RE: Radar speed test
this one isn't on a busy road at all. It is on the perfect road. The road is flat and straight. I will probably test it out in a few days.

RE: Radar speed test
ok cool i will have to try it then. But first I have to fix the firestorm. Blew the exhaust gasket last run. The tmaxx has lost compression so the top speed probably isn't what it used to be. When i do it I will be sure to post a video.[:D]

Radar speed test
Hi the police have set up one of those big radar guns that stands up on the side of the road that displays your speed as you drive by. I was wondering if anyone has ever used one to test the speed of their rc. I need to know if the radar will pick up the rc since they are smaller. It would by my HPI Firestorm and my Tmaxx 2.5

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
I was the cameraman LOL Thanks, I only have it leaned maybe 1/3 to 1/2 turn, and that seems to be fine. I could lean the low end some but the manual says not to and if for some reason the engine craps out early, I want to be able to say I followed the manual LOL

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
so yesterday my brother ran his firestorm after it sitting for about 3 months due to lack of time to run it. In that time i had to rewind the pullstart spring. We only got to run 2 or 3 tanks because it started to rain. We were very happy with the ease of starting it. We have put around a gallon or so through it and it hasn't been too difficult to start but sometimes it would take 10 minutes to get it running. Yesterday, we primed it and then it fired right up in 3 pulls!! I guess I tuned it pretty darn well for him (he is 12 and fairly new to the hobby). He got it last summer and it is really great. It may seem like I am new to this but really I have had my tmaxx for 3 years and he has had the firestorm for a year. Just wanted to get back on the thread. We may run it tmrw and hopefully I can get some video and you guys can tell me how the tune sounds and if it is running right. We get the correct amount of smoke and it has pretty good power.

RE: Thoughts and experiences with the Slayer.
ORIGINAL: jackieb I am curious as to how many people out there have played with the Slayer.  This truck intrigues but frightens me.  Is it a good basher, or just a racer?  How does it handle? Durable?  Fun?   Let me know, thanks.
I have never owned or run one, but can tell they are only made for racing. They are meant to be replicas of the full scale racing CORR trucks. They are built for racing. You can bash anything but it wouldn't be fun to bash. It would roll too easy and probably break.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
ORIGINAL: wileecoyote NITRO RC, not sure what you mean about hanging down. You mean the pull handle? If so just fab up some kind of bracket that bolts close and hang/clip it there. You could use something similar to the wire that holds the exhaust on.
here are pictures a couple just with the body for fun.
ORIGINAL: Sable i need help. i want blistering speed, good hadleing, great parts, easy to find parts, and toughness for a little offroading/bashing. what should i get? i was looking at a traxxas jato 3.3, but i hear thats not what i need based on criteria above. help me out!
the jato 3.3 is perfect for all aspects listed except the off road part. it comes with street tires but you could swap those for some off roaders and it would be a beast

RE: Do you ever get bored of driving your rc car?
it sounds like some of you go out and drive for only around 20 minutes a week? When I take my car out, i drive for about an hour or two. It can get boring when by yourself, but like others said, if you have someone to race with, it is so much more fun. Thats why i convinced my brother to get one so that we could race together on our backyard track

RE: Back yard race tracks.
ORIGINAL: Tech Head Hey nitro rc, Very nice layout and looks like a good surface to drive on! I really like the fact that it's raised up, Does that help with drainage? Any pics with cars running around it? Cheers, Brett.
Yes it looks great. But like I said its not mine so I don't have any pics with cars on it sorry. I would assume the raised up parts help with drainage
