RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
As a follow up to my post last month about the included hinges, I have been meaning to mention that when I went to instal the hinges a couple of them were tight. On inspection I found that the hinge rivet had been crimped off center. I then discovered that the rivet was aluminum. I also found that there was play between the pivet and plastic molding. I have replaced them with Robart, these have no slop and the rivet is made of steel. I assume that the steel will offer a better bearing surface. Nick Marson

RE: Extreme Flight Vanquish 2m Build Thread
I have just recieved a new Vanquish. The covering is perfect, very soundly packed. I'm very impressed with what I have seen so far. I noticed that the hinges are now a 'Robart' style point hinge, inplace of the CA style hinges depicted in the manual. Does anyone have experience with these? I am wondering whether I should swap them out with a Robart hinge? Thanks in advance, Nick Marson

RE: New Sebart Wind 50E
I have a Miss WInd 50e, which is nearing completion, its taken for ever[:-] Guess I'm just very slow........... I have a JR 2.4 9303, and I can't see how to connect the aileron servos up, so that I will have trim on all four servos. I also have a 10x, with a 2.4 conversion. I seem to recall that some of the mixes let you include the trim. If the worst comes to the worst I guess I could buy a matchbox. To do this seems like a failure. Can anyone offer the programming for 4 servos on the 9303, or alternatively the 10x? Thanks in advance, Nick Marson

RE: Sebart Miss Wind S 50E
I have three questions to ask, as I am assembling my Miss Wind: 1) Looking at some of the pictures it seems as though the battery end up too far back to get a good hold with velcro straps. If this is correct is there an easy solution for anchoring the battery 2) Again looking at the pictures is seems as though the best place for the reciever is underneath the battery tray, adjacent to the lower wing servo lead exit. Is there a better place for it? 3) Obviously this depends where the reciever is located, but does anyone have a list of servo lead extension lengths? Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me out here Nick Marson

RE: Sebart Miss Wind S 50E
I also have a CC ICE 100. Originally when I bought a Sebart Wind 50e I got the Hacker package. The ESC was velcroed into the plane. As summer approached I noticed that the adhesive on the velcro was letting go, presumably temperature related. I had previously noticed that when opening the throttle for a vertical it didn't always respond! I use an APC 16x12 prop. With the new ICE 100 I monitored current and temperature. On vertical uplines 80 amps is possible. The temperature never went more than 40 deg F above ambient, which is perfectly fine.

Arch, I guess a Castle 75 would be a good bet for me. The problem has to be with my speed controller, I think I will go with a Castle, Thanks Arch, Nick

RE: New Sebart Wind 50E
Hi Everyone, I am after a bit of advise. I now have 4 flights on my Wind with Hacker A50 16S and a Hacker X-70 SB Pro ESC, turning a 16x12 prop. The weather is getting hotter in Houston and today was windy. So I was using a bit more throttle than usual. Flight 4 I thought I witnessed the throttle hesitate. I had been using brake, so the next flight I didn't. Towards the end of the flight the plane wouldn't respond to full throttle, so I landed. On the ground the throttle was indeed intermittant, the battery voltage was fine under load, at 25 volts. The ESC was hotter than I would like, and I suspect that there is possibly a temperature cut off. I think I need to install a 100 amp controller............. Has anyone else seen this problem? On the last flight I flew and was careful not to use too much throttle, and I had no problem at all, Thanks in advance, Nick Marson

Permanent attachment of the elevator halves would stop you ever being able to get at the elevator servos in the future. Not a good idea,

RE: New Sebart Wind 50E
Got to fly my Wind this last weekend. Wow, its awesome. I have ordered more batteries! The CofG was marginally forward, so I have fixed that. Lateral balance appears to be OK. There is a whole lot more checking to do, but it is so graceful compared to my Sequence. I am delighted with it. What a great flying plane[:D]

RJTW Its very close now, I'm just very slooooow! All I have to do is balance it and set the throws. We will be on vacation in Virginia until early Febuary, so it will not fly until we get back[:(] What throws are you using for pattern flying?

Randy, Your results will be very enlightening. What size batteries are you using? How many mAhrs did you use in the 6 minutes? I have bought some 4000mAhr LiPos, and now wonder if I should have bought 5000?

RE: New Sebart Wind 50E
External Wing Ribs,I don't know what they are called. These are the silver extention that fit on the outside of the wing Arch, I noticed in your snow pictures that you don't use them. I have also seen other pictures in this threads, where they are being used. Are they intended to improve the roll characteristics, or possibly snap roll?? I guess the best way would be to try with and without[sm=confused.gif] Does anyone have anything to share on this topic? On a different note regarding the ball joint discussion a few days ago, I went to my club this morning to fly. One of the members has a Sebart Angel, which utilizes the same hardware as the Wind. Todate he has well over 300 flights, without any problems. Must mean the hardware is just fine..............

Back when I used to make my own planes I would have to use a heat gun, or my mother's electric fire, to straighten out warps. Generally they were down to my building, but sometimes the shrinking power of moisture followed by dope took over. That's my excuse[:D] Please let me know what throws you end up with? Thanks Nosram

RE: New Sebart Wind 50E
Arch, Two more question, sorry?!?! On the rudder and elevator I will use S9151 and S9650s, respectively, that I have. For the aileron I have a choice of S9252 or HS5245MG (61oz.in), these I also have. The HS will fit in the wing, whereas the S9252 will sit proud. Do you think the Hitecs are powerful enough? I really don't want to go and buy 2 Futaba 9551s unless I have to. Also the Hitecs are about 3/4 oz lighter. There is one more question!? I didn't feel comfortable running 5 digital servos off the Hacker speed controller, so I plan to use a Castle Creation 10 amp BEC. Is it OK to run this off the main battery, or should I use a seperate small 2 cell LiPo? Thank you very much for your help and advice, Norsam
