RE: MRP -- What happened to them?
Does anyone have any idea of where you can get any of their old boats? Mainly the Bud Dry Catamaran. I have been looking for one for years on ebay.... ? Could there possibly be one sitting at some hobby shop somewhere, or were they all sent back to MRP? Mike

RE: Use Airplane Motor in Boat?
Ok the cooling is no problem. But I definatly figured the 40FX would move my 3.5 (28" mono). If it really isnt going to be that fast, maybe im just better off saving the money from not buying the gear to convert it, and just buy a good 3.5 marine engine... Any thoughts? Mike

Use Airplane Motor in Boat?
I have an OS 40FX laying around from an old plane. Can I somehow rig this with water cooling coils and use it in a 3.5cc Mono or similar hull? Anyone have any info on how to adapt it to fit flex drive or rig with a starter belt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike mkuzmukerau@hotmail.com

Saito 100 Vibration/Spinner Problems
The engine bolts are pretty cranked down, so I doubt the engine could be moving.... And anyway, I notice the change in gap between the spin backplate and the cowl front when turning it over by hand slowly. as you rotate it back and forth 180 deg you can see that something is outta wack..... Mike

Saito 100 Vibration/Spinner Problems
Allright, now I got problems.... Picked up a Tru Turn Spinner, mounted it up, and I notice that as I spin the prop by hand, the gap between the spinner back plate and the front of the cowl changes slightly..... Maybe it was this problem that spit my first spinner to pieces while on the ground...... I engine went in due to a bad firewall on an earlier plane, so maybe that crash bent the crankshaft, what does everyone think? Is there any other options??? Mike

Saito 100 Vibration/Spinner Problems
I have a brand new Saito 100, mounted it to my P-51, and carefully carved the prop slots in a CBA/Acetone 3.5" P51 Spinner to perfectly match my APC prop. Fired it up rich, so she was sputtering and missing every once in a while, and spitting alot of oil, but when I kicked the RPM up the Spinner shatter sending pieces everywhere..... I really dont feel like spending another 6 hours on carving out a spinner, I might go with a pre cut Aluminum Tru Turn or Dave Brown.... Any ideas on what the heck happened? I hope I dont have a bent crankshaft or anything... The plane was really bouncing around but I figured it was just from the rich setting, but maybe not. Also can you paint an aluminum spinner to match a scheme? Im worried the starter will take it right off, but at the same time silver doesnt look similiar to red??!?!? HELP?!?!?!? Mike

H9 P-51 Firewall Crash... :(
Just to close this thread, this is the way things worked out. They had me ship it back to them, so I cut it up into peices and off it went. The only thing they asked was that the firewall area be left intact for examination. Didn't hear anything from them since. However 2 weeks later a large box was delivered to my from Hangar 9. Apon opening it, it was a brand new H9 P-51. I still lost quite a bit of cash in the failure of the 1st, ie: a servo, 4 cans of Lustercote Flat clear, and a whole LOT of detailing time, BUT, they really could have shafted me on this one and they didnt. I am extremly pleased with H9's customer support and recommend their airplane kits to EVERYONE!! Mike

H9 P-51 Firewall Crash... :(
I spoke with Horizon today, told them the situation, they said they never heard of any fire wall problems, well at least the person I was speaking with hadn't on the P-51, but gave me a reference number and told be to box it up and ship it to them, for a possible replacement. I'm still a bit cautious and not trying to get too excited, as I did have alot of extra money poured into the plane that cant be replaced, but if they did replace the stock plane I would be absolutley thrilled..... I'll keep everyone posted on the final verdict.... Mike

H9 P-51 Firewall Crash... :(
Holeshot and Searcher, Unfortunatly, I bought the kit at a hobby shop that was hours away from my home town at the time, they were the only ones that had it in stock, my normal shop didnt. Now I have moved several states away, and as you can see in quite the situation.... The incident did happen at a low altitude, but also they way it broke is what made the crash. I think if it would have simply seperated cleanly I could have dead sticked it it... But it broke 80%, and was attached to the plane only by the control linkages and some remaining split wood. The weight of this think hanging down in the air, and the rpm of the motor is really what made for disaster..... Its sunday, so im not going to be able to do anything today, but do you think I should call Hangar 9/Horizon? Mike

H9 P-51 Firewall Crash... :(
Took my H9 P51 up today for the first time.... Flew amazing... On the third flight the firewall broke away partially, but remained intact, putting the bird into a crazy uncontrollable spin, ending up with a meeting with the ground. Im really pissed because it wasnt my fault, but I dont think H9 will do anything about it... Anyone else have any experience with this? I probably will call just to complain, but arent expecting much..... Any ideas? Mike

H9 P51 CG Measurement...
Smitty, Thanks a bunch for the help. So far my setup looks like this. Saito 100, Bob Dively cockpit, Exterior coated with Lustercote flat clear, guns, gun smoke, and some aging. I really want to keep the stock wheels, but my Hitec Retract servo (92ozT) isnt getting them all the way up and locked. I shimmed the rear of the gear also to angle the struts somewhat more foward, hopefully that will help the nose over issue..... I would love to see some pics of yours.... email is topgun428@attbi.com Thanks, Mike

H9 P51 CG Measurement...
H9 states the CG for their P51D should be at 4.75" from the leading edge... Model Airplane News said 5" prevented noseovers with no bad flight characteristics...... Where is this measured from? Wing next to fuselage or beginning of leading edge after angleback? Thanks in advance.... Mike

H9 P51 Receiver Antenna Routing?
I finally got my H9 P-51 just about ready to fly. My Saito 100 is broken in with a gallon of Wildcat 10%, and I have the retracts modified and finally working right. But where is everyone routing their antennas???? The scale location is out of the rear of the canopy to the tip of the tail, but I am not sure how it will look to be a white wire instead of a skinny silver one as is scale. Any other options on where to run and hide the darn thing?
