RE: axial ax10
if i was you, i would contact AXIAL. they seem to be very good at customer service. just don't lie to them. how new is the truck? did you weigh the wheels with wheel weights as per their blog on their website? if so, see if they could warranty the part, and send you a new one. its worth a phone call isn't it?......good luck!

RE: Which Crawler should I buy?
which crawler does your local hobby shop support? thats where you should start. axial is a great product. venom creeper has some great features, losi has worm gear axles, so you dont need drag brakes. they are all great trucks in their own light. but which one can you go to your lhs and walk out with parts for??

RE: SC10 or Slash (read before voting)
your best bet is to check with your local hobby shop, which one do they stock? which one do they stock more parts for? do any of your friends have either one? if so ask if you can test drive it. i have not owned or driven the sc10 so i can't say anything good or bad on it. the slash is a very durable truck. the best one for you is .........up to you. which do you like most?

RE: slash warnings
when i started in this hobby, TRAXXAS was known as "the beginners" trucks. they looked cheap, they were inexpensive, and no one that i knew had/liked them. i have always raced tamiya, and hpi. BUT, when the SLASH came out, i had to have one. i feel stupid now for never giving traxxas a shot before. the slash is alot of fun to drive and race. they are very durable, easy to work on, have alot of hop ups, and every track seems to have a spec slash class. not to mention that if you are into fullsize 4wd, or CORR racing, you'll love it. great truck.

hey guys is anyone interested in a very lightly used mt2?????? i havent touched mine since the arrival of my slash. i'd rather get rid of it so it gets some use from someone, instead of sitting in my work shop. let me know.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
hey guys, does everyone put brushless systems in their slash's? does anyone run them stock? i have several rc's with major money in them, but since i got the slash, i haven't touched any other rc at all. these trucks are great.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
slash good points? $200.00, toughest rtr rc you can buy, it's water proof, fun to drive, fun to race. i have raced, and bashed for over twenty years, i have trucks with $1000.00 plus put into them, and this slash is far more fun to drive than anything else i own. watch CORR truck racing on TV, if you like what you see, then go buy a slash. really this truck is more than worth the money. and you can run it bone stock in spec racing and it is fun. find someone that has one, run it for 1-2 minutes, then you'll want to go buy one. stock they are not the fastest, but the slash is just more fun and exciting to run than most other rc's.

RE: Running directional tires backwards?
in rock crawling 1:1 you can put the tires on backwards. this will gain traction on thr rocks in mostly dry situations. however, when 4wheeling in mud, this is a big no-no! these types of tire tread patterns are designed to be self cleaning tires. they shoot the mud out of the treads to prevent it from packing which will turn your treads into a muddy slick! slicks are used on cars at race tracks. smooth flat pavement. by reversing the tread pattern it will actually pack the tire quickly. the slash is a great rc i have one and love it! the tire tread pattern is a yokohama geo-landar tire for 1:1 trucks. i also have a real set of them on my full size jeep wrangler and i love them too. great tire in mud dirt sand rocks wet or dry. but do not reverse them! i wouldn't reverse them on my slash either. better wear traction and performance if used as intended.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
hey keith, it's the mt2 with the t-15. i have the rotostart, but put the pull start on it. a couple of glow plugs, two ignitors, it has the motor saver air filter. a fuel filter. i haven't done a lot with it hop wise. being new to nitro, i thought that i would run as is until the motor needed to be replaced, then start hopping it up. but i have been bitten by the TRAXXAS Slash bug! i've been trying to get my kids into the hobby, but they only have about 1-2 days of interest in them. i got a slash and now, they all want one. i guess i found a common ground interest with them in the slash. this thing is a blast. bad news is that we just got another house, bigger, much bigger! but i'm gonna lose my track! that kinda hurts, but i'll have three more people to help with a new track now. i'm trying to sell the mt2 so i can buy another Slash. (or trade for one). let me know if you're interested. or if ya know some one that is. thanks.

