That kind of sounds like an air-leak. Check everywhere and see if everything is connected tightly.
ORIGINAL: Cloud15x I dont want to steal your thread, but im going to be doing the same thing. I have an origional RS4 also and I just ordered a .12R SS for it. My question is, whats the best car i can get for racing and still use that engine for the time being? R40?(I would rather buy a car without engine and controller)
i would suggest the serpent 710 saw one run and it was amazing how it handles and all that

RE: new sirio 12 evo 2 help please!
i have a sirio too, try these needle settings...... Sirio .12/15/18 (General Carburetor Settings) High Speed - 5.5 turns Low Speed - 2-1/2 (Generally this should be flush with the end of the slide) Mid Range - Flush then one turn out also my sirio did not come with a o'ring in the base of the carb you could get one just ask your lhs for one
ORIGINAL: Vanquish24 Yea the knowledge of some of these LHS guys is Laughable sometimes. Hey try a hotter plug if your engine stall when you take the igniter out.
lol yeah.this engine has a hot plug because this is a turbo engine also i noticed that i dont have a washer around the glow plug so i guess i have to make another 30 min trip to the lhs for a washer cuz all the washers i have are less wide then this glow plug........

RE: how can you.......
ORIGINAL: WhiskyVR-4
ORIGINAL: newbie003 also is it possible to have am air leak in the carb?
yes, it is not only possible, but likely if you have removed the carb. On most carbs there is a rubber ring seal between the carb and the engine block that keeps air from getting in after the carb has metered the fuel. I would check that first. You can also seal it with a VERY

RE: zipties around the heatsink
yes it is to secure the cooling head if the car flips with out a body on it (so you wont get your engines cooling head scratched)

RE: does anyone know the break-in needle setting for sirio .12?
i got it started up then when i took the igniter of it died but now i think i got an air leak somewhere between the engine and the header or the header and the pipe. What car do you have your sirio on? the lsh people are stupider than me the first guy who wanted to help me he thought this engine was a pull start and that he could have started it in a snap so he charged me 20 bucks just to set my throttle linkage which i knew how to do already and he gave me a new gas tank for some reason..... dont know why because the one i had was new. then the second guy actually tried tuning and starting it....so he was more help than the 1st one

yeah i tried that setting before but the mid range needle is the one that gets me pissed of because the compression wont even push the fuel to the carb......

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
a very good place to purchase after market parts is www.towerhobbies.com they sell really good hop ups for the rs4's. The RS4 RTR 3 i think does come with a 2 speed already. Yes, a different/better pipe will incresse your performance such as the ths pipe. I suggest you need to get a graphic upper deck, graphic back and front shock towers, a new pipe, aluminume threaded shocks, and a better air filter (strongly suggest the motor saver air filter). and about the pull start you can change to a roto start or get a starter box......

RE: Stuck
the graphic upper deck will fit i asked another member on here if it will and he said it does fit wihout any mods to it, im also getting the graphic upper deck as well. the shocks are worth buying (check the rs4 thread and see what kind of difference they make.....)but i believe they help in handling not sure.and i never saw the ti upper and lower chassis, front rear towers, and alunimune shocks.maybe a link to them will help......

RE: does anyone know the break-in needle setting for sirio .12?
man i had this engine for quiet some time now about 2 weeks cant start it no matter what. tomarrow im going to the hobby shop so they can start it for me......also a temp gun is very helpful so you know how much degrees the engine is at. The hair dryer is the best way to heat up the engine. Get the engine up to 200 degrees then the flywheel will be fairly easy to turn. Oh yeah after each tank of break-in i suggest you put a couple of drops of after run oil so the engine will be easy to trun over...... hope you get your engine started.....
