ORIGINAL: Damo260
ORIGINAL: mr_matt
ORIGINAL: Dr Honda Personally... if a company is going to have a ''USA'' supplier... then they need to stock the models, and give me a legit price on the shipping.
As a Rep for FEJ the price list that FEJ gave me is the same prices around the world only reason the price would change for example when I do the exchange rates form US dollars to Australian dollars we might pay more or less it depends on the day of the exchange rates but that’s only time the price are different. Damo
Except that customers that buy direct from the factory get a discount on shipping. Dealers don't and have to wear the whole freight cost.

RE: Who sells Fly Eagle Jets in the US?
ORIGINAL: Dr Honda There is a guy in San Perdo CA... but I don't think he stocks anything. I contacted them at the end of last summer about a model... and it was going to be +$300 and 3~4 weeks to ship. (obviously coming from China) CARF did the same thing to me when I asked about a Rookie in February... but they needed 10 weeks to ship!!!!. Personally... if a company is going to have a ''USA'' supplier... then they need to stock the models, and give me a legit price on the shipping. Otherwise... I want it for the standard ''Overseas'' pricing. Needless to say... I didn't buy a model from either of them, because I find it completely unacceptable to do business that way.
Tony, I understand your thoughts on US suppliers stocking models. Just consider the number of different models that FEJ has, and then times that by the number of different paint jobs the models each have and see whether you would be able to afford to stock them all!

RE: New Turbine on The Block
ORIGINAL: Mike06659 This just reminds me of the amount of companies producing turbines that have come and gone over the past ten years. It seems they run an ad for a year or so never to be seen again after that period of time. I think it's harder then they think to compete in the R/C Turbine Business. Turbine companies that have died :( I-Jets RAM FTE JetJoe Copy ''Forget the name?'' I know there is more
Are you talking about these I-Jets Turbines? [link=http://www.i-complete.com.my/i-jets/listproducts.php?catid=1&cattxt=Engines]I-Jets[/link] Geez, maybe I should call the factory to see if they are still producing, oh wait I don't have to as I have you to keep me up to date on what my manufacturer is doing. Thanks for the info Mike. Ps. I think you'll find they are still producing engines if you cared to get the facts.

RE: photos of factories
ORIGINAL: SCALECRAFT
ORIGINAL: Airplanes400
ORIGINAL: figueroa Wow, I can't believe they don't even have decent chairs to sit in.
Neither can I. Geeze, these jet manufacturers charge $3500 ~ $7000 for a jet, and they can't even get decent chairs and tables for their employees! No wonder why some of the jets have QC issues. The poor girl. I'm going to send a chair to her so she doesn't have to sit on a thermos jug.
The factories don't charge that much, the resellers do. Imagine when Hobbyking starts to sell large stuff. Even with shipping not going to be 3k. Steve

Scale craft, If you have ever been a reseller you would know that the margins are not that big. If for example, you aligned your prices with the price the factory in china was selling them for direct to the consumer. The factory then gives you a 15% discount but...... because you are a dealer they charge you the full shipping of say $500US for a A10. The customer baulks at the shipping and says 'I can get it cheaper direct'. Then you have to absorb some of the shipping cost and you margin gets smaller....... Then the factory changes the dealer pricing structure and doesn't tell you so that when you take an order you are out of pocket. Then they say 'We new pricey swucture, you should know this'. Does that look like a large profit to you?

RE: So what would you do in this situation?????
ORIGINAL: willig10 If it happened to me. I would of course be upset, and who wouldn't? We all work hard on our planes and of course do not appreciate some knuckle head running into them. If the guy did in fact make the statement that he was in control of his aircraft then he should also be in control of his pocket book and ante up for incurred damages that HE caused. It takes a good man to walk away and more than likely I would have done the same but I sure would have let the guy who hit my plane know that I was upset. For a guy to hit another persons plane and try to walk away as if nothing happened. In my opinion he should not have been flying at that site to begin with. It is funny how someone's ego will allow him to fly with the big boys but not be man enough to take responsibility for his own actions. I am sorry for your inconvenience this guy caused you. I hope it is not too much of a hassle to get it repaired. I wish you well                           Regards                                           Glenn Williams
Hey Will, can you clarify what 'the big boys' means?

RE: How is the JD Enterprise JDE 54 Turbine
ORIGINAL: johnnyjet As much as I love this hobby when it comes to turbines instant gratification is not all ways possible. Almost 2 years ago I ordered a turbine from another well-known company. (Whom I chose not to name) I was promised a delivery date, the date came and went after weeks of missed promises I canceled the order. This would have been my second turbine. Last year at FL jets I walked in to this another well-known company s tent and introduced my self we talked about how supply and demand can make us look like, well you know. This scenario has happened with every turbine jet company that has been doing business for any length of time! I am lead to believe that the jet community is the cream of the crop and we set an example for the rest of the modeling community. Cactusflyer john So, I know how you feel along with many others who have traveled the same path before us. We are not unique nor alone we just choose to promote turbine jet molding as a whole. We want attract the new comer to turbine jets not the other way around. Now heres my latest T minus 1 week and counting on the Roo flight. On a test run Saturday with the breaks locked 63oz of fuel and an 18-pound bar of aluminum across the mains. I began to run the turbine (JDE54) up, at about 85-90% throttle the 14.5-pound Roo (locked breaks and bar of aluminum and fuel) launched like a rocket! Its a good thing I keep my hand on the nose of the Roo at all times. Now correct me if I am wrong but does this equal 12 pounds of thrust? Rpm = 160000 egt = 540 Having fun Johnny P.S. 2.5% 2380 with no snake oil at all ;)
That would have to be the funniest thing I have read for the last ten years....

RE: 8 - 12 WEEKS DELIVERY? Seriously?
Because then they are building the jets on their own time to hold in stock rather than your time. They don't want to hold stock though they expect their dealers to hold stock. Work that out. Don't forget that they build a prototype that flys (just) and then take your 100% payment to fund further r&d and then you get you model 6mths later.
ORIGINAL: Henke Torphammar Can they afford to sell something bad that still will cost maybe $1,5k? enough money for people to really use the warranty appart from the $1 servos where you just toss it in the bin.
