ORIGINAL: David Gladwin
How crazy is that. Wren is about 100 miles away & Wren USA is offering to send an ECU across the atlantic[:D].
This whole thread is bizarre unless I have missed something significant ! An exceptionally well designed and built engine malfunctions after running well. The designer and manufacturer is a phone call away. The Royal Mail will take the small box quickly and cheaply to Wren so they can and will solve the problem, quickly and they do not overcharge for servicing. They will even look into it for you while you wait if you take it personally ! Yet we have two pages of the problem here with guys second guesssing the possible problems. We even have an offer to send ECUs across the Atlantic. My 3 Wrens , SS, 44 and XL 200, run perfectly, and no engine is better built than a Wren. PLEASE give Wren the opprtunity to solve the problem, it could easily have been solved by now ! and surely, if an engine is not functioning perfectly it should not be flown until the problem is identified and rectified. Or is there something I have missed ? Regards, David Gladwin.
spoke to wren but never seem to get much joy this engine has been back there 3 times in its warranty, somethink came lose inside ,had 3 fuel pumps and lost a lot of good flying days due to problems, which we don`t get many in the uk . its only got 16 hours run time and now i got to pay out more money to get it going again[&o]thats why its not gone back yet, because i`am wondering if its good money after bad. cheer`s lozza but don`t think it`s the fuel pump. ron i know how your mate feels might follow him down that road yet.

I have 42 hours on my SS and it runs on standard 3mm fuel tubing as originally supplied fed from a BVM air trap.
ORIGINAL: madfreestyler Hey All, Ive just started putting the radio / services tray together but if i put the UAT in front of the main tank it is difficult to access the front wing retainer bolts with the tray in place, i notice many of the pics on here are simular. Thanks in advance
HI i screwed some m6 bolts in to the tee nuts in the wings with the head cut off and a 60 deg tappered cross hole drill in it ( use center drill ) and fix some blocks in the fuz which these go into and the got a six m/m grub screw with a 60 deg point on it which screws into the block and into the tappered hole pulling the wings up no need to go into the fuz down the field just two small holes in the bottom to put the allen key in works great[:D] http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5913492/mpage_39/key_/tm.htm note the small allen key holes next to the screw for the hatch
ORIGINAL: sweetpea01 Ok......I seriously going to start the build on this plane. Actually last night I tore the covering off the wings and I have the nose gear installed but not the steering, so I'm at least started. Here is what I'd like all you Falcon 120 flyers to post so its all together. I'd like to see a condensed section so its all right there for me to find. If I have specific questions I'll PM (if you are willing to answer). 1. Former mods to fit fuel tanks 2. Canopy attachment methods, both stock canopy or the stronger aftermarket one 3. If you did a cockpit, show that 4. Mods to the fiberglass section that holds the turbine 5. Bracket system to hold the turbine (if anyone sells one I'd be willing to discuss) and how the degree of downthrust 6. If you made mods to the wings (for me I plan to reglue formers and install CF tubes, then cover the holes and fiberglass the wings) I think having a few posts of these 6 things will help me (and others) have all that info at a quick glance. I plan to do the same with mine as well as I build it over the next few weeks.
go to page 39

RE: wren supersport
ORIGINAL: HenryRG Mis-Use of RCU I think we need to be very careful of RCU being used as a bludgeon toget to the top of repair queues, get free this or or that - simply by slagging off good and hardworking little firms that can not afford toanswer back but do their best to support our hobby. I have over the past seven years or so bought 2 MW54s, 3 Mw44s and 3Supersports - most of them 2nd hand at very reasonable prices. Over this period Wrens have been unfailingly helpful, reasonably priced in sorting out my own and my pre-owners foolish mistakes. Never once have they turned around and said "You are not the original owner!". Let's face it - this is the time of year when even the best of us pile our models in the ground. Even the best of us leave our fuel pumps dry or partially dry over the winter, allow our fuel pipes and our fuel filters to become blocked, kinked or perforated. Even the best inadvertently allow "crud" into the system. What is not so forgivable is sling our equipment back asking for FOC repair or replacement for what is really caused by our own error. Pumps do not suddenly stopworking without a reason. I have wrecked a pump because I ran it with the manual override switch off, because I left it knocking around on the work bench without connecting the input/output with plenty of fuel in it and perhaps because I crashed. I can see no good reason why you guys should pay for my mistakes in the price of your new engine or visaversa simply because I fancy a rant on RCU and conceal my mistakes. I hope moderators will have a good look at this problem and see to it that no personal gain can be or will be obtained as a result of a thread or threat of a thread on RCU. In my view it should be done only after a complainant has shown a moderator "just cause and reasonable attempts to sort his problem". I am sure both manufacturers and distributors, who have sufferred, would support some form of hot line rather than this form of "blue-mail" For the record - I have not got engine with them at the moment or nor any financial interest in them or in the model trade in general.
Henry top of repair queues get free this or or that - simply by slagging off good and hardworking little firms. are you on the same forum as us or planet .sara knows the problem i had with this engine and its just took abit too long to send me a new pump in my eyes but i think its on its way now.and as far as dry pump etc you might do things like that but some of us are a bit more carefull of what we do so to you.
