RE: shortening a stinger drive
mis-print, it was the stock 380L motor (getting hot made me change) on 3s in parallel the 1900kv on 4s was getting me upto 46mph, so i will swap for a longer stinger and will install the 2200kv motor on 4s when it gets here, i use an airspeed indicator i apologise guys, im in such a hurry to get it all posted and i'm not explaining myself fully, will try better next time

RE: shortening a stinger drive
dont mean to sound ungrateful for all the comments but the stinger i shortend is working very well indeed, on dead flat water running all stock with 3s, i got 52mph out of her, still got to get speed reading on 4s yet and i did extend the rudder stand off, may even buy a new stinger yet

they should have dealers on street corners and in alleys selling parts, they'd make a killing doing that

RE: HOR 25
as you've seen on my videos al, i have only one on the right side mounted on hull side and not the transom, i also have the rudder travel set at about 70% which means i can swing out high and turn in low, if they work for you as they are then thats cool, my way works for me, i apologise if you felt like i was ''teaching nan how to suck eggs''

RE: HOR 25
al dont have the turn fins angled so much, they'll just add drag, mount the on the side's, put in 1 bolt on both, then when you have them set where they work really well, then install the other bolt to keep it secure, as you've from my vid's, the boat turns like its on rails

RE: 25
thats completely different to the one i have, its 3/4" the length of the motor, has 1mm clearence between the motor and the inside of the cooler i've ordered a new typhoon 500H motor from HK, its the 2200kv which will go in my cat on 4s, will give me 32k rpm's, should bring the amp draw down a bit and run cooler, just got to wait for it to arrive now, may even buy the 600H and stick it in the 29" mono

RE: 25
i'd rather have the etti coolers, apart from the outrunner, i have them on all my motors, its annoying when the o-ring breaks, i have some acrylic tube coming to make a cooler for the 380 motor plus i have new o-rings aswell

RE: 25
that should shift, i think they made a mistake putting a 380L motor with the cooler (about 1mm clearence inside) just got to damn hot, they should've put a 380XL inside instead

RE: 25
oh yes, after 2 minute run its barely warm hence the 36mm prop to try next, i ran the boat 4 or 5 times and only have about 0.6v to put back in each cell, so all in all total run time on 4s was about 10 minutes at full throttle

RE: Brand new Mini Rio owner
alignment, batteries and shaft grease are usually the first things to find out as the manufaturer just chucks it together and says ''that'll do'' give the batts a good charge, as above , check alignment of the motot to propshaft (adjust if needed) clean and re-grease the prop shaft (they don't use enough) and check the clearance between strut and drive dog, should be 1mm - 2mm to allow for expansion, the motor will pull slightly when spinning around

i use 3000mah 3s 30c in parallel and the batt's barely get warm, i'm going to upgrade from 8L to 8XL as the motor gets rather toasty so i have to limit runtimes to about 2 minutes
