RE: Banana Hobby not making refunds
I have ordered 2 planes from them. i really love the planes, however, their customer service is horrible. I had an issue with a battery, and they said they would charge me for a new one to be shipped, and when i returned the bad one they would refund me. Im still waiting on the battery. But like i said, the planes are pretty cool, i got the big FA18, the F16 w/ vectored thrust, and just ordered the F14. Ill keep an eye on this forum to see how things go for those that are having problems.

well, it came today. i ran a few tanks thru it. its kinda cool. there is no way you could put a big block in thgis thing and not destroy it. maybe an .18 would work well. i didnt finish break it, but it wheelies even when ritch. i bought it cause its different. its gonna be fun to bash around. ill let ya know when its finnaly tuned to see how fast it goes. later

RE: HPI SAVAGE 5T!!!
ive had no problem with my k 5.9 at all, for a stock engine, it rips just fine. i have a few piccos as well in other trucks, but the k 5.9 i think is one of the better stock engines. just my 2 cents. ill prob. buy the 5t.

RE: ATTENTION ALL XXL OWNERS
well, i installed the foward only conversion kit, AND INSTALLED THE MISSING BEARING AND SPACER. all i can say is its a totally different truck. it NEVER rolled on the floor with out resistance until now. hudge difference. imagine running this thing with no rear bearing and spacer in the transmission. ill install the engine tom. night and then run it, but im happy i found this issue. i also installed the high performance brake pads like i have on my lst 2, it rolls so smooth. ill be calling horizon about this.

RE: Picoo .26 red dot problems again
my red dot is insane in my revo, wheelies on command with only part throttle, top speed is easily ove 50 mph. i love that engine, but it does take some time to break in. good luck.

RE: question for the engine guys?
i disagree, the k engine is better. i have a k4.6 that i bought when the savage x 1st came out. i complianed to tower about my savage x 4.1, so i paid another 30 bucks and they sent me a k4.6 going on 5 gallons and the thing is a beast. runs perfect everytime, wheelies on command, and with the 3 speed my savage x screams. maybe i got a good one, but its one of my better running engines. the k engine revs higher than the f engine. i cant say 1 bad thing about my k engine, and ive had it for 2 years.

RE: ATTENTION ALL XXL OWNERS
well, i asked you a while back about the ton of play i had, and you said check the bearing, so i thought i would tear it down tonight because my forward only kit will be here tom. i knew something was wrong the same day i pulled it out of the box. im glad i found it, thanks for your input, it was a great help..

ATTENTION ALL XXL OWNERS
ive been busy so i havnt been able to post much. I started the other thread on getting the xxl. ive read the entire thread, and there is alot of very good info. posted on it. i was the first to complain about the xxl initial quaility. I'm certainly not a noob to the hobby, as i have about 6 other rc vehicles, not to mention many planes and heli's. Any way, i found MAJOR FLAW in my xxl. I know i posted the initial find on the just recieved my xxl thread. But i got a chance to tear down the truck and this is what i found. Sugarfree, if im wrong, please correct me, i know your a very knowledgable guy when it comes to losi. i have an lst2, and i just installed a foward conversion kit. so im pretty fimiliar with the transmission. i stated some where in the other thread that i had a ALOT of play from the REAR cup that comes out of the transmission going to the rear diff. i mean i could move the entire cup back and forth 1/4 of an inch. The front cup coming out of the transmission going to the front diff was nice and snug, no play. SUGARFREE suggested i check the bearing in the transmission. well my foward conversion kit is on its way from horizon, so i thought i would pull the transmission out tonight. THERE WAS A TON OF PLAY FROM THE REAR CUP THE THE DRIVE SHAFT SLIDES INTO ON THE TRANSMISSION AFTER I REMOVED IT FROM THE VEHICLE. WHEN I SPERATED THE TRANSMISSION, THERE WAS NO BEARING AND NO SPACER INSTALLED. THEY WERE MISSING. I loked at the manual of the xploded view of the transmission, and it shows a bearing ( part # A6940 ) and a spacer (part # b3127). THESE PARTS WERE NOT IN THE TRANSMISSION FROM THE FACTORY. I had an extra bearing and a spacer so i installed them, and the slop was totally gone. The bearing i used was not exact, as it had a flange on it, so the transmission cases didnt completly close when i bolted them together. im picking up a bearing tom. Im sure this is a big factor on the grinding noises when braking, and the free rolling resistance i had. Check the play form the cup going to your rear diff. im sure this will be a big improvment on noises as well as performance.

