RE: Couldn't get bee to start
another thing, you prob. already have it covered is make sure the element on the glow plug is pulled out far enough. You should not have any problems with propane ignition.

RE: 12FG and Flaps
I don't use the flap setting. I leave the radio in std. mode (however it comes from the factory). I then use my function menu and whatever I plug my flap servos in, I use that function and assign it to the three postions switch. Now you have total control over the flaps, settings, etc... I also assign the three postion switch as additional flight modes. This lets me set different trim for the elveator. So, when I get airborne I set first flap positions and trim my elevator, then I go to full flaps and trim there as well. Now, when I deploy flaps all is well. No mixing, no adjusting... hope that helps.

RE: Couldn't get bee to start
I used a regular propane head on mine. I mounted a brass tube on it and secured a tube to that. It's not regulated. If that valve you have is regulated I am not sure it will work, however you might try contacting Eric to see what he says. The tiny restricter in the gas line restricts the flow, so any other restriction will require an extremely high gas setting. However, I do not know how the dreamworks valve works. The other valve is very easy to make and I have had flawless performance with coleman propane.

I use this. I like it better then any I have tried. Seems comparable to robart. Get it in just about any color and it's fairly cheap. I also use there fill valves, brass and only cost about $4. http://www.clippard.com/store/byo_tubing/?strSize=URH1-0402&strColor=BLT&strLength=50&sku=URH1-0402-BLT-050 plus it's $11 for 50 feet.

The bandit arf is made in Thailand right? Here is a picture I ran across it shows the x-treme composite yak and in the back ground the bandit arf. May be an old picture not sure. I know I like my edge 540 made by them.

RE: Boomerang Nano!!!
When I had the super bee in my boomer, I carried 64oz. of fuel plus the UAT which I don't ever consider for use. I would set my timer for 5 minutes and when the boomer left the runway, I would start the timer. When timer went off I would lower gear, do a visual to ensure they are locked and then setup to land. After I landed, I would pull the top and look at the fuel and it usually had just a tad under 1/2 tank left. So sometimes I would go up again and do a couple circuits and then practice a few landings and then bring her in. I would guess that I could prob. get a good 6-7 minutes of flying and still have a bit left in the main tank. This is will both full throttle and in between. Hope this helps.

RE: Ride for my Rabbit (Flash It is!) the rebuild is on
In the AFR menu, you can adjust these settings by ungrouping them so that in diffrent flight modes (land and flight in your case) you can actually use the "spline or point option) in the graph area. Then just for "flight" you can take those points to "0" or whatever leaves it neutral. You will just have to make sure to adjust these in each flight mode...or you could do a p-mix when you select your flight mode to flight it gives 0 mix so that even if you move your brake or rudder it will not move your brake or rudder servo. Hope this helps.

that is plenty. If you have the ability to set two positions (say a full and half) i would. I have noticed that I rarely use full flaps on mine so I use two position. You have more then enough right there.

I think the Graylor pump is about the best out there. However, I have used the TME pumps for smoke pumps for a long time and they are very good pumps. I have not had any problems with them. However, that is not to say that you wont.

RE: RE:
I know it's a long shot, but you could post some flyers and post them around the area, local buisnesses, pawn shops near by and go put some in peoples mail box if you are allowed to. I know it sounds crazy, but if it is kids, there parents may have no clue as to where there kids get this stuff. I know my next door neighbor house got broke into when he was at work. They took all his guns, cameras, stuff like that. Found out it was some punks 3 houses down from him. If yours is the only one that got broke into, then they either followed you home one day or they have seen you outside with your stuff and prob. locals. Hope you find your stuff. Nothing worse then a thief.

If you have std. airline then you will not need to secure it as the barbs will hold it on. However, if you pull airline off, then i would cut about 1/4" off the end of the airline so that you have a "new" connection. Make sure to always leave enough airline in the fuse/wings to always give you some room to work with. hope this helps.

I agree, some of the batts. hobby city sells are great for the price. Lear...change that batt and you will notice a diff. in spool speed. Then you can get Eric to unlock the menu (if not already unlocked) and then adj. the accel. delay (lower numbers equals faster spool up).

RE: Flew my first jet today, now have questions please
Yeah, that batt should work good for now. If you know the batt. is good then give it a try. Just make sure that if you solder a new connection on that polarity is correct...or you let the smoke out! lol When I got my Rabbit, I got the ECU batt....but I don't care for li-ion battery so I use my 2 cell 5000 mah cell. I can fast charge if need be. However, it will let me fly prob. 10+ flights if not more before I have to charge. When I had that 2 cell li-ion...my spool was way slow. I was around 7 sec. as well. I put a 2 cell 2500 on it and it made night and day difference. If you find that your turbine spools faster, I would go with something in the 3000 mah range if not larger. Not a have to thing, but it's nice if you can spare the extra $$$ for it. Let us know how it goes.

