RE: homelite ?
i agree that the major smackdown ( cooling cap and having him do the install for 15 bucks would be best) we gave you the link on your other homelite post. I think shipping is only 5 bucks via usps? however if you found a head already done that would be just as good. try "Butch T" he is a member here. i remember he had a bunch of old stock homelite parts ? dont know how many or what he still has. good luck

the cheeta is already riged. i am sure i will dissasemble it and do my magic to the interior and chage out the old marine specialties metal clutch. dont think i will installa drive on this one. just do the drivers and bow safety line. ect. here is a pic of the warhawk. i think you might recognize that drive. RE: could someone help me get information on a motor??
you do worry me Scott. [:D] Vaine , you must remember Scott is a motor head just like me. He competes big time and HP is his game. but sometimes its not all about the HP. As a motor that is probably one of the easiest to work on a convert to marine. it has lots of old articals showing how to watercool it, and the crank is solid with bearings at both ends. its also very compact and has its own clutch which is one of the reasons it was popular. With that said these motors were around during the start of our great hobby. i have a box-load (40) of them sitting in storage brand new never run. they make great model boat engines and i have even seen a couple that were converted for planes. as long as your not looking to go Mach II. I have several old boats powered by watercooled versions of this Mac/Kiortz engine. they run all day long with no problems . they can run 20-30 mph in 48" hull depending on your set up. its not 50? but its still fun. these pics are of the first boat i ever built in 1985. it has a mac engine and an AMPs drive on it. Still goin strong today. good luck

RE: First time running Rio51+Zenoah,not a good day
with the spark plug still removed spray lots of that oil into the carb and turn the engine with the pull starter so that the oil will follow the normal flow thru the block and crank just like the fuel would...... put plenty in until you can see, smell and see the oil coming out of the sparkplug hole. it will be OK after that . let it sit all night with that oil in it. it wont hurt . then tomorrow clear all the oil out just like you cleared the water out today. (boat upside down and pull the starter handle a few times). once you start it in the morning just use a little more oil in the fuel mix than normal and let it run for a while till it get up to running temp . that way it will get out all the moisture out and have plenty of lubrication from the excess oil in the fuel..

not a problem ! any lubricant will work . remember it will burn away as soon as you start the engine.

RE: First time running Rio51+Zenoah,not a good day
giorgos , fresh water is not a problem ! but salt water is totaly different. you should wash that boat down right away with fresh water. just pour water from the pipe into the engine. or fill the spark pull hole with water and let the water pour out of the exhaust. then turn the boat upside down and pull the starter to get all the fresh water out of the engine. Then, spray your lubricant into the motor and pull it threw a couple more times. mix up a little fuel (with more oil than normal so it will smoke) that way you get allot of oil in the engine when it is running. put this heavy oil mixed fuel into the tank . put the plug back in and start it up . your done. let it run a while with water hooked up to it from the hose. the electronics ? are probably lost? but you will have to check each item out when it dries out. those you should really get freash water into then lube then up with your spray.

RE: First time running Rio51+Zenoah,not a good day
Giorgos , your running in the SEA ! right . sea water ? (salt). empty the fuel tank completely! then you need to take a hose to the entire boat engine, pipe and all ! you need to get ALL the salt out of everything! pull the sparkplug and fill the entire MOTOR , PULLSTARTER, PIPE! you name it you need to fill it with fresh water so it can dilute the salt. then get all the fresh water out as explained above . then CRC everything! lots of CRC. motor will start right up and once you get clean fuel back ito the carb.

RE: OLD PRATHER DEEP VEE W/ AMPS OUTDRIVE
Chad , just got the stuff in the mail today. sorry for the delay but been real busy at work. the metal u-joint (made out of 1/4" drive metal tool universal) is probably not a good option/idea . that much mass is liable to create a new problem for the gears. i make my own u-joints out of plastic. heat up a 3/8" allen key and slide it into the right size plastic tube and "VIOLA". I then machine the ears with a small milling machine. I use to do it buy hand before i got the little mill , so i know it can be done.

RE: How does a Homelite compare to zenoha?
ok , yes! the hommies are very reliable. power wise , wont keep up with a Zenoah 26. probably a 25 to 30 mph WHH magnum with the hommie. 35-40+ with the Zen.

RE: OLD PRATHER DEEP VEE W/ AMPS OUTDRIVE
ok . took me a while to find the box of goodies. but i did. so how many gears are affected? you sent several pics but all of them are blury and i really cant tell whats good or bad in the shot. should only be 4 gears in the drive. 1 = input gear ( on the input shaft driveline behind the u-joint assy) 2= upper gear ( mid section of outdrive top gear) 3= lower gear ( mid section of outdrive bottom gear) I THINK YOUR TALKING ABOUT THIS ONE ? 4= output gear ( on the propshaft driveline forward of the propeller) please confirm which one we are talking about . if it is the one i marked? then you need to check the output gear really well. 3 loose teeth down there for who knows how long might have damaged it as well.
