Just wanting to get some advice and tips on a future plane. I will be wanting to put together a giant 3d plane powered by a turboprop. What kind of planes or manufacturers are out there that have planes built specificaly for a turboprop? I would like to put together a 50cc mx2 with a wren turboprop. Advice or tips?????

An arf is a kit.....you just didn't build it to the 95 percentage of completion. Someone else did it for you.

RE: I tried to warn him
Humm now I know I posted a comment here 20 minutes ago....I guess skeletor must have deleted all the comments that hurt his feelings. I will sum up my previous post. You have done your home work?? You might want to attend some summer school classes, because you failed at doing the proper home work. You tried to warn him? You should have prevented the entire wreckless, irresponsible, stupid event. Don't attempt something like this again you inexperienced newbies. You could have caused a lot of damage to someone or someone's property. I laugh at you two for trying to fly without experience. Of course if you had an instructor it would have been different. Go back to school you rookies and get help before you hurt someone.

RE: Great Planes suggestion
heres a quote from my platoon SGT. "TRY EQUALS FAIL!" lets not try it lets do it!!! to me it doesnt make alot of sense to totaly discontinue a plane..perhaps lower the amount made until demand comes up, but to totaly discontinue a plane..i dont get it. i got into rc planes the same time i joined the army..which was in 06 and even from checking out rc magazines from around 99 to 05 and of course later the same arf or kits that i would really like to have just arent available any more.. ehh i does suck but every once in awhile a plane thats been discontinued will pop online somewhere, however the price is usually twice or three times what it cost a few years ago leaving me with out that plane. thats why i would like to see some older ones brought back to life so i can catch up on them and get what i rightfully deserve!! haha. good insight though MJD it makes all the sense in the world too.

Great Planes suggestion
So the other day i happen to come across on craigslist a g/p Patriot, man was it nice looking new in the box. The guy wants 150 bucks and i would really like to get my hands on it(waiting on his reply) well anyway i decided to go to g/p website and go to their "recomend our next plane" page , so i put in the request for a new patriot with a different color scheme. I also told them that if they would just browse the forums of the two main rc sites they would realize that this plane is wanted by alot. so i encourage you to do the same lets try and get them to bring it back. who knows they are a big company that works fast and maybe they could get one out the door in a year. also if you want the patriot back..let them know here also so they can see that indeed this is a jewel of a plane. heres the link in case you have never been to their site before..it just takes a few clicks. http://www.greatplanes.com/suggest-a-plane.html
ORIGINAL: linkadrip . How about some of those old vinatage aircraft. Or an SR71 that has a prop driven engine on it you know a manufacture could do it. make a kit like that and not real complicated, just something to build that looks like the real thing that you can throw a .60 size two stroke on and go streaking across the sky. The hobby has changed over the years. So i guess the result is we have to just try our own challenges.[:)] Link
i realize this post is old but in case you didnt know, theres an sr-71 propjet, its made by flyboy models. i have one nib sitting at the house in georgia.

RE: bought a giant scale mx-s
i decided that i would stick with the ts-70's, i started to think about getting digital servos. but im not really into all the 3d flying. the extent of my 3d flying would be knife edges, hovering flat spins and if i can get the plane to do it the occasional water fall. thats about all i can do as far as the 3d stuff. just dont have the finger cababilities to do much more than that. as mentioned by dick t i wont be doing all the super flip flopping so these servos should be fine.

I am thankful to work in the defence industry and want you to know that it's the guys and gals in the field that come to my mind as I see equipment being shipped out of the factory. As to your airplane, great choice! I would suggest however to take a second look at your engine and servo choices. If I was outfitting the same airplane I would be looking at the DLE 30 and some Hitec digitals.
whats the difference between the digital servos and the ts-70's? i keep hearing about digital servos but i apparently have had no education regarding them.

bought a giant scale mx-s
so im sitting here deployed to afganistan with my tax money in the bank, i thought dam i should get me a giant gasser..albeit its on the smaller side of giant scale. i bought an mx-s 35cc from chiefaircraft. i got the one thats green with checkered. i looked around on here for some servo suggestions but after fighting with the slow internet not properly loading some pages i figured i would just check out some planes that are equal in specs as the mx-s. i looked at some planes on towerhobbies and came to the conclussion that towerhobbies servos ts-70 will do the job at 6 volts. i also ordered a new radio to go with it a fut. 7caf, i think i should have gone with a 2.4 setup but i have nothing thats 2.4 and the radio will do me justice for all the other planes i have that are on fm. i plan on running an mld 35cc from cermark. heck i also bought an sr-71 propjet from texas rc and another aerobatic plane from valuehobby. i suppose i just had an itch to buy planes and now im really looking forward to getting back to georgia to fly. if anyone has any suggestions for the mx-s or sr-71 please put you 4 cents worth in. guess i should have posted this here instead of in the other giant section, but should get twice the views.
