RE: Losi Ten-T RTR Right Out of the Box?!
ORIGINAL: MightyMike I don't think they can tell what fuel you have been using, but I'm sure if they ask and you were to say anything but nitrotane they would void any warranty. Thanks for the input about the fuel, I'll try to find some sidewinder and give it a try. But I'm having some frustrating problems getting my brand new Ten-T to start. It turns over, the glow plug works when I test it, there is fuel getting to the carbs and air getting to the combustion chamber, unless I have a compression problem the only thing that could be wrong I would assume would be the carb tune. The manual says its set to the break-in settings, but may need a high speed adjustment for different fuels and elevation. So I have adjusted high speed with no luck, low speed with no luck, even idle with no luck. I tried preheating the engine with a heat gun, I took it to about 190 then gave it a try. It actually seemed to like it, it ran with the starter button depressed only. I tried this again with an adjustment to the tune and nothing. So what can I be doing wrong here? Its brand new for cryin out loud, an RTR should run out of the box this is dissapointing. What does everyone suggest I try here? A tune in what direction, lean or rich? More or less heat? Could there be an issue with the glow plug system I'm not seeing? All input is appreciated, thanks. Mike
First off, every fuel you use will require retuning (same on all niro RC's), 2nd, if you change glow plugs, hotter or colder it will require retuning. After my initial heat cycle breakin, I attempted to do the final tune with a new Mccoy MC 59 plug, it didn't like it, so I went with Dynamite Platinum #4 and it tunes really easy. Go back to original factory specs (not sure what is was without looking it up in my book) then once it starts consistantly you can increase power by playing with fuel mixture High and low spped screws! ONLY adjust scres by 1 hour increments (like if you were staring at a clockface) that way you won't go too far and it die on you! Most importantly go back and set low, high, fuel mixture to factory settings!! Also sometimes for first time starting in a while, hold finger over exhaust while cranking to prime (you can hear when it is) and it will start sooner. if none of these help pull glowplug and crank a few times as you may have flooded it and glow plug is still too wet to fire correctly!!! Almost sounds like this is your first Nitro, don't get frustrated it takes a while to learn how to tune and once you learn it becomes secound nature!!! P.S. I almost forgot (don't know why), but it felt like the mccoy Mc59 didn't fit as snug as stock and the Dynamite platinum #4 glow plugs when connecting the glow plug wire to actual glow plug. Also after jumping and bashing mine for a while i noticed that both wires had come loose on the ROSS starter, just recrimp them slightly tighter (the ones that go from LIPO to Ross starter).

RE: Losi Ten-T RTR Right Out of the Box?!
ORIGINAL: MightyMike I just got the Losi Ten-T, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the best fuel to use in it. I bought a gallon of O'Donnels 20% racing fuel from my local hobby store, but the warranty stipulates that you must use the Losi Nitrotane fuel. What fuel does everyone else run through their Ten-T? What fuel seems best and produces the most power? Thanks
I use Sidewinder Race blend 20% with 12% oil for protection and no after run oil needed with this blend! Never had any problems ever and it runs great with the Ten-T for power with plenty of protection and every LHS I have been to carries it! Remember to get the race blend though!! $28.99 a Gallon and in My opinion much better than Odonnell's. If I could find it locally, I would run Byron's Generation 2 hands down over anything, PERIOD! But since I can't find it locally I use Sidewinder as it is Very good quality with very good engine protection and tunes great! I think Monster fuel is also good but not as safe as Sidewinder and I would choose Nitrotane over Monster personally!

RE: Fried Ten-T LOSI ROSS starting module
ORIGINAL: Ibber Hi, Being a newbe messing around with the electronics on my Ten-T I managed to swap +/- between the LOSI ROSS starting module and the Spektrum SR3300T receiver frying them both:-( I have found a thread how to fix the Spektrum SR3300T but need some advice on the LOSI ROSS starting module, anyone having experience with fixing this or is a replacement only way out? Have attached some pictures of it. Cheers
Wow, how did you do it?? I have a ten-t and have been recommending it to everyone with it's sweet praise!! Not trying to be hurtful but am glad it was operator error, not Truggy's fault!! I would definately call or email Losi, they will probably help you fr free or close to it since it is so new and they want solid feedback from it, jsut my 2 cents worth. I'm not sure you will find too much diagnostics with it on the internet forums since it is fairly new released model!! The ten-t rocks!!!!

