RE: new project boat, need help identifying it
well i got the boat in the mail today. the motor was totally gummed up, so i tore it all down and clean cleand it all up, it still seems to have good compression. the boat itself is extremely light the empty hull only weighs 2 or three pounds, it pretty thin glass. so i cant help but think no mater how old that kb is it should move the boat pretty well, cuz there is just no weight. whoever built it was an idiot, they glued all the servos in. i got them all out, but since this is my first outboard boat, i have some questions. how do you steer these? can you do it with one servo or do you have to use a 3 channel radio? the person who had it before me wired 2 servos into one, and had a 2 channel radio. air cooled convertion, help!
i decided to run an air cooled motor in my aeromarine 33" hull, i want to run my sportworks .26 v2 truggy engine in it, and i already have it all set up, but i have a problem, i want to use my marine pipe, but the only way it will work is to mount it straigt up out of the back of the boat. this didnt work because the pipe was filling up with unburnt fuel, which was running back into the motor. my problem is that the only way that i can angle the pipe down so it can drain, is to have it exit at the bottom of the back of the boat under the water, will this work? will the motor run with the pipe under water?

RE: Sportwerks v2 .26 opinions
i have one in my hellfire, ive been in rc for a long time and honestly its proved to be the best big block iv ever owned, easy to tune and start and with the 9.0 carb insert its extremley powerfull and fast. i also have a 427, and they are very similar, but the v2 is a little different which makes all the difference, i dont like the 427 its hard starting and its not as easy to tune and since it dosent have the option of changeable carb inserts, its not as fast. go with the v2 you wont regret it

Himoto "rat rod" 10th scale 3.3 drag project
this is my himoto 10th drag car project, its built using parts i had lying around. traxxas 3.3 powered. himotos are cheap and decent so i thought it would make a good donner car. it has a single speed tranny because himoto had an issue with the 2 speed trannys stripping out. i had it running once but it didnt run very good, i found out later that the traxxas plastic carb had a crack. but the little time that it did run the front wheels were not on the ground. i have to get a new carb, and change a couple of things on the chassis and it will be good to go again

RE: SPEEDMASTER
ok, i measured between the rails and is 5" i forgot that i had another octura mount laying around that will fit my 7.5 il just use it for now tell i can get a nicer mount. yeah i dont know what they had in this boat, but it must have been big cuz when i set my 7.5 in the mount the holes were way too far apart. thanks for the trim tab info, i whent ahead and bought 2 sets on speedmaster tabs so i could put them on both my boats

RE: SPEEDMASTER
got the boat, looks good, i was wondering though if anyone new what size mount it has in it its only a 36" boat, but the mount is way too big for my 7.5, would that make the mount for a .67? if so is that too big for the boat? heres some more pics, its a nice looking hull. and now that i see the sticer more closly it says speedmaser racing products, so i think it just has speedmaster hardware. it also had 2 gas tanks one really small on the side and a big one in the front, why is that?

RE: my project:
thanks for the advice. yeah i know the k&b is not the best choice, but i got it at my lhs for $40 so for the money i cant beat it. and im not shooting for ridiculus speed if its about 50 thats great, cuz the place that we run here is a man-made cove off the river, with a big island in the middle, so its not a great place to top your boat out anyway. its funny that you mentioned the scale boat, ive wanted to do that for a while, they used to race sprint boats here, (actually around the same cove that we run rc now) and i always wanted an aluminum scale rc sprit. il prolly start that project this winter. i work for a local jet/sprint boat builder so i can get all the aluminum i need for it. [quote]ORIGINAL: Vertical3-D my 7.5 mono had a huge interfierence issue without having a metal radio box, and I ended up having to fork over 200 for a 2.4ghz radio...now I am glad I did, but seriously you are asking for trouble, its just a bad Idea...just make it out of light ply and coat it with resin then use the tinted plexi for a top...plus the wood box makes mounting things easy...besides you have a cowl, not to mention going 50mph I dont even see mine when Im running it...if you want a show piece build something scale...and an old K&B with exhaust throttle while k&B is a good engine and reliable its not going to be a monster...
