RE: Sukhoi SU-26 MX build
Hello All, I have a 2nd Gen. kit for sale, with fiberglass cowl and belly pan, if anyone is interested. I've enjoyed reading this whole thread over the past couple days and would like to build my kit, but I barely have enough time to fly and build my ARF's due to work and family. EDIT: Kit is Sold pending funds. Thanks Guys Thanks, Mark

RE: My A-10 Warthog Project
You're right Paul it was good news and bad news. I was really glad to see the A-10 fly, and when you got it trimmed out it flew really well. I was actually out on Youtube looking at A-10 videos when I happened upon your video just about an hour after you put it on, so I didn't know of the sad ending. I'm just glad it wasn't a total loss and all the expensive stuff is still intact. I know how you feel about setting it aside for awhile. I've crashed something and it set for nearly 6 months before the upset feelings mostly went away. I think after awhile, you'll get the urge to start working on it again. Thanks for sharing the video so we all can enjoy the good part of the flight. Mark

RE: My A-10 Warthog Project
Hi Paul, I'll have to wait to convert the VHS tape to DVD when I see my folks agian. They have a VHS to DVD recorder, so I'll make you a copy then. I did record a small video with my camera recording the TV of just the A-10 part. I edited out some of the flying, but it's most of the A-10 segment. The link is below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw7-kVcxwbM

RE: My A-10 Warthog Project
Hi Paul, I was checking in on your progress of your A-10. It's looking great. Sorry to hear about the engine problems. It’s great that you got to talk to George Miller about his models. It would be great to talk to him about all the stuff he’s done in our great hobby and all the things he’s done for the movies. I enjoyed seeing the pictures of George Millers different models. I'd forgotten how much he'd been involved in on movies. I remember seeing all his ads in RCM back in the early nineties and I always wanted one of his A-10 models back then. They ran about $450 back then, but I had to settle for buying just the plans years later. It made me remember that in the middle nineties, he no longer offered a paper catalog, but created a video catalog you could send off for, for a cost of around $10. I started looking through all my old VHS modeling tapes and found it. I forgot how much he talks about each model he had available and some insight on how he developed his models. He also developed a really cool F-22 that was brand new back then. It’s probably a little over an hour long. Below is a picture of what the tape looked like. I can try to make a DVD copy of it if you’re interested. I don’t know if the address and phone are the same, so I blacked them out. Thanks for sharing so much of your build. It’s helped me on my fan fold version build. Keep up the engine run ins. ‘m looking forward to seeing it fly. Good Luck. Mark

RE: World Models Ultimate EP
I was also building the Great Planes Ultimate EP when I bought the Worlds Models Ultimate. They are both suppose to come out around 30 oz. There are some noticeable differents it the two planes as you can see below. The WM's bipe has a longer fuse but is also alot skinner then the GP bipe. The WM wings are longer and a little wider. I'd like to get them both finished at the same time and compare performances.

RE: World Models Ultimate EP
I just bought this plane. I'm still deciding what motor to put in it. I have a Hacker A20-22L and it's the exact same size and weight as the brushless motor that come with the plane. I don't think either motor has enough power to make this bipe preform like it should. I'm thinking of either putting an Eflite 480 in it or a motor I have from Mile High RC. Haven't decided yet. http://milehighrc.com/brushless500XTL.html

RE: 40 delta dual rate throws???
I used 1/4 balsa for the fins and 1/8 ply for the outer wing to protect the foam from being broken off the ends. I left the original covering that came on the foam for most of the wing and used packing tape to keep the edges down and on the leading edge and the areas the exhaust would spit spent fuel on. I used some gray ultracote on the rear just to test to see how well it would stick to the foam. It's held up perfectly. The one thing I changed on another delta I built was to put a balsa strip on the leading edge and sanded to shape to help protect from dings and keep the diamond shaped airfoil intacted.

RE: 40 delta dual rate throws???
Hi OzMo, I agree with kstick on the aileron throws for Jack's Delta. I also have dual rates with about 1/2 on high and 3/8 on low. I like to use the high rates for the elevator part of the mix for take offs and then I set them back to low most of the time. The Ailerons part of the mix I like to leave on the low setting for taking offs and general flying and put on the high rates to do increadible rolls one after another for fast flying. This was my first delta also, and I first had it set up to hand launch, but this got to be a hassle so I put landing gear on mine. Took some of the performance away but still fly's like it's on rails. I had aways heard from other modelers, how they themselves or saw a fellow modeler put a delta into the ground on takeoff. I was so afraid to put all kinds of work into a delta model and watch it be smashed to pieces on takeoff. Thenl two years ago I came across crazyherbs website. I saw his video of the Jack’s Delta and I knew I had to build one. I’d never worked with foam before but I knew that this had to be the cheapest way to learn about flying Delta planes, so after a couple weeks of working about an hour every night I had my first Delta. Some may think these foam planes are ugly, but I think they look cool for no more then is put into making them. The best thing about these easy, cheap Delta’s is that they fly like a dream. I have over a hundred flights and still flying the first one I built. Here are some pics of my Jack’s Delta:

RE: delta wings
I like the .90 sized Delta Vortex located at http://www.btemodels.com but don't want to spend the money on a kit, so I'm using the 3-View located at http://www.btemodels.com/vor_3view.html and use my Tracer Projector (http://www.artsuppliesonline.com/catalog.cfm?cata_id=2815) to shoot it up on a 2" piece of foam and trace the Delta Vortex shape on the foam. Then create the plane using similar techniques used to build the Jack's Delta at http://crazyherb.com/JacksDelta/jacksdelta2.jpg The airfoil doesn't look like much, but this is one of the most stable planes I've ever flown. I hope my ninety size foam delta turns out half has fun to fly as Jack's Delta. But instead of putting the .90 sized engine on a set of rails going down the top of the delta. I'm going to create about an 18" 1/8 plywood fuselage box to hold the tank, servos and battery and reinforce the front to mount the engine on and have a 1" X 1/4" spar to attach the fuse, landing gear and wing together. I did something similar with a foam kit called a pancake and it works great. Here's a pic of the pancake.

RE: delta wings
Hi Marwen, I know what you mean about no knowing what to expect from a DELTA. I have the kits for a Force One and the Enforcer and all I heard from other modelers is how they themselves or saw a fellow modeler put a delta into the ground on takeoff. I was so afraid to put all kinds of work into a model and watch be smashed to pieces on takeoff, so they’ve sat in the box for a few years now. Last year I came across the web site (which has many threads in here about) called crazyherb.com. I’ve become addicted to Delta’s and I'm working on a larger .90 size foam Delta wing. So to answer your question about is there any simulator out there to teach you about Delta’s, I say the best experience is real experience and you could build three or four of these Deltas for the price of a simulator. I hope this helps and I hope you are able to fly your Force One successfully. I’ve got my Enforcer half done already and feel 110% better about my abilities to fly it. Here are some pics of my foam Delta I constructed from the plans on crazyherb.com (Jack’s Delta):

It looks very close to the plans from the 1995 Flying Models plan #CF967. I've been wanting to build this plane also because it is so different from anything else I've seen. Here is a picture of the cover of that issue of Flying Models.