RE: LST 2 forward only conversion kit
thank you again sir, you seem to have all the answers to lst issues. my xxl finally is running good, but it locks up after i run it. even with the brakes totally off, it still locks. i took apart the diffs and filled them with 10k diff fluid. im about to toss this thing in the garbage.

RE: Just recieved my XXL
Let me know what they say, i said in the very begining of the post when i got my 1st xxl that i took apart a diff because it was grinding, thats why i sent it back. i did get another truck, and im not having great luck with this one either. could be me, but i have very little issues with all my other vehicles. the high idle is pretty bad on mine. ill seal the carb and try again, clicking noise is real loud. all the typical things that people in here have been dealing with. if anyone has any ideas on the high idle let me know, im not sure i follow the 'TEAR DOWN THE CARB. AND MAKE SURE THE NEEDLES SEAT" thing. but im open to anything. ive been using trinity 30% fuel, and have had great luck with my other trucks. thanks

RE: XXL Question
mine did the same thing, i didnt run any fuel thru it so i sent it back. after finding the truck had some resistance rolling i pinpoited the problem to a piss poor rear diff. was grinding. i got a refund, but i did order another one from ulitmate hobbys. ill keep you posted on what i find when i get this one.

RE: Just recieved my XXL
+1. and i simply stated the cases didnt line up properly, and the black paint was pealing. i undertsand its a light radio, i just know i wasnt very impressed with it. im glad yours is working out good for you, and your enjoying it. seems like you love yours, and thats awesome. Thats what this hobby is all about right, having fun! keep us posted on your futher break in and tuning, im really curious to see if it does in fact do close to 50 mph.

RE: Hellfire or Savage?
both are totally different vehicles. are you racing or bashing ? i can tell you i i had a hellfire, and if its a truggy you want, thats NOT the one to buy. over priced, very heavy ect. if you want a tough truck, the savage is awesome, either the 4.6 or the xl 5.9

RE: Just recieved my XXL
lol, just wondering if you have yours yet? my point about the radio was that posts above said that your getting a $250 radio. i was simply saying that it does look VERY SIMILAR to the DX3R, but its a better quaility radio, thats all. i know the xxl states is comes with the DX3S, i just want people to realize there is a difference. im thinking on maybe ordering another xxl in the near future, and ultimate hobby does list it at $599, but they dont have any in stock at the moment. Let me know how you make out with yours .

RE: Just recieved my XXL
Not trying to stir the pot any further, but someone said above about the high quaility radio. again, im not starting any ****, but i didnt think the radio was all that great either. i know its a $250 radio, but the one that came with mine felt kinda cheap, the cases didnt line up, the flat black paint was all scratched, and it kinda felt a little flimsy. i can tell you its certainly not the DX3R. they do LOOK similar, but they are totally different. Im really bummed out, because the xxl LOOKED so awesome next to my other trucks. maybe i did get a lemon. id like people to continue their reviews of the xxl, because i really would like to buy one, id just like it to be pretty close out of the box. again, just my 3 cents. im glad some people out there are having positive results with theirs, ive seen some vids and the xxl looks really awesome when dialed in.

RE: Just recieved my XXL
well, then ill post. i have many rc vehicles, lst2, revo with upgrades, savage x w/ a k4.6, savage xl, baja ss. i believe i started this thread, not that it matters. But when i got my xxl, for the price there asking, i would expect it to be pretty damn near perfect. my xxl was far from it. when i rolled the truck on the ground out of the box, there was a lot of resistance and noises that didnt seem normal to me. I pulled the rear diff, and the mesh was so bad, it was grinding. The brakes were not dragging, as i checked the linkage and maunally made sure the brakes were off. Im glad i didnt put a drop of fuel it it. I sent it back and got a refund because i think the build and quality was piss poor. I love my lst2, but the xxl for the money out of the box was not what one would expect for a truck of this price and so called caliber. If at some point they get it right, i may reconcider. my savage xl out of the box was far superior and $120 less. I was very dissapointed at the build and over all quailty of the xxl. If there are some people out there that are happy with it, and the performance it what the expected than thats cool, and i wish them the best with their xxl. I was nothing but dissapointed when i started to inspect and check it. A main was cool and gace me a refund because again, i didnt put a drop of fuel in it. maybe the next batch from Losi will be better............. just my 3 cents