RE: Losi Ten-T RTR Right Out of the Box?!
ORIGINAL: silverman1 How does the ten truggy handle the rougher terraign, and high grass and all? I know my 1/8 scale truggies handle it all pretty good, hill climbs, grass etc. Just wondering because it is a lot of bread to lay out for a 1/10 scale truggy. Please don't take this as a put down, because i am definately not putting it down, I am very tempted to bite and take ownership of one!!!!
I will tell you, i have taken mine with me to quarrys to climb the hills and it is awesome, you can stop on the hill and take off and power it up easily with the final tune (final tune is much stronger than factory settings in my opinion and have gained lots of power). I have made some awesome jumps on the way up (followed motorcycles jumping the top of the smaller hills as ramps and man does it sail thru the air with EASE)! If I can ever get my friend to ever forward me the video of it, I will post them here for everyone to see! Unfortunately I don't own a video camera and am his mercy and his detailing business is keeping him Bust lately al day and into the night lately! No regrets here, Just buy it you can't go wrong with it for the price! $404.99 @ ultimatehobbies.com shipped! Almost a full $100.00 cheaper than any ebay seller and the best price I have found anywhere and $60 cheaper than what I paid for mine!! if you eventually want to move onto 1/8 scale do so and keep the awesome Spektrum radio and receiver and buy a 1/8 scale race roller and you will be way ahead!! Personally I have beaten the bigger race winning Losi Eight-T around the tracks with mine so I'm not spending a lot more because for me it isn't any better and I LOVE the R.O.S.S. sytem and telemetry!! Very, very satisfied and is best RTR on the market anywhere for the money in my Humble Opinion!!! P.s. I can't tell you on tall grass as I live in the desert, but mine has been in rocky wasjhes with no problem whatsoever!!!

RE: Losi Ten-T RTR Right Out of the Box?!
ORIGINAL: etopsflight guys just saw squirrel's report on youtube regarding the stock battery. has anybody fitted an aftermarket lipo with higher capacity and better endurance to stop the R.O.S.S. draining the power and leaving you with a semi-fail safe situation? let me know if there are any lipos that fit without without modification - thanks! cheers etops
Honestly, I don't know nor have I ever encountered it!! It has Telemetry on it to keep track of battery voltage and the stock lipo lasts a long time. Once you tune it for final tune after break in it starts immediately and you have long run times on battery and you just watch receiver battery info on the Spektrum radio. never had any problems with mine running away ever!!! Squirrel is a great tuner, but on this comment I have serious questions such as why he isn't looking at the telemetry voltage on the radio?? Like I said never had any problems and run several tanks back to back, so this is Bizarre to me.

RE: Revo 3.3. Vs. Losi Ten T
I also don't agree that the R.O.S.S. is extra weight bloat factor! I have mine tuned perfectly and it rips, it will do full burnouts and donuts in asphalt for as long as you like doing them, power is unbelievable!!! The ROSS system is awesome, guys that hate it have never actually used it, it works great for starting it remotely, no having to plug glow igniter on and using a roto start, just push botton on remote and away you go. The factory settings are really safe settings, once you break it in, retune it for unbelievable power!!!!

RE: Revo 3.3. Vs. Losi Ten T
ORIGINAL: sheograth The Ten-T is fine but all the ROSS stuff seems pretty gimmicky and useless. I mean yeah it's convenient and cool but it adds a lot of weight and overall "bloat factor" to the car. Personally I'd see the Ten-T as a downgrade from a Revo 3.3 in terms of fun factor unless you really really want onboard starting or something. If you want something new check out higher end trucks like the LST XXL, Savage XL, etc. Lots of good electric monster trucks out there now too like the Savage Flux. If you have the money to spare also consider 1/5 scale stuff like the HPI Baja or the FG Monster Truck. Once you go giant scale gas you'll never look at the small stuff the same way again :D
I have ran my friend revo 3.3 and my Losi ten-t wil smoke it in every category, except running through higher clearance areas. i have over a gallon on mine. no problems with the ROSS yet! I have 49 & 51 MPH. It is easy to tune and hold's it tune unlike the 3.3. The major difference is the Ten-T is a truggy and the revo is a MT. Truggys will always outperform a MT any day! The Ten-T is cheaper ($404.95 shipped from ultimate hobbies) and come with radio and telemetry receiver which sale used for $200. I have run mine at the Nitro-Pit here in AZ, and I have actually beaten it's big brother the Eight-T 2.0 around the track. When my friend brought his Revo 3.3 out to the track, I nearly lapped him and he broke a-arm trying to keep up! No comparison in Rc's. The revo is a great MT that handles good but wil never hang with a truggy. The Ten-t is based off the big brother Eight-t that is always winning titles, and they didn't scrimp down on parts like most companies usually do with RTR's. The Ten-T is truley RTR, just add fuel, everything else is standard including LIPO receiver battery and charger also including radio batteries as well. I have recommended it to several people on here and they have all loved it and thanked me personally for recommending it to them. You could actually part it out and make money on it for the price ultimatehobbies.com is giving it away from. Buy it you will love it, on the track it is a BEAST!!!!

