ORIGINAL: rotor head33 the roll cage was bought from the lhs and the body parts are all made by me. cut and painted by me. the cage can be found here at www.hbzusa.com
Thanks I will order this when I am ready for a roll cage. Still trying to determine if I am going to build it from the ground up or go the cheap way and get a rolling chassis and mod that to what I want.

RE: How does this nut come off??
Which way does it turn when it is running. If it is clockwise turn it clockwise. It will be threaded the same way it turn so when it is spinning at high speeds it will not back off and fall off. Yes they are on there really tight. I got mine off with a wrench and a pair of vise grips to hold the flywheel. I wouldn't use a piston lock because that causes stress on the conrod and could break it.

RE: savage or revo
I own a revo 2.5r and I am planning on building a 3.3. The Savage looks nice and I heard it bashes nice but it does not handle like the REVO. I want something that I can make high speed turns with and not flip. You can customize the REVO's suspension right out of the box, make it higher or lower also you can add bigger rocker arms to make it go even higher. It comes with extra springs with different weights. The EZ start nice because there is no pulling a cord to start it and you don't have to carry a cordless drill with you. It clips on your belt and it also will tell you if you have a bad glow plug. It comes with a decent "not the best" radio. Dual Steering servo so even at a stand still the wheels will turn from lock to lock with no problem, has a rechargable battery pack that will charge right in the truck with the jack at the bottom of it. The engine isn't the best out there because of it's size but you can always put a big block in it. That's what the Savage has going for it is that it comes with a bigger motor. That is the selling point for the Savage. If you put a big block in a REVO you would have the power and the handling. They will both take the same beatings head to head. I have only broken a couple of parts on my truck because of something I did really stupid and not running a failsafe at WOT. Most of all is the Customer Support that Traxxas has. They have excellent customer service. Call them and if a part breaks like a gear in the tranny and you don't tell them you did something stupid then most likely they will send you a new set of gears free of charge. They did it for me over a year after I bought the truck "Opti-drive was unplugged and and I hit the reverse button oops"

RE: REVO 3.3 Roller
I've been on ebay for the past week. My LHS's don't have anything either. I am thinking I could just get another 2.5 and then get the extended chassis and update it from there. I don't want the 3.3 motor anyway because I plan on dropping in a big block. I have a bid on a 2.5 right now for 120 for a 2.5 that ends tomorrow.

RE: is OS 18TM good enough for the revo 3.3-racing
Most people are putting the OS 18 in this truck or a big block. TRX engine have gained a bad rep so people replace them with others. I myself don't mind the TRX engines. I have the 2.5r in mhy 2.5 revo and in my t-maxx. I am however planning on building a 3.3 REVO and dropping a big block in it.

RE: tips on keeping the front end down
You could try a softer spring and light oil in the rear so the suspension takes the force instead of lifting the front of the truck. Now sure if that will be enough though.

REVO 3.3 Roller
I am looking for a REVO 3.3 Roller. I don't need the servos, pipe, or the engine. I really want it for the chassis, tank, bulkheads, CVD's, driveshafts, tranny, bumpers, and all the other small components like the reciever box and skip guards. I plan on using RPM a arms and a big block. Also getting a new radio and servos. I want the 3.3 for the longer chassis and wheel base. Does anyone know where I can get one for a desent price? Used "good condition" or new.

RE: curb strikes?
ORIGINAL: 125cchyperman Something going extremely slow. No matter what you have if you hit a curb or somthing else right you will break things. You just cant go ahead and hit things full throttle and expect to drive away. But the best vid I have seen as of yet for the durability of a rc car would have to be the buggy jumping the house vid. I mean hey it drove away, it looked like something was broke but still it drove away
I have seen a vid even better than that. Go over to highoctanehobbies.com and look at their redneck # 8 video. Huge amount of air and the Savage just drives away after doing a couple of victory donuts.

RE: Futuba Revo Servos
ORIGINAL: WartedEmperor Does the S9351 have metal gears, and if it does not, why? Also what does it mean that it has a J connector installed? I am not good with the electronic part of RC. RE: Hobby town USA
ORIGINAL: DGMaxx +1 on HobbyTown hit or miss. Mine is more concerned about RPG games. The last time I went in, I was just looking for a simple stock replacement part, it wasn't on the racks and when I asked one of the clerks (He was wearing a Losi shirt) that was playing an RPG at the time gave me such an attitude and actually threw the part at me. I promptly threw the part back, told him they just lost a customer forever, and proceeded to another LHS I had heard about but never visited. My new LHS is awesome, and the person I used to get my RC parts from HobbyTown, now works for this LHS.
That doesn't sound like a good thing with him working at your new LHS. Ironic yes, good no.

RE: outside temp?
I've ran mine when it was about 25 out before. Just block some fins on the heatsink with a sock or something so the engine still makes the temps. Also heat the engine up before taking it outside to start or you will have a hell of a time getting it to start up.

RE: Rock Crawling Gallery Thread
I have been wanting to make a crawler for awhile now. I have read how-to's from the net and most of them say to leave the foam out of the tires so the tires flex more. From these pics it doesn't look like this has been done. Is it true that there should be little to no foam in the tires when creating a crawler so it gets better grip on the rocks.
