RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
I hear what your saying mate but its pretty irrelevant considering that when I plug the glow plug ignitor to the terminals the glow plugs were burning out meaning there was something wrong and would only mean in my eyes that it is getting too much voltage and by doing what I did with the balance charger just shows there is way over the top voltage coming through the glow plug terminals which has lead me to believe either its blown or I need to change the voltage regulator. I will be investing in a volt meter at some point but I think my theory at the moment is spot on

RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
Should of mentioned this before my message above. I did try something in an unorthodox way to check how much voltage was coming out of the panel, I have a balance charger which can take external power in and requires between 11-18V DC to work so I used the the starter box panel plugged into the glow plug socket to send power to the balance charger and it came on!! So now I'm thinking it is giving out too much voltage?!

RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
I just toke it off the panel to look underneath at the circuit board and I can see the Voltage Regulator, if I change this do you think it would fix my issue? I've been told I should buy the LM317TG voltage regulator or shall I buy the same on the board?
ORIGINAL: flyinwalenda If you are plugged into the left jacks with the pot turned to the left and are blowing plugs then the glow circuit has failed and your getting 12 volts direct to the plug. RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
No not my one... Check the link below its a Duratrax I have http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/duratrax/dtxp5770.html
ORIGINAL: nitroexpress Sounds like you have an OFNA power panel. Keep in mind that red and black glow plug leads are not meant to plug into the red and black plugs on the panel (this would be 12V). Glow plug leads go into the yellow plugs.http://www.rcboca.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/200x/17f82f742ffe127f42dca9de82fb58b1/o/f/ofn92571.jpg
RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
Yea its a proper glow plug with red and black leads/jacks connected to it so you can plug straight into a starter box panel. I don't have a voltage reader right now but I did try something in an orthodox way to check how much voltage was coming out of the panel, I have a balance charger which can take external power in and requires between 11-18V to work so I used the the starter box panel plugged into the glow plug socket to send power to the balance charger and it came on!! So now I'm thinking it is giving out too much voltage?!
ORIGINAL: flyinwalenda Do you have the glow plug leads plugged into the glow plug jacks and not the starter jacks? It's been done before and you send unreguated 12 volts to the glow plug. If it's connected properly and you have the dial set to low and it's still blowing plugs then your glow plug frequency circuit on the panel has failed. Putting a meter on the glow plug terminals of the power panel it will read 12volts regardless if the frequency circuit is working or not. It's not going to read 1.5 volts. It doesn't work that way. If you have a scope you can see what is happening. If you have electronic board repair experience you can repair the circuit. If not then you can use a glow stick or buy another power panel.
Glow plug burning out on power panel
Hi Guys I have a starter box with a power panel and never really used my ignitor plugged to the power panel to glow my plugs, until the other day, I running my starter off a lipo battery and even if I put the settings to low it will still blow my plug. Is this normal when using lipo, I'm thinking the lipo may just give too many volts which is blowing it or do I just have a faulty panel, either way how can I fix this? Thanks guys in advance

Help how to add LED for Flysky GT3B
Hi I'm trying to add a Led to my GT3B I've fitted it correctly but have done the wiring wrong i'm sure. It lights up but it's on all the time, meaning even when the transmitter switch is off it's on unless I take the battery out. I've read on link http://www.rctech.net/forum/9399936-post2016.html the guide but I'm not looking to change the regulator and it says something about using a resistor. Can someone give me a step-by-step guide on how to install the led wiring only, would be ever so grateful, with pics if possible. I'm just getting slightly confused as I've never done it before and want to get it right without damaging my transmitter. Thanks in advance

RE: Help on how to customize cut Starter Box
Right thought I give you guys an update been a bit busy cause of work so didn't get around to fitting the flywheel sooner. Anyway finally fitted the larger flywheel and "Wow" what a difference, it's a bit late in the night so can't test the flywheel working but as it stands visually it so much lower, but not low enough that it sticks out or right next to chassis hole, sits a good 5mm away. It looks very likely with the bigger flywheel it may work without any modding to the starter box the only problem I have noticed which was something mentioned on another forum is the chassis hole is not big enough and one side of the edge is touching the starter wheel. So it looks like I may need to make the hole under the chassis bigger from one side, which to be honest isn't too bad as it's an easier mod to do rather than modding the starter box.