RE: Schumacher's Newest Rc - Manic
ORIGINAL: Havoc1992 I've had a manic for a couple of weeks now, got it for £395. The only bad things i can say about it are that i couldn't get it started without having to use a hair dryer to heat it up for the first 7 or 8 tanks. After that it starts pretty easily. After a run, it had a jolt when i pushed it forward, turns out some mud had got into the rear belt cog and had jammed itself into some of the teeth. It has had a few flips and landed on its roof a few times and has held up as well as my havoc so it seems very tough. The engines aren't that loud when compared with a savage x but they have so much power. The acceleration is instant and it gets to around 40-45mph and the brakes are pretty good because the radio gear it comes with has the option of ABS which twitches the throttle/brake servo between brake and neutral when the brakes are applied. It is a very fast and robust truck and is well worth the money. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask and i'll do my best to help.
how much is L395 in U.S. money dollars?? I have chance to buy one for $475 + $25 shipping. I sold my LST2 to try it out, but still doing research on it, and how parts availability in the US is, since the pulled their US headquarters? Anyone know here there is US parts and hop ups for it??

RE: Trade Brushless E-Maxx for Ten-T?
Yes, 6 minute run times are off, unless it is improperly tuned with way too much fat and that would cause short run times and foul glow plugs also!! You should get 10-12 minutes if tuned properly, if wide open throttle all of the time they will be shortened but not 6 mins run time!!! Trade for it you will love it, find out as much as you can though, how many tanks through it, why he wants to get rid of it, etc, etc.

RE: Losi Ten-T RTR Right Out of the Box?!
My Ten_T has almost 1 gallon through it, runs flat out sreaming all the way! I didn't trust the already broken in procedure, I just did the heat up, ccol down BDC heat cycle breakin for 4 to 5 tanks just like every other RC. I have been told by my friend who races that the tolerances are really really tight, almost too tight he thinks and has boring his and some other .003 over. I haven't let him do mine yet, a I haven't seen any problems from too much tightness. Mine starts everytime and doesn't feel like it is dragging on starting like he has said others have. Maybe because I did the proper breakin procedure though too I am suspecting??? I love it, it is best new RC I have ever owned and ran for that matter for the $$$ spent!!! I did have some concerns that maybe I was running too lean, because of the temp alarms going off, but Supertib told me that all engines should run between 220* and 250* anyway so i am okay and it runs awesome the way it is tuned now, does donuts in asphalt right now, and breaks the tires loose on takeoff in the asphalt also!!! I don't know how accurate the display is in MPH but I have seen 49-51 MPH on it!!!

You shouldn't have any problems getting parts, every Local hoby shop I've been in stocks parts for Traxxas more than any other! (they break more than others, too though) I would consider the SC10 or SC8 personally a lot better in build quality!

RE: From A to B on the street, whats the fastest out of the box?
ORIGINAL: joshreynolds777 Exactly, I never said I wanted an off roader. In fact I'de like to have an on-road car , as I've never had one. I just wanted to bring up the fact that the roads I'll be using it on some of the time will be just regular ole concrete roads, not all nice flat black top parking lots, and possibly some or none at the track. Someone at my LHS told me stadium truck might be the way to go with the road conditions i might be on most of the time,,,, He made it sound like high speeds with an on road car might be dragging the bottom "and such" too much to really get high speed. Im sure part of the reaon he is trying to get me to lean toward a jato is because they sell a bunch of traxxas there, nothing wrong with them, but i've seen better lmost everywhere. That can be a double edged sword.... better access to parts, but loosing some craftmanship and design... Money is not my biggest concern. I was thinking $200-$500 range! thanks guys What do we think? Oh and did enyone look at that Wolf Hobbies Edam Exer yet?
for the $200-$500 range and all out speed i would say the Cen or schumacher!! here is a link for the fastest 1/10 scale truck available right now!: http://www.extremercmotorsports.com/XTR.htm

The same belt system was used to deliver the new guiness world record speed from a shumacher belt driven car!
