don't go over 60 Degrees Celcius, if so, you may damage the chemistry inside.

go do your research, first.. also the worst thing in the world is to just shut an engine off when it is THAT hot.... you let it idle down for a few minutes... then shut it off.