RE: Where can I buy Redcat Racing Truck Bodies???
Yea first place I tried, but having said that I did have a bit of success last night. the first guy I found and he was the only guy on ebay had the same ridiculous shipping rates which is about $50 to UK plus $34 for body shell. Errrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!! But then I emailed a seller who sells HSP Racing parts in the UK, exact same skeleton and parts as Redcat Racing. I ordered the part 2 months ago but he had problems with his chinese supplier, no surpise there then and to my surprise he had finally got it in stock, it's branded HSP Racing rather then Redcat Racing but is the exact same shell. here's the link.... http://www.rchobbyestore.co.uk/spares-c1/spare-car-parts-c2/body-shells-c18/hsp-08705-1-8-scale-hsp-monster-truck-painted-body-shell-p349
ORIGINAL: derailed75 Have you tried Ebay? Where can I buy Redcat Racing Truck Bodies???
Hi I live in the UK and want to buy 1/8 scale truck body which is branded by Redcat Racing. No one has it locally here or even on UK rc websites. I've found a handful in the US but no one ships to UK?! Errrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! So was wondering if anyone knew where I can get this and have it shipped to UK? Thanks and I've added picture of what it looks like below.

RE: Broke antenna wire Flysky GT3B - Any suggestions?!
Thanks for your input Proline but I don't agree it's junk. You need a bit of skill with the right tools and it can be fixed and use the forums that's what they are there for and you'll get some brilliant advise from someone who has some experiene and know how in coming across the same problem and how to fix it etc.. Something I read on a forum which I do agree with, if your not a pro racer and just want to go bashing at your local park, track etc this GT3B Tx is perfect. It has super range, great features and for the price it's not a bad looking and the build quality is pretty decent too. Plus with all the hacking and mod's you can do to this Tx it's something worth keeping .

RE: Broke antenna wire Flysky GT3B - Any suggestions?!
Right looks like I may of fixed it Smilie Big thanks to Antmax from RC Tech forum gave me some brill guidance and with the picture I found it all made sense, I'm pretty sure I sorted out my problem. I've only tested in my garden at the mo where I was losing signal too and with the test today all went well by the looks of it. Just need to test it at the park now and hope the range is still there [:D]

Answer-RC Super Twist 3 (ANSCSTL04) - Your Opinion??
Hi Am looking to buy a RC Clutch Tool, quite fancied the aluminium version as plastic one's are a bit weak, they do one by Answer-RC picture below traditional style, but the problem is no one does this one anymore they have now upgraded it to the newer version which has a handle like a screwdriver "Answer-RC Super Twist 3 (ANSCSTL04)", again picture provided below. I'm not too keen on the newer version as I feel that I can get a better grip with the older style as the handle goes across horizontally making it easy to pull, so I think, I don't think a screwdriver handle version makes it any easier if anything I think it may be harder. Anyway would like to hear if anyone has one and what they think? Is my theory correct or am I wrong and should try it out? As always thanks in advance

Broke antenna wire Flysky GT3B - Any suggestions?!
Hi Toke my truck out today for a run and found it was losing signal and cutting off. I previously opened my transmitter for doing some mods but accidentally broke the wire from the transmitter circuit board, I did solder it back on and all seemed fine but when I toke it out today when it goes about 50 yards away it stops moving, engine still running, and as soon as I walk closer it starts moving but all this is still very temperamental. Diagnosed the problem and put it down to the the aerial. I'm presuming I need to re-solder it but should I be soldering it a certain way or should I buy another wire or could I use something new in it's place to make it better? Thanks Reply directly to this post Quote MultiQuote allows you to select multiple posts across multiple topics, then reply to them all at once MultiQuote Edit this post Edit

RE: Help on how to customize cut Starter Box
Hi guys Sorry for the late reply but like nitro said yes I bought a 41mm flywheel, haven't got it yet as it's on route. Wouldn't be too keen to say yet problem solved as you never know with these things you try something and then hey presto another problem pops up. But yea without a doubt in theory this is a great solution if it works, may need to grind the chassis hole as it looks a bit small but will give you guys an update in a week when I get the flywheel. Thanks for all the tips and help anything else you think I should know please keep it coming
ORIGINAL: Tnasty Does the "c" rating matter? Would a 11.1v 20c 2200mah battery work? Awesome video, thanks.
Hi mate The "C rate" is irrelivent in this case as the transmitter will only pull the power from the battery pack it needs. So you should be fine. I'm pretty sure the only time you benefit when it comes to "C rating" is when you put lipo's in rc vehicles, heli's and planes etc. Thanks also for the thumbs up regarding my vids Any other help give me a shout

Help on how to customize cut Starter Box
Hi Everyone Right I bought my first Starter Box and to my surprise it does not fit my truck. Very annoying and it's suppose to be universal/multi whatever they call it, "what a load of crap" Anyway been on the net trying to see if other people have had the same problem as me and I did find quite a few. What I also found out is that a lot of guys have adapted there boxes by cutting them and lifting the wheel to make it fit or shall I say work. My question is has anyone done this... How did you go abouts doing it? What tools did you use? Any tips or techniques I should use? Also did you have to cut the chassis too? I have a fair idea what to do but want to make sure I do it right before I start. Thanks in advance
