RE: FS racing
My wife has a camera, but it has too many pixels to email the pics.I raced with the new set-up and had no problem lapping the field but kept getting taken out buy some clown with a lightning.I had three really bad wrecks and not a part broken, this thing is tuff.Four guys asked me what kind of truggy it was and all said that thing flies.I still finished second in the a-main and was TQ.

I changed the diff fluid in my fs truggy with 7 10 3k oil .The diff gears are the same as a mugen and look real strong.

RE: FS racing
I don't know where you can find your part but if another company makes one that looks close try them.I raced my truggy this week end and it ran great until the center diff blew.Lucky for me that the redcat monsoon diff fit right in and i will be ready for next week. The stock diff had only a little grease in it and caused the gears to blow.I should have taken it apart first.I am going to take the front and rear diffs apart and check them.

RE: FS racing
This truggy and the monsoon are not alike at all.The engine mounts are different fuel tank, diff cases, steering bellcrank, servo saver, shock towers, chassis all different. The parts are thicker and made better. The clutch is a normal type three shoe like the monsoon. The clutchbell is not the long one it is normal type that is common. The shock are close to the monsoon shocks.Other than the philliphead screws and the tie-rods that dont have a place to put a wrench on to adjust them it is a steal for the price.I wish I would have had this truggy first over the monsoon that gave me lots of problems.

RE: FS racing
The FS truggy is not like the monsoon at all. It is more like a mugen/vtx type truggy.I tried to post some pics but the file is too large. The stock engine was taken apart to see the quality of it and I would say it is an okay engine with a little port work and some port matching and crank mod a very good engine. The stock radio work great if you dont mind 27am and no rate change on the servos the range is great. The rims and tires are quality. The stock body is about 20 ga. lexan. There is a rechargeable glow igniter and charger in the box and a very nice four-way glow plug wrench.I think it is a very good deal for the price.

RE: FS racing
My FS racing truggy came in and I put the rb on it and tried it out, it works great. Some things on it look cheap but it is real strong and all the screws were thread locked(i found that out when i took the engine screws out and one broke)it needs a rear sway bar but the rest of the truck is solid.

With the engine stock I would get about 5 min. on the dirt oval. After the mod and pull start removal about 7mins. That is with 20% nitro.

RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
The fang cuts on the transfer ports smooth out the boost port with a radius and round out the bottom of the sleeve.Next I want to epoxy fill the crank and open up the center. That should increase the fuel mileage even more.It was not hard at all.I was not too happy with the crome job on the sleeve it look cheap but seems to hold up.

RE: Redcats Monsoon Thread
My monsoon holds the track record at the dirt oval I race at.The truck is stock except for 60wt shock oil front/rear .I removed the pullstart and put on a backplate, ported the sleeve and it is way fast.

The problem may be that the clutch bearings are not the correct size so take it apart and check. If it is the problem traxxas tmaxx clutch bell bearings will fit.

RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread-
His engines are very fast and great on fuel mileage and he won the PA. tour last season with his engines. On the oval where big HP. helps win races is where it really counts. His trx 2.5 compare to rb15s in power and torque is more than the rb.

If anyone wants there trx 2.5 0r 3.3 to crank some serious power send it to www.rcmotorservice.com. I have two 2.5s in jatos and they are the king of the oval. He also does cylinder re-sizeing and port work and a awsome crank shaft mod.

RE: Initial Impressions of MONSOON truggy.
I bought 2 moonsoon truggys and had the servo problem, the screws falling out problem, the fuel tank getting melted by the pipe, the servo saver problem and the front diff that was not shimmed for the proper back lash and wiped out the gears and i lost the clutch set-up off one also and the set screw from the front drive-shaft fell out . If you buy one check all this stuff first so your truck works
