Old Inline .35
I have an old Inline .35 engine. There are no other markings on it other than Inlin .35. I was told that it was made by Alexander Ossovick of Profi in the USSR. I was curious if anyone on RCU had anything to say about it. I was thinking about listing it but I have no idea how much it is worth.

RE: Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
Been flying mine on 2 5S 5000's. I love it. I can get 15+ minutes of flying easy. I usually fly two shorter 6-7 minute flights and then change packs. The cub is over powered. I can pull straight up vertical for about 300 feet. Cruise around at 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. I have been running Sky Lipo packs but just got in some Haiyin's to try out. I hope to put on some floats this summer. Setup: Tacon 160 ICE 85HV Xoar 19x10 prop

RE: Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
hidaven, There are many guys running the electric setups. Either Power 110's on 8S or Power 160's on 10S. Look at my earlier posts on my setup. I went with the Power 160 equivalent (Tacon) because I wanted the extra margin of power for floats. I am getting easy 15 minute flights and working my way up to 20 minutes with about 1000 mAh left over. It flies great on at half throttle and is smooth and quiet. I'm not as familiar with the 1.20.

Yep. Not enough airspeed and pulled up to steep. Sorry for the mishap. Hopefully there wasn't too much damage. Good luck on your next try! I don't use any mixing either. It's not an Ercoupe.

RE: Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
I thought I would post a couple picts of my new H9 cub. I maidened it yesterday. I went with an electric setup on 10S. It will fly great at 1/4 - 1/2 throttle and has unlimited vertical WOT! I plan on putting on floats soon and thats the reason for the extra power :) I am getting over 15 minutes of flight with this setup and it pulls 65 amps WOT with a little over 2500 watts. it's a great flying plane. RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
Work continues slowly on my Fleet. I got side tracked by a couple other projects. NOw I am waiting on some backordered Solartex before I can finish the covering.

I got my Fleet logos cut out for the rudder. I used a Cricut machine and the Sure Cuts Alot software to trace the logo and send it to the cutter.

Thanks. Did you order it from the UK? Does anyone have any good pictures of the aileron servo setup? I am mounting a servo in each wing and am trying to figure out the best way to mount the servo in between the wing ribs.

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
The Concept Fleet is definitely a "builders" plane. My fleet was originally built by a good friend of mine back in the early 90's. It had a Quadra Q35 on the front. It was covered in red monokote and never flown. It hung from the ceiling for many years. Once I got it I stripped it down and that’s where some of the red stuff shows on the fuselage. I decided to give it a ground up restoration :-) If you look closely you can see my N struts are made from a single piece of 1/4" plywood sheet. They are all one piece. Good enough and I am not going to go through the hassle of making new ones. I got my pinking tape form Gary at http://www.pink-it.net. It is made from Solartex or 21st century fabric and available in many colors and in 1/3 scale too. Mein Duff, I am also interested in your cockpit. Where did you get the full body pilot?

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
Here are some more pictures of my progress today. I managed to cover both of the upper wings. I am using Pink-It pinking tape. It looks really good. The flying wires are also done except for some final adjustments. I am also rebuilding the vertical stabilizer and rudder. The ones on the plans seem a little flimsy. I am making the uprights out of basswood instead of balsa to strengthen them up.

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
Thanks. I am not painting. Just using silver and red Solartex. I will be using some pinking tape from Pink-It and just want to seal the edges down real good so they wont peal.

RE: Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
red_noir, Are you using the stock muffler on the DLE 20 or a pits style? Did you have to do anything weird to get the throttle linkage hooked up with the rear carb? I was wondering if that's a problem with the fuel tank right there behind the FW.

Sweet. Mine just arrived today. Gotta give some props to Chief Aircraft. I ordered the last one they had on Tuesday and got it today. And only $22 shipping[:D]. Can't decide on a DLE 20 or 30..... Nice pilot BTW.

Bob, Thanks for the additional info and picts. They are very helpful. Do you guys think a Keleo exhaust would interfere with the cowl?

Yeah, the Saito 450 is a great engine. Ok. So make it two piece. Pretty simple now that I think about it. I do have the FS cowl. Thanks!

Ok. I get it now. Thanks! What engine will you be using? I am wondering how to mount the cowl with the FR5-300 radial so the cutouts are around each cylinder.

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
Ok. Maybe I am doing something wrong here. Take a look at these pictures. I used a bolt through the spar horizontally. Did you put a screw vertically up into the spar so it can be accessed from underneather the wing after it's covered?

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
Yes, I realize there is a bolt through the spar but how do you access the bolt after the wings and center section are covered? I misplaced my wing plans and can't recall if they indicated some sort of hatch or cover underneath. Make sense?

Quadra Q35 Ignition upgrade
Is there anyone that makes an electronic ignition for the old quadra motors? It looks like C&H is closed now. I would like to replace the points with a newer system.

Question on the top wings. How are they secured once slided into place. On the bottom wings, I have a bolt that goes through the spar. Are you guys putting an access hatch on the top to get to the bolts or ?

RE: Concept Fleet Biplane
Anyone still working on their Fleet? I just started recovering one that I got from a good friend of mine. It was never flown and had a new Q35 on the front. He built it in '91 and it sat ever since. I removed the Q35 and will be hanging an OS FR5-300 on it.
