RE: Calling futaba TX EXPERTS
First, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question. Do you mean physically send you the receivers & transmitter or do you just need model #'s? Good RX: Futaba FP-R129DP in PCM mode Bad RX's: Standard FM Futaba receiver (unknown model), Berg 5 dsp ii, Berg 7p, FMA Encore 2 *** All receivers used the proper crystal as recommended by the manufacturer *** The glitching is identical in all the "bad" receivers

Calling futaba TX EXPERTS
Futaba experts... Please help! I originally posted this question: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11069927/tm.htm Quick summary of post: 8UAPS tx performs great with Futaba PCM receivers while in PCM mode. Range check is terrible when using FM receivers and PPM mode. Tried 3 different receiver/crystal combinations and also bought a second module. I cannot get my tx to communicate in PPM mode, but PCM mode is perfect. I sent my TX out to be checked by the "approved" repair shop on Futabas website... Told me it was my receiver. So now 4 new receivers later, still identical problems! Sent the radio back, cannot figure out the problem and just sent it back to me. So now I'm out even more money. Expert help would be greatly appreciated

RE: Glitch in PPM but not PCM? Futaba 8UAPS
I just went to the Futaba website and it was in the list of non-serviceable items". I noticed they mentioned "You may be able to purchase replacement parts from another company such as... Radio South", but there was no mention of service so I assumed they were just a sales company. I'll give them a shout, thanks. I'd still be up for suggestions though!

Glitch in PPM but not PCM? Futaba 8UAPS
The 8U I have has been added to the list of unserviceable items... so I'm here looking for help: I have a Futaba 8UAPS Tx, and it is rock solid with my PCM1024 receivers and in PCM mode. Ive tried on multiple PPM receivers now, to use my 8U in PPM mode, and I cannot get a decent range check... maybe about 10-15 paces. I've used a Berg 5dsp, FMA Direct Encore & FMA M5 V2. All were used with proper crystals (Berg - Berg crystal,FMA Direct - Hitec dual conversion, FMA M5 also hitec DC.) The glitching is very similar each time I did a range check of each rx, so I figured it might be the module. I swapped modules and got another hitec crystal for the FMA M5 and while slightly better, still not great. I opened up the TX to check the antenna wire and everything is tight & snug on both ends. I did this testing completely out of the plane with just the rx, servo & battery in hand. I've tried multiple servos also so I can rule out servos/electronic interference. It has to be the TX, but this is beyond my expertise. Please help, I cannot afford to purchase a new TX

RE: Fliton Extra 330 Freestyle Who's Got One?
If anyone is still following this thread, could someone do me a quick favor? I crashed my extra this weekend and the fuse was totaled. Somehow everything else was fine?! I'm going to make the extra into a homemade profile, and need a measurement of the leading edge to the front of the cowl, or the leading edge of the elevator. Just trying to figure out where the wings are supposed to go :) Thank you! Hopefully my experiment will make a 3D monster out of the remaining parts of the freestyle

RE: GM Precision Sunbird
I know this is an old thread but why not keep it going? It took me all of 3 months to build, probably about 15-20hrs/week, but she's finally done. Very simple build, and the final product is very rewarding. Haven't maidened yet but will soon. Hope everyone else is still flying theirs. Picture taken on an old cell phone, I apologize if blurry

RE: GM Precision Sunbird
Any chance anyone has a set of sunbird plans they're willing to part with? A kit + plans would be good too :)
