I want to see those hands off KE figure eights. Have your toothless neighbor lady take the video. She seems interested.

vintage inferno
I have an old inferno that I was about to cut it up to put a 4 stroke in but then realized that someone might want a vintage car and would hate to see me chop it up. Is cutting this car a bad idea?

its a box fuse that I scratched and I bashed some Chin Yak tail feathers on it. The fuse is built much like the ferroplane with some minor differences. It was mentioned in the hood on a build thread that Wild Fred started

RE: Best Plane for 3d with Evolution 1.00nx engine...??
i would go straight for a profile. Easy to fix, really tough, flies superb, they can take so much beating that a full fuse plane cant touch.

RE: os.55ax 3d plane ?
omp yak or edge, swanyshouse Mojo 40 or Primo 40, EF Chinn Yak, value hobbies Sabre 47. For real 40 size 3d i would stay away from the ucantdo or pretty much any other full fuse birds. They have to high of wing loading to fly well and they are pretty much one dumb thumbs away from bringing it home in a trash bag. Alot of ppl cant get over the looks of profiles but i know im flying for fun and i dont thing it gets any better than a good slab.

RE: Engine for 3D: 4stroke or 2stroke
It isnt about better or worse it is all about what kind of feal you like. As mentioned a 4 stroke will swing a bigger stick at lower rpms which will blow air over more of the controles. A 2 stroke will swing a smaller stick with more rpms. This will give you less control coverage but more air speed over where it does hit. These make a difference in the feal. The way they deliver torque and hourse power also has an effect on the feal. These variables have a lot to do with how the plane flies, maybe no better or worse just different. it is up to you to decide how you like it. If you fly around in circles upright all day it matters to a certant extent how you mount any engine its just whats the cost and benefit. With the oriantation of the engine and 3d i dont think it matters just as long as you counter balance for it. You will be up side down, knife edge, vertical, and who knows what else. You need an engine that runs very reliable first and foremost. When your doing slow rollers head level you need to know it will be there for you. With that you also need to mount your tank and run your lines in such way that it doesnt favor any paticular attitude. It is all about symmetry. Just my .02 and sorry about the spelling.
ORIGINAL: daveopam Good point nitrofevr. That is why I take a cut off wheel in a Dremmel and make a groove in the back of every clunk. Some come with a groove but a lot of them dont. David
Im going to have to steal that idea from you.

RE: Problems with hovering
i had a problem like this and what i found was the clunk tubing was just the right length to suction the clunk to the back of the tank leaning it out, i shortend it by a few mm and it stoped leaning out.

RE: Frankinstien
I am using L.A.R. I didnt draw up anyting i just started cuting. Didnt see any need to over think this bird and it seems to be comming together really well. I used just my eye and i got the insidence within .15 degrees from 0. I installed the motor mount and both wing mount plates. Im now looking at where im going to mount the tail servos. It seems like its going to tend to be tail heavy but i still want to mount them in the tail.

Frankinstien
Had a few parts laying around so I thought I would throw them together. Tail feathers from a Chakk and a wing from a Tango with about $12 in wood. I have a Saito 56 that im going to use on it with standards servos on the rons and im not too sure about the tail yet. I know, not alot of fuse area but its what was really easy and I fall short as a designer and a builder. Anyways it should be pretty fun to fly and plus I get a plane for about 12 bucks