RE: Flew my first jet today, now have questions please
if it's the 2000's mah pack I bet that is half the problem. When I got my bee, it had the li-ion as well (the 2000's size one) and my turbine spooled slow. I contacted mfg. and was told it was enough of a batt. I decided to try a lipo 2 cell pack and it made night and day difference. You might try a 2 cell lipo or a 6 cell nicad or nimh pack. Just make sure it has the ability to handle current. That is one thing to try.

RE: Flew my first jet today, now have questions please
Regarding the super bee. Having owned two of them here is some things I have noticed that cause them to spool slow: 1. Make sure the ECU battery is fully charged and can handle a decent current draw without dropping voltage. When the turbine is at idle, menu down once to the screen that shows voltage and current. When fully charged, you should be above 8 volts. Next, give full throttle and watch your voltage. It should only drop a few tenths of a volt. If it drops down to 7.5 or lower you need a better ECU battery. Both of my bee's where like this and when I went with a decent 2 cell high capacity/high "C" rated lipo my problems where solved. 2. Make sure you are running large fuel line all the way up to the pump. From the pump to the turbine is the std. 4mm (I think) festo line which is fine. Ensure filter has nothing blocking it. 3. What are the temps of the turbine when at idle and at full? If running real hot, it will not let the turbine spool up fast. Same if running real cool. CHECK the temp probe and it should be inserted about 1/16" inside the bell...no more then that. 4. Are you running a FOD screen? If so, is it the very fine mesh? That could cause problems as well. 5. Is there enough air flow into the jet to provide air for the turbine? (I am not familar with the shock jet so please excuse me on this matter, just throwing ideas out there to help you). After you check all that and it all good, then I would call Eric and have him unlock the menu so that you can adjust the accel. delay setting. Let us know if this helps or not. My spool up time on my bee was around 4.5 seconds from idle to full (watching the HDT screen). When at half to full, spool up should be 1-2 seconds.

These work pretty good. I have not heard of anyone having any problems with them and I believe if you did you can get parts. However, I am not sure about the parts thing. i have had mine for over three years and have not every had an issue (better not this weekend or I will blame you! [:)]lol[:)][:)][:)]) http://www.smartcart.com/greylor7/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=PQ-12 You can get this in diffrent material for diff. applications. Do a search on RCU for greylor pumps and I remember seeing somebody posted what material to get.

RE: Boomerang Nano!!!
Alan, I do appreciate your response. However the wing tube cap just popped off. No, the wing was not used to push the tube in. Just not enough glue or wrong material used or both. as for the wing tube and glue, I meant to use the wing tube as a guide to do so if they did not want to open up the bottom. as for the close fit...at least on the kit I seen and my boomer intro I had to add thin heat shrink to make a close fit. The wing tube should always be a snug fit, not tight, but snug. A loose wing tube only cause more flexing which in this case could have caused enough flexing to break an weak glue joint on the wing tube.

Yeah, had a flacon 120. Loved the way it flew and landed easy. If you had full flaps on it, then it would be difficult to land. However, half flaps was great. The super bee pushed it rather well. I love the way the flash looks. I am either looking at the jolly or the red checker.

So what are the best struts for the flash (flying off pavement). Are the pro-links better then the stock sturts? Just trying to obtain an overall pic so that I can price some items out and see what is the best combo for me.

Sweet. ok, now I will be using a rabbit. I would like to keep it light as possible, but I would also like retracts/struts that are robust. I rather be heavy and have great gear then light and end up with scratches on the bottom! lol What gear, brake, retracts do you rec? Something like prolinks?

Will the flash owners who have the rabbit/flash combo or very simlar post how the performance is? things like 1. Vert. performance 2. Take off performance (does it seem to be underpowered) 3. Also, can you give my an idea how the flash lands as compared to say a hot sport airplane, f-16, etc... I am thinking about the flash and have a 800' paved runway. I just want to make sure I have plenty of runway for landing. thanks

RE: Boomerang Nano!!!
Yeah, I would think a very small hole either in one side or all the way thru and then pin it if possible. another idea is to take a rect. piece of light ply and attach a thread to it. Put epoxy on it and then set it inside the tube. Slide the tube into the wing and when you get to the point where the stop was take a long stick or something like that and poke it thru the spar and push the piece of ply out. Then pull the piece back up and let it secure itself to were the stop was. Let set and do other side. this would stop you from having to make a cut into the bottom of the wing. However, you will prob. have to have luck on your side!

RE: Boomerang Nano!!!
Guys, just a heads up. My buddy has the nano and after flying this past Sunday he noticed his outside wing was loose. When he removed his wing his carbon spar had traveled all the way in level with the boom. The spar stops on one of his wings had broke. Seeing as he had to go inside and fix one he figured he would have to do the other side as well. So he tested it to see how easy it was for the spar to push the stop out and it popped off really easy. Make sure you guys are aware of this and keep an eye on it.