RE: The Official Traxxas Slash short-course race truck
thanks. i really like the corr series racing and the slash handles like the real ones. i don't want to move to the outter shock position because that kind of stops the body lean in the corners. i want to keep the lean as much as possible. 60 wt oil is pretty thick isn't it? they come with 30 wt stock. i think i'll try 60 wt as soon as some snow melts away and see how that does, and go from there. these slashes are great trucks and the only complaints that i could think of is, should have come with real bead lock wheels, and why wasn't this truck out years ago! haha. thanks again for the input i appreciate it.

RE: Traxxas Slash?
i say go for it! the slash is a great truck. low price, very durable, scale looks, and handling. and you said that you wanted to race it? spec racing is great, because it is really skill vs skill, not who has more money invested into their rc. the slash is so much fun to drive, it gives you that feeling you had when you drove your first rc, for the first time. but everytime you drive it! i have been into rc's for more than 20 years, and the slash is the most fun i've had with an rc in a llloooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggg time. you just can't beat the performance, fun, durability, looks, (and did i mention fun) for $189.00!! 2wd in the dirt is more of a challenge to drive, than the 4wd. the 4wd slayer is nitro and higher priced. most ever rc track is already running a slash spec class. if you talk to someone that ownes one they will tell ya that it would be a purchase that you won't regret. so go for it!!!

RE: Traxxas Slash vs. Losi Desert Truck
well first is there a local hobby shop where you live? talk to customers in there. which truck does the hobby shop have parts for? i like both, but they are totally different trucks. both are made by great companies that put out quality stuff. i think the slash is more realistic, and much more durable. but i own one so maybe you should talk to people in your area. any friends that are into rc's? what do they like? if you buy a slash, let your friends check it out, they'll probly go get one for themselves. seeing more than one of these run together is insane. check out a real corr race on tv, and you'll be hooked. also check out youtube on the slash.

hey guys i'm a new, proud owner of the new traxxas slash, and new to this thread. i was wandering if you guys could suggest some different shock oil setups? i don't want to get rid of the body lean in the corners so much, but would like to keep the tires planted. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
yeah the slash looks like it would be a really fun truck, a little bit like the tamiya ta-02 that i have, but bigger. does the slash have a 1/8 scale body on it? thats what it looks like. price is good on those too, i'm trying to stick with the nitro now though. however, the new rc rock crawling class is looking pretty good to me. full size rock crawling can get too expensive, the wife doesn't like damage on my JEEP, costly.

eminent, i'm not sure what its worth, i have alot of time/money in it. it is in excellent condition.mip shinney cvd's,hpi aluminum racing shocks, titanium turnbuckles, extra bodies/wheels/tire. i'm sure that its worth more to me than someone else, you know how that goes. my two boys want nitro's now since i've been bitten by the nitro bug. it's a great truck and i'd rather trade it for something thats gonna get used, than have it sit around. keith, i think youre right. thanks guys.

RE: new to the rc sport
hey praz, i may be too late to through my 2 cents in, but first thing you should do is check your local hobby shop. what are the 2-3 brands that they carry? parts? then are you new to rc's completely? if so you should then look at 4 wheel drive trucks. they are easier to drive/control as they "stick" to they track better. are you planning to race, or bash? this can save you money down the road. hpi is my favorite brand, and the mt2 is a great truck. as is the firestorm, but i believe it is 2wd. (mt2 is 4wd)2 and 4wd vehicles handle differently. tamiya is a great product too. losi, associated, are usually used to race. others are too, but more at a local track level. are you looking at nitro only? i have about 20+ years experience in electric, and have recently been bitten by the NITRO bug! man these nitros are awsome. tricky to tune, etc. does your local hobby shop have someone that will be willing to help you out? do you plan to run with friends? if so, what trucks are they using? if you run/race with friends, it is more fun to have the same vehicles as they do. that way, when you get good, and beat them, they can't blame your superior skills to the fact that your truck is better! hope i helped ya. this forum is a great place for help. oh and i think the hpi mt2 has the largest section on here! 726 pages! so, yeah there are a few of us that like this truck. good luck with your decission, and truck.
