RE: Spin training
I learned to fly in the mid fifties just after the requirement was deleted but my instructor still gave spin training.I stoped instructing in the late '90's but I taught spin reconition and recovery when instructing in the Cessna 150,152 and 172 but not in the Piper Pa-28 series.

I like my Koas alot. Its powered with a magnum .52 4 stroke. Airborne in ten feet lands very slow not a speed demon but will do anything you ask of it. Can't go wrong with it. Our field elevation is 4318 ft. .

RE: Great Planes Escapade .40 ARF
Test hop my Escapade sun day.it took two clicks right aileron trim.using a 800 airtronic reciever, ds821 servos and supplied tank.with the battery on top of the tank.engine is a thunder tiger .75 4 stroke topflite power point 12x6 wooden prop. CG came out at 2 1/2 inches out off the box.engine mounted per instructions. flys like the Super Sportster only faster.great climbs and slow but stable landings. stalls were straight ahead. hands off inverted flight. tight spins half turn recovery.only got to fly 25 minutes had to get home for football.

RE: Modeltech Super Cub
I'm on my third one, actualey it took 2 1/2 models to make this one. I'm using a Magnum .91 four stroke for power which is more power then is needed.I have a little over 200 hours in a PA-18-150 and it mimics the full scale in every way.I have no problems with rudder control It works right down to touch down when using cross controls during cross wind landings. Only problems I had was with the first one was hard to balance. It took 3 oz. in the cowl the other two took no added weight at all.the faps are really fun,I programed trim with each flap setting . I'm using a Airtronics RDS 8000 which has three flap setting up,half, and full down.

RE: Hangar 9 Cub ARF 40
I start my takeoff with just a little right rudder just as the tail wheel breaks ground start to add up elevator to maintain that attitude, tail wheel about an inch off the ground, and it will fly off all by itself. you will need to keep in a bit of right rudder for P factor.on landing about six inches off the ground start adding up elevator holdong the aircraft off the ground as long as you can and it will touch down in a three point attitude with almost no foward speed.I have over 300 hours in the full scale J-3and it flies like the real thing.

I have a OS-46LA.The first airplane I put it in was as Great Planes Super Sportster.I call the OS guys and they told me it was nothuing wrong with the engine ,of that pertictular engine it was something built in.Since then I've put it in a Great Planes J-3 And a R/C Nobler andf I got the same result. Its usualy around mid rpm range. Its not the aircraft just the engine.
