RE: Trail Rig/Scale Crrawler
i own a safari, creeper comp truck and a scx10 dingo kit the dingo kit could put you over budget,if you bought used electronics or entry level new stuff you could do it under 350 the scx10 RTR is under your budget. make your first upgrades a one piece tranny output and some decent center drive shafts.(the dingo kit would need the same upgrades) this would put you over. if your not going to beat on it real hard, you wont really need to upgrade out of the box. the safari is a solid truck, but the esc really sucks, most don't live to run all the way through the first pack of its life, and the lockable diffs are a joke. fill the diffs with jb weld right out of the box,or buy a set of diff lockers, and get a esc. all could be done under budget. the safari is a comp style 2.2 truck with some frame rails bolted on,so it will out climb the 1.9 axial trucks

RE: HPI Crawler King Jeep
ORIGINAL: TheBennyB First thing I usuallly buy right after the kit is a Hitec HS-645MG high torque servo.  Relatively cheap, and good performance.
your up where im from, my grandma owns The Delaware Bait Center over on 13 right down the hill from saint gorges, shes been open since the 50's. anyway i run a few of the cheap servos, one from hobbyking.com. its in there U.S warehouse, and was 27 bucks to my door. i power it strait off the 2s lipo i run my ax10 on. its noisy, but much stronger than the 645mg. iv beat the hell out of it and its still going strong. 277 oz/in at 7.4 volt http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=22525 i run one from hobbypartz to, same 2s powered, noisy but strong as hell. its rated at 417oz/in at 7.4 volts http://www.hobbypartz.com/33p-solarservo-d772.html

RE: Rock Crawler Help
scale truck, climbs really good with the right tires comp style as far as cost, $350 will get you a RTR truck, but you will still need batteries and a charger, unless you cheap out and get a exceed brand crawler. dont go the cheap way, you wont like crawling long if your truck is always broke and your waiting for parts to ship. good options are ugly body though http://store.rc4wd.com/110-T-Finder-RTR-Scale-Truck_p_10.html http://store.rc4wd.com/110-RC4WD-Trail-Stomper-Truck-RTR_p_1512.html http://www.rpphobby.com/Axial_Trail_Honcho_1_10th_SCALE_ELECTRIC_4WD_RTR_p/ax90022.htm http://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/vnr8420.htm this is the replacement for the AX10 http://www.rpphobby.com/Axial_Ridgecrest_RT1_10th_SCALE_ELECTRIC_4WD_RTR_p/ax90019.htm keep in mind that even though you dont want a kit, most of the time a kit comes with upgraded parts that a RTR wont have. you will find that most of the time you end up breaking and upgrading to the option parts that come with the kit

RE: Revo 3.3 Tekno Conversion/ Need Brake Linkage
all you need is the throttle/brake servo, mount and brake linkage. and a Y harness 2 female to one male. plug your esc and throttle/brake servo into the Y and plug it into the RX easy to see if it has a center diff, just lift the front off the ground and turn both front tires the same way, if the rears turn with em= no center diff, if the fronts turn but the rears dont theres a center diff in it

RE: Castle for Mini-T
my castle systems work like there suppose to. but iv also ran several hobbywing systems and there easier to program and there smother at low speed. the castle name doesn't make it worth the price. the advantage to the mamba 25 or micro sidewinder is the size of the esc. good bit smaller than the hobbywing. the micro pro esc is the same size as the ezrun 25 amp esc and cost 3 times as much.

RE: Castle for Mini-T
ezrun stuff is smother than castle. only reason i have a sidewinder micro system in my 18th is because i got 2 esc's a 4200 motor and a small 2s lipo for 35 bucks. iv had a couple other castle products and they cog alot worse than ezrun/xerun or turnigy. i tried putting a mamba 25 in my crawler to run a 55T brushed motr and had to take it out because it was to jerky and cogged even with a brushed motor and i am running the most current software for both esc's

mlst2 metal diff side gear how to using losb1065
my brother in law blew 2 of the 3 diffs in his truck. after researching around we found out that the LOSB1065 metal gear set could be used. it has the center diff main gear, idler gear,3 spider gears and 2 center diff outdrives its a direct bolt in for the center diff, but not the front and rear. sorry about the pics, all i had at the time was a 5mp cell phone camera SOO. we went to work on making em work in the front and rear. turns out the F/R diffs have 4 spider gears in the F/R diffs. the set comes with 3 metal spiders.we just reused one of the plastic gears that was still intact. just get one more gear set if you cant live with one plastic spider gear the side gears are where the problem lies. the gear on the right is whats in the bag(center diff outdrive). got to cut it down to match the gear on the left A dremal with a cut off wheel got rid of the shoulder.then the center hole has to be drilled out to fit over the output shaft. i used a #21 bit,its prefect size. i dont know what #21 means as far as a measurement, but its perfect then i wore down the diameter 2 cut off wheels stacked on the same arbor so i could cut the notch for the drive pin to sit in. got to look like the one on the left it should fit the outdrive like so heres my modded side gear next to a stock plastic one, both mounted to there outdrive hope our headache helps everyone with a mlst/mlst2.

RE: losi mlst2
probably wont keep it long. i never could get into the minis. 8th nitro and 10th crawlers are my thing. only reason im buying it is because i can get it real cheap, and i think it looks cool as hell. i do have a losi lipo compatible esc,and lipos. one frenzy 370 on 2s should move decent, did in a mini t anyway.

RE: tuning question on F4.6
a idle gap set to low will cause you to lean out the LSN to get it to idle, if you start out with a lean LSN it will get leaner and leaner as you lean out your HSN (hope im making since) heres some great info for tuning, this guy is a engine modder and builds some wicked tuned pipes http://www.savage-central.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=83174
