RE: Seagull Yak?
I cut the pilot out of mine then painted the inside of the clear plastic black. I think that knocked off 5 oz. Raydar is right. Mine is right at 10.5 Lbs and that is the most I would go.

RE: Seagull Yak?
Yes. I added the equivalent of 3 #6 washers to give it right thrust.. I used a bigger diameter washer because the small one just pushed into the firewall. I tracks great.

RE: Seagull Yak?
I have a Supertigre 25CC on mine with a 18x6 and its perfect. Had to add 4 oz tail weight. Would not go any bigger. Have 50 or so flights and nothing rattled loose yet. Did have a couple stock hinges break and changed them all to radio south 1/4 scale hinges.

RE: Supertigre 2500 Muffler exit opening size
Do you mean 10% castor of the total oil? Like 70% syn 30% castor is good? I got a 18x6W APC and seems about right.

RE: Supertigre 2500 Muffler exit opening size
That is the first thing I noticed when I got the Perry carb that the opening is about 1/3 bigger than the stock. Probably why i lost no power blocking one of the stacks on the bisson pitts muffler. When i had both stacks open it would just lean way out and die when held upright. When I bought the engine (used but new) it did not come with a muffler so i was kinda limited on what i could use.

RE: Supertigre 2500 Muffler exit opening size
Pylonracr The S-2500 i have is Italian and runs great with the pitts muffler just a little hesitation when i hammer the throttle. Tried 10% nitro instead of the 5% I have been using and runs perfect on the ground but have not tried 10% in the air yet.I have a .61 china made ST and runs perfect. Its really sad that parts are so hard to find. ST has been the engine choice in my family for 50+ years. My next engine will more than likely be a different brand but for the price of ST's you could run it till it dies than just get a new one i guess.

RE: Supertigre 2500 Muffler exit opening size
Well...I went out in my yard today and ran some 10% nitro instead of 5% and WOW what a difference. Better top end, WAY better transition and better idle. This is my first big ST but by far not my first ST. Everyone insisted use 5% nitro or NO nitro. Maybe thats why people can not get these to run right. Still would like to get a answer to my first question just so i know I got the same muffler pressure from the pitts as i would from the stock.

RE: Bunged up transmitter?
If you reversed it on the Tx and it went the opposite direction then it is something with the Tx and should not be servo or Rx related. Did you move the other sticks and see if the elevator moved? Check out Spektrums website about the DX4e. They have some bulletins about problems with this system. Is your "mode" switch on "mode II"?

RE: Bunged up transmitter?
I am a futaba guy but i looked on their website and it says you can change modes with a switch. Try it again and see if the throttle stick moves the elevator or will any other stick move the elevator.

Supertigre 2500 Muffler exit opening size
Hello, I know there are LOTS of threads on the big Supertigre's but I can not spend all day looking for this. Even though I pretty much have...lol I have a ST S2000/25cc with a perry carb and pitts muffler. I have blocked off one of the tubes and it runs great but not perfect. I really like my engines to run perfect. I would like to compare the remaining opening on my pitts muffler to the opening on the stock muffler just to see where i am at. I do not have the stock muffler. Tower shows the same muffler for the S2000, 2500, 3000, 3250 and 4500. If someone could maybe get me a measurement of the muffler exit hole I would be very much appreciated. Like I say. I have this engine running pretty dang good with some trial and error so feel free to ask me if you have this engine and need some ideas. I am not here just for answers. Thanks, Steven

Well, the stock tube only weighs 3 7/8 oz so how much we really gonna save with the CF?

RE: Seagull Yak?
ok jknox, You got me thinking and i started measuring. I come up with 19mm O.D. and 17mm I.D. would be the correct size for a carbon fiber wing tube. I did it with my dial calipers but had to convert inches to mm's. So my numbers are a little weird like i actually came up with 19.1 mm's but that could just be +/- error of my calipers. Any one else out there buy a CF wing tube for this? Maybe you could do some measuring and we could compare.

RE: Seagull Yak?
jknox, happychoice2009 is a good ebay seller for CF products or www.cfpart.com is their website. I am looking into the CF wingtube. I also got rid of the pilot myself and think it dropped a little over 4 oz. I have almost 2 gallons flight time on mine and i am in love with the Yak. I am trying to drop more weight cause I am using a Supertigre 2000/25cc and had to add 5 oz tail weight.

Opps....I forgot I had a aluminum plate with the stock gear just to help since it was a 2 piece gear. It weighed 7/8 oz. I counted that 7/8 oz as the total weight loss.
