Andreas! Im So sorry to hear about your loss :( Wow Man, I dont know what to say... I know the flying wires are THE most important part of the Building Process... They need to be Perfect! Some People have drilled a small hole through the wire end and installed a steel pin after Brazing their Wires for added Strength to their Wires. I am so Sorry Andreas. Was there anything Salvageable? Did the Moki Survive?

Hello Andreas... Congrats on finishing it! PLEASE PLEASE save your Engine!!!!!! On this Plane Engine combo, You will need to Baffle the Engine before you fly or you may over heat the Motor Causing Sever Damage. The Cowl is Huge and the Majority of the Air will go around the engine and not through the Cylinders like it needs to to properly cool the Moki. If the Cowl was smaller it wouldnt be an Issue. I was talking to Gots From Areo Scale and he has had a Few of these motors Come back to him for Overheating repairs, And the motor was used in the Carf Gee Bee! So please, Save your Engine and Baffle it so the Air Passes through the Cylinders and not around the Engine. WE WANT VIDEO!!! :)

Hello Andreas, No I do not have the total Weight Yet. I had just Ordered the Rest of my Flight System, Two More 4000 Mil Batteries and the Power Box Systems Co- Pilot. Also ordered My Sidel Scale Prop.. As soon as I take Delivery of these Items, I will then let you know what the Approximate Weight will be. But I do Expect it to be a slight bit heavier than Most. I had the Airframe Worked on before Construction. All the seam lines were Erased and had It Repainted So with that, I expect a little heavier but hopefully not by much. I will let you know as soon as I do! :)

Hello Jimmy... I too had your same tail wheel set up in my kit.. I tried to make sense of the tail wheel assembly myself and ran into the same road block. Soooooo, Richard turned me on to Fults. Its the way to go. Here are a few more Pictures of my Progress of the Radio tray. Thought it might help with a few Ideas for Everyone else. Hope you like! :)

A couple more... oh and i chose no tiller because being straight down will promote better steering capabilities. Richard said if he build another one he would do the same. I got the Idea from him. So thats how I Installed mine. :)

Hello Andreas... Yes the Stock Shock Absorbers Work well and I believe Everyone has been using them with no problems. Although with the Mokies up front the absorbers may need to be stiffened up a bit with a heavier spring or not, Still waiting to see what my finished weight is going to be with mine. I was chatting with Gotz at Aero-Scale, he knows these Mokies inside and out and he suggests going with the 30x20 Wood Prop. This will be the Most Efficient for this Engine, but also good speed. Your Moki Mount looks great. Here is mine. :)

Hello Andreas (AKA tridente) Are you Setting up for a Moki Install? I was Curious Because I am too. I noticed in your pictures the Bolt pattern for the Engine is Very Similar in nature for a MOki install, Not to mention the Carb or Ventury Way... Nice Job on your Dome! :)

Notice in the last set of Pictures how short the Wing joining tubes were before I replaced then with longer and stronger wing tubes.

Hey SJN... Yes, Very good Idea installing your servos in the rear wings. That's what I did and they turned out very nice. with that and sealing the hing gap should take care of the Problem. Also don't forget to beef up your rear Wing tubes. I still wouldn't trust the upgraded tubes they provided in these kits. I haven't flown mine yet but still looking forward to the day. Just not finished with it yet.

Hey Rowdog... Well...My two cents worth, I contemplated the same thing trying to Figure the best servo to use. I was looking at the JR Z8800T HT Digital when I Found out that JR had Discontinued it. So... Back to my search. Long story short, I wanted to make sure I had Everything covered to Maximum Insurance. I thought or a decent HT Digital Servo I;d be spending about a hundred bucks, So I decided to go with the JR 8911HV... 470 oz/in with titanium gears. I just wanted to added insurance these servos provide. The throttle servo... I'd go with a good Metal geared servo, you certainly dont want to strip gears during halF throttle on this Bird!!! Wow Hannes, Great Job! That looks Awesome! So much or that Idea!! lol My only concern is with those only bolted on leaves a chance oF coming apart in the air? Perhaps you already have it covered but looks really dangerous to me. But still... Great job on the Idea though!!! BEAUTIFUL!

Hey 40Gee Bee, Well things are a little slow on my end but looking great. I just finished my tail wheel setup with a pull pull system. Just getting ready to start on my flying wires. One of my Challenges consists of making my flying wire holes very small and at the precise location keeping the exit holes to a bare Min. My Exit holes will be the shape of the flying wires. I think this will look very clean. So yeah... its coming along well. Thanks for asking! :) Vince...

Hey Jimmy, Yes the Solo Prop does look very nice But unfortunately will only be a Static Prop. I was looking into Several Prop choices and came across some interesting information. While the Solo Prop does Work and works well, Its not a very efficient Prop. So Im going to fly a solid 32 x 20. Ill Break it in with a 32 x 18.

Hey Jimmy, Yes, I bought the tail wheel as well. The tail wheel is a 2 1/2 Dubro Ultra light. Its a Foam wheel. I don't mind changing it out from time to time.

RE: Composite-Arf 33% Gee Bee R2 - First Flight - Pics - Videos - L@@K
Just to recap on the tail wheel subject, I had ordered another tail wheel setup from Carf due to loosing mine. The First Picture is what they had sent me :/... there was no way to lock the steering arm into place. So... I found FULTS! Just like Richard had said, This is the way to go. I just added another arm to Allow me to use a Pull Pull System. Not to mention it was a fraction of the Price. I drilled the Axel ends out to 1/4 inch and used a 1/8 x 1/4 hardened Aluminum tube for my Axel. Then a long bolt to pass through the Axel to mount the Wheel Pant. I used a Dubro Ultra Light 2 1/2 wheel. I hope this helps.
