RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Hi Mark, The K7 progress has been slow - but have made a little progress - will hopefully get a good crack at it in a couple of weeks and really need the weather to pick up again. Will post some update pics shortly. There are no proper model plans - I managed to get a set of very good drawings and had to scale and then print them myself. Also made some of my own templates from the drawings to aid the cutting of sponsons and canopy etc. PM me Cheers, Nigel

Superb! It really does take the rough stuff brilliantly. Is the set up in the video as it comes to the customer? as the perfomance looks great. When is it available in the UK? Nice one! [;)]

RE: want to get a nitro bike, but have a few questions.
ORIGINAL: hyper701 hi, iv been in this hobby for as long as i can remember, and the only kind of r/c i have not owned is a bike. being a huge sports bike fan, and the proud owner of a k3 gsx-r 600, i want to get me a nitro r/c bike. but first i have a few questions... is thunder tiger the only brand who make nitro bikes? what is the top speed of thease bikes? (in stock form) and does anyone make a two speed for them? thanks
Hi Hyper, Are you looking for a road race bike or a bike for off road use? ARX make a nitro MX bike and Motard bike for on road and off road use - both available in nitro or electric. Cheers, Nigel [link]http://www.rapidrabbit.co.uk[/link]

RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Hi there, Managed to grab a few hours today and get some progress on the K7 plug - it's starting to get there and I am happy with the way things are shaping up so far........ here's a couple of pics from todays effort - plenty of filling,shaping,sanding....filling,sanding,shaping.....shaping,filling and sanding to go yet! [:D] Also managed to make this over the weekend - It's a 1/9 scale F-15 for Turbine power - it's also my first go at laying up fibreglass in a large mould - pleased with the results and it has been good practice for the K7 when the time comes to get busy with the resin and cloth [;)] More to come soon............fingers crossed the weather stays good! RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Hi Dan, I don't know 100% but I think part of it was they could not locate the wreckage on the lake bed. Over the following years as technology has progressed and become more accessible it was located by a privateer and the rest as they say is history [;)]

RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Well............after a 5 month lay off over the winter I have started working on the K7 project as from today. Managed to lay a little more filler on the nose section - I have also had to build out the nose a little as it was looking slightly too narrow scale wise. 5 months without any progress is frustrating [&o] This has been due to the fact I am having to work outdoors and it has just been too cold to do any filling over the winter months. I need a larger shed with heating to work in! [:D] Progress pics will be posted very soon.......................at least I am back on track with it again so fingers crossed I can move things forward at a good pace now. Stay tuned! Cheers, Nigel [;)]
ORIGINAL: Paul M It's a beautiful project. Do you plan on selling them if the design works as planned? RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Hi Paul M, I am using the filler (Bondo) over the foam - I tested it and it does not eat the foam like polyester resin does so all ok. My foam is high density blue core foam so I can't vouch for other foams. If anyone else is going down this route I would recommend testing on some scrap foam before laying it on your precious model [sm=cry_smile.gif] My fuselage/hull is almost 85% covered in the filler now and will need a whole load of sanding to complete before I add a couple of layers of fibreglass - then back to light filling before the plug is finished with primer/paint for the final moulding finish. Oh, and I will also need to add the details like rivets etc! A long road, but still rolling........[sm=spinnyeyes.gif] I will post up some pics very soon. I want to get the whole thing covered and shaped out before posting more pics. Stay tuned! Cheers, Nigel [;)]

RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Thanks for the support guys.....appreciate it! The K7 has ground to a hault over the past few weeks but I did manage to attach the nose section last week and get some more filling done. I am hoping to get some more progress in the next couple of weeks and will post some new pics. Wave walker - I am using car body filler to fill and shape over the foam - it's a lot of work but will provide a solid base for the plug - you could use the same if weight is no issue. More soon. Cheers [:D]

Anderson M5 mx bike - what's everyone think?
Thinking about getting the Anderson 1/5 scale MX bike but would like to know from people who have bought it how good it is? Was also looking at the ARX bike but it's one hell of an expensive alternative. Cheers, Nigel

Thinking about the ARX Nitro MX bike...any comments?
Hi there, I am seriously thinking of getting the ARX 1/4 scale bike but am struggling to justify the huge price tag! Can anyone who has one chime in and let me know if they really are worth that sort of price when I can get the new Anderson 1/5 scale bike for approx 1/3 of the price? Any other info regarding these bikes would be a great help. Cheers, Nigel [:D]

RE: New build started Bluebird K7 1/4 scale
Update for this weekend - [;)] Sponsons made and cut to shape and now require final sanding/filling and then glassing/detailing...........re-cut the tail fin to profile. Starting to look good but still a fair bit of work to get the parachute tube looking correct. Anyway, here are a couple of pics from todays efforts (Sunday) - Plenty to go at with the new sander! LOL I won't be sanding to shape until all the pieces are made and test fitted.....then the hard work begins! [sm=drowning.gif] Next stage is to cut the sponson/hull attachment pieces which I can hopefully get draw up tonight.....[sm=75_75.gif] I must admit that the boat is starting to resemble the subject now. Until next time..........Cheers, Nigel
