Help Identify this kit
I received this aircraft in a lot of goodies that I bought. It is set up with twin motors and electric. I don't have any plans for the plane, but it looks pretty complete. Let me know if you know anything about the plane. I might even try to finish it up!

RE: Norvel 061
I found a Cox thimble drone 5.5x4 in a lot of props that I have. I am going to start with that and see where it goes. Will tank size and position affect my 061? Im thinking I have access to a 1 oz tank. Not sure about a 2. I am going to use small line. The engine will be mounted upright. I have good memories with a sig hummer and the novel 049.

Norvel 061
What prop and fuel should I run on my norvel 061? Im assuming the 6x3 like the 049? I think we always ran 30% in the 049 also. Do I need that much nitro?

RC8e with mamba 2200
While racing last weekend, my rc8 with mamba was sliding around alot. I ran my nitro buggy some too and it wasn't sliding around quite as bad. I swapped tires thinking that was the trouble, but it still slid around the same. Am I getting too much power? My top end speed seems to be pretty well in line with the nitro. I'm running 4s and the pinion that was recommended. I am also running nearly -50% expo with my futaba radio. Do I need to hook up a castle link and tune the motor/ esc that way? Does throttle expo work through my radio?

RE: My first day with the Blade MCPX - Review and Videos
What a sweet little heli. It is quite stable and takes the abuse!! I have been trying to flip it and keep hitting the ground only to straighten the blades and try it again. The motor cuts on impact. I think that is key to saving the parts. Mine doesn't want to seem to hold inverted. Maybe Ill have to check the pitch. I better get some work done before my wife shows up.

I took a picture of these pins at a local race. Anyone know where I can buy the keeper? I like it. The owner bought the car second hand and didn't know where to get the keeper.

Do the hardware store paints for plastics work well on the bodies? I don't plan to expose it to any nitro.

RE: Sailplane mount on a trainer
Steve was into the snow up to his waist. There is a very small ravine there, and the snow filled in the area. We had a great time. I really enjoyed flying the glider. I wish I could have kept it up longer. I flew it maybe 10 minutes. The skis (mainly the nose) wanted to dig into the deep snow. I think we restarted the plane three times before we finally got a good launch. We almost flew it from the driveway. I had to walk the plane out a ways, then help it get started. The first time he tried to cut me loose, the glider didn't want to leave the trainer. I was banging the rudder and elevator pretty hard and it finally broke free. The second launch it finally popped free. It was such a good flight, I didn't even notice my hands were really cold. I don't fly with gloves and had abandoned the transmitter mitten.

There is no chloroplast in the plane. I just thought the post would be most welcomed by the spad forum. And yes, the skis have been tested and work good.

RE: Sig Riser 100 Throttle/Spoiler servo
ORIGINAL: scaflock Brian I agree with OzMo. The setup like you're thinking is a sure-fire way to disaster. A servo for each function will be required. A throttle saver on the servo for the engine is a good idea and is easy to make up with a couple of small springs and some collars. A great way to set up your spoilers is to have a rod with two collars on it. The set screws should be extra long so the loops of the spoiler strings can slip over them. Make one string about a 1/2 inch shorter than the other. The short one will go on the collar that's closest to the wing and the long one on the other. You can then adjust the strings very easily with an Allen wrench by moving the collars until the strings are snug and locking the collars in place. String spoilers can be a pain to set up at the field and this is the easiest way I've found to adjust them in almost 35 years of flying sailplanes.
How big should the rod be? Does it attach to the servo? Do I need to mount it? Do you have a picture?
