The gun tube is to heavy for the heng long stug elevation unit, the slipper clutch will let it drop over rough ground....think I am going to try to counter weight it.... all in all, for a pretty much scrtch built tank built on a budget, she is working better than I expected.

I don't know.....sound like they were pusher fans to do all that. been watching vids of running tanks to try to figure it out.....no luck yet.

RE: For my Australian Brother
ORIGINAL: Buckeye36 Cool video. The square ones were the intakes and the fan tower was the exhaust. Air was pulled through the intakes and radiators and expelled out the exhaust fan towers. Thats why partially blocking the cooling exhaust allowed for rerouting of air for the crew heat on the Panther/Jagdpanther. The same principle is used for heating aircraft cabins with turbine engines, tapping off the P3 bleed air. Plus, wouldn't it make sense that if the air was hot enough to cook you then armor plate over it would make a nice griddle....
The question is were they pusher or puller fans.....most cars use puller fans....fans that pull air through the rads.....I tent to think the fans were pusher fans....that way, you push the air through the rads and allow the hot air to rize out the area to aid cooling.....puller fans that are not next to the rads tend to just move are around rather than move the air. Been messing with cars my whole life.....hot air does not like to mix with cold air and will resist doing so.....the fans would have to be super powerful to be puller fans as hey would have to creat a negative pressure zone behind the 2 rads to suck the cool air through the hot rads. If on the other hand, you are pushing air through the rads, the fans would not need to be so efficent as its much easier to compress air than reduce air pressure.....jmo...I would love for some tank guru to post up and tell me witch way the fans worked.

RE: For my Australian Brother
Intersting.....have you ever seen this...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFHXMkg6WH0 the 2 round fixtures on the rear deck were armor for 2 cooling fans....these fans servised 2 radeaters on each side....the only question I have is if those fans pulled air in and pushed through the rads or did the eject hot air up after it was sucked in from the squair vents toward the front and back....btw, it was the same with the panther. If they pulled cool air in and pushed it through the rads.....then the squair vents are for hot air leaving the cooling system and troops would want them covered when running.....
ORIGINAL: yellowshaker Yes, they were used for protection against shrapnel. And they look wicked cool too! [:D]
Yes,I have read that also.....but as someone on another forum pointed out.....why no shields on the intake fan openings?....some had it but most didn't, they all have them where the hot air comes out.....If you read Tigers In The Mud, the auther writes about trying to bring a wounded german solder back from the front and killing him with the heat from the tank doring the trip.

RE: Clark electronics TK20
ORIGINAL: YHR Ok For the record. I am not selling these and I do sell a product that is in direct competition with the Clark board. I have tried to be as objective as I could when reviewing this product, and I hope I have at least helped out a little in this. As I have uncovered a couple of little issues I think I have to step away from this review process, as my comments might be taken the wrong way. I think it is important that I tell you that this is not plug and play and my experience has been that you need to heat up the soldering iron, and do a little reading. Again I beleive this is an objective observation. If you buy one of these you will need to communicate with Clark directly for any guidance and help. I of course don't mind helping a little, but I will not spend too much time trouble shooting any problems with this hardware. I like the DBC3/Benedini combo and that I support fully. Cheers
Yes, I understand that.....its funny, over on rcregument site, some of the people were saying that this was a plug and play unit, when I when I told them the same things you are saying....I was warned for being a troll.....I ordered 2 with the hope that this will all get sorted out and some better instruction turn up. What this board is supose to do is just what I am looking for, I want to run a mix of hinglong and tamiya parts, I want tamiya recoil and I want better sound, I want hl turret rotation and gun elevation, I also want to run tamiya apples....If I can not figure it out, well, thats a cunk of cash down the drain, sucks to be me. If I can get it figured out, well then I saved a bunch of money over just buying full tamiya systems.

RE: where to find KT yellow or grey
thanks.....yes but .....I am a bit of a paint nut....I stripped the tank of all the electronics, skuffed up the paint on the flat parts with some 400 grit sandpaper and washed the plastic in some soapy water......not sure it needed all of that but like I said, there is a solvent in the putty that binds it with the plastic ....I use that stuff for weld lines also. btw, that king tiger is the one I am cutting up for my E-100 project.....seems I can not keep from chopping up hl king tigers..... my other king tiger looks like this....... The germans put zimmerit on with trowls and slopped it on like cement. Some people use a gear on a paperclip to get the choppy look, If done right It can look great but it is very easy to get the zimmerit to thick imo. you can always do some "dry runs" on a peace of plastic with out messing with the tank. I used this pic to copy...
