RE: SIKK Motor issue
ORIGINAL: rat now Hey thanks, I do respect Rons advice as Ive read alot of his post. Man deffinatly has the experience. Next question is which thickness do I get or do I get several and check the squish on all of them? I wasnt very excited about putting silicone back on it.
a friend told us to get a silver soider wire or plastic gage.. bend it like a allen wrench..stick it in the spark plug hole. then turn the motor over..after the pistion squish it then mic it..that should telll you what gasket thickness in thousands or mm you need for it.. its like checking your car crank clearance.. you would plastic gage it after you tork the crank bolts to see if your in specks..

RE: SIKK Motor issue
OK,To better answer this question better... You need that gasket! plain and sim ple!..On joe's 23 full mod zen,his friend sudjust to joe to just use RTV instead of the head gasket... well it rubbed at the top of the stroke..Then joe put the wright gasket and it did the trick!.. Do it the wright way.. We got two of the 2 bolt sikk's.. one went bad ,but will rebuild it.. need bearings and ring and gasket, this is on the mod motor.. was told by acouple of guys ,sikk motors are junk..We beg to differ on that.. Ask Ron Olson about it.. He saw it in joes rigger at the gas nats...Joe ran a backup sikk engine and that ran like a scolded dog...

RE: custom paintjobs
ORIGINAL: rat now What do your paint jobs average say for a boat like a Shockwave 55? I know it dependends on the complexity of the job. Just want a ball park number. I used to do custom paint on motorcycles but I no longer have a place or equipment to do it. I have a Blackjack and a Shockwave I want to do something on. thanks
the proublem with custom paint job is..you better not race it,or other wise if you do ,it can get damaged for other boats..i can custom paint ,but i do my boats simple so i can easly re touch it up..joe been paint olsons boats ive been paint other boats and we re cheaper in price ..we can do it less then 250.00..it all depends on colors too..beside graphics

RE: FULL OF QUESTIONS THIS WEEKEND...
ORIGINAL: Hydro Junkie Misshydro, two coments: 1) You need to find a bigger pond, that one is too short to really open up a rigger 2) If you go through the forums and see who says to bench run an engine to break it in, you will normally find other posts by that same person complaining about how much of a hassle it is to retrieve a new boat during the break in process and how much faster

RE: FULL OF QUESTIONS THIS WEEKEND...
If thats the point, dont want to retieve it..? When we run our boats ,we run them close by so if it dies ,we can walk in the water to retrieve them. The water at the inwards in where the rigger is at is mid chest high..and after that can get up to 25 feet deep...[link]http://www.youtube.com/user/misshydro[/link]

RE: avenger spider/ rigger
If this the boat your talking about, that .32 dynamite will dynamite...That motor is to small for that size of hull. You wont get the speeds you want out of that hull.. you need a .45 engine in that hull...we just pickedup a gas version of that rigger..

RE: .12 Rigger Kits for CHEAP!
ORIGINAL: advanced builder What about a twin .18 ???? what class is that?? open rigger. one question on a twin. How do you reverse the rotation on one engine. Or do the both run the same? I know how to do a large engine.
On glen's /nova rossi usa ,his twin.12 spin the same direction.,counter clockwise. with the same props...thats what he told joe on the phone.if that true blackout..then .18 should be in the sport.20 class too.

RE: .12 Rigger Kits for CHEAP!
ORIGINAL: advanced builder I'm not sure on the RULES. but a .18 OS why not. It's your pond. We can make our own class. .12-18 .Prop said He's READY for his .12 on Thursday. I have this .18 Go that's setting collecting dust. Mike TT sold me a .18 GO front exhaust. But I use the piston stop that came with the engine. I don't know how I lived without it. Amax loved his side exhaust.
that should be legal..any motor under.21 is legal to race in a hydro..now joe is going to make two jae's.. one .12 and a twin.12.. all will be ran by traxxas 3.3=.20 piston in them.. Rod G told joe thaT and also sudjested joe to run the 3.3..said that motor has alot protenals to run in the jae's..Joe got one 3.3 from toyotatrucking....

RE: .21 Zippkit ready to go
I wouldnt even think about jb welding my engine block. Tig weld is way stronger and better then jb weld plus with tig your adding alum back to your engine block.shimmimng what liner?.the pistion clyender? Rod Geraghty did that with my Axe rossi.12 cobra..if thats it ,then I say you can. Oh Joe friend, girlfriend won a .21 JAE kit at the races in celina.. She got hacked/pick on about it.. saying your not a racer and dont deserve it..She did race a gas boat..Well guess who they ask to put that together for them?? They asked joe since he's got them down pat in building them. Joe is glad because he needs too see it on building that twin.12 JAE.
